- Tool Live. No Quarter. Halloween 2015. Monster Mash.
I replaced the original camera audio of dickblitzky's video source with my matrix of both recent audio recordings by LeifH and MeddleEarth, and edited the result. Sounds great. Also the video is now in proper sync.

Seeing them play this live must have been incredible, jealous of every single person that witnessed this.
I literally cried hahha. Couldnt believe they came out with this first song
One of the best nights of my life. I am 20 now but when I was only 13 when I flew with my dad from California to see this show and i will never forget when we both lost our shit when the grudge came on. He passed a few years ago but I am extremely grateful I was able to experience this with him.
Buddy, my heart goes out to you. You're so lucky you got to experience this with him! Probably one of your most cherished memories!
He did a great job raising you. Kudos to your dad, may he rest in peace. 🙏🙏🙏
ive also experienced the grudge with my father as well back in 2015 and now just recently again in 2023. a great memory to have with the ol man, my condolences and may he rest with that memory.
Sorry for your loss brother
Jesus Loves You
A cover of a song from 1973, released in 2000, and played for the first time in 17 years in 2016. And I’m watching it five years later.
and I see this comment 7 months after it was posted
@@ammeltman1674 and I reply 2 weeks later…
And I give you all thumbs up 11 days later
crazy time-line
😂
I drove 15 hours from Texas to Arizona to see this show. Never did I expect them to play this song. It was my third time to see them and they'd never played it before. My mind exploded. That might have been Lucy's fault though. lol
El Zacho see you down at Arizona Bay
These guys are certainly some Trip Wizards for sure El Zacho
Me and my boy drove 2 days straight from Indiana to see this…was as surprised as you! Awesome show and experience.
Flew from Santa Cruz, Cali to meet up with google plus friends from Reno and LA to be there. Damn near shit myself when they opened with this!
🤣😱😂
Danny’s drumming in this....come on, man! Unbeatable. His snare drum hits so hard. Can’t get enough.
The audio engineer that night was mixing Danny's drums insanely loud. The first snare drum hit practically blew out my ear drums. In comparison, primus played immediately before and their mix was immaculate. Practically album quality at a large outdoor festival.
Of course he was playing as bonzo!
TOOL disguised as LED ZEPPELIN, memorable!!!
Thanks, thanks, thanks! I did't catch it at first. I was just scrolling the comments, thinking, wow, Maynard half naked again, and I saw this:-).
"Does anyone remember Napster?!"
The two best rock bands of all time united by this awesome song.
That drumming was fucking beautiful and thunderous for 11 strait minutes. Tool never disappoints.
Danny Carry=God
Zeppelin covering Tool's cover of No Quarter. Feels like I'm slippin into a dream within a dream.
🤣
The grudge? No quarter? Tool are actually mixing up their set list? Huzzah!
They played opiate too.
+Adam Etherton Don't forget Parabola!
+dominic romani I know that album is so good!
***** Agreed. Hearing Crawl Away or 4 degrees would make my day 👌🎵
+dominic romani They should have played prison sex
one song i thought id never be able to see live. now theres hope
Probably not.
Go to ZoSO tribute band live in person and your mind will be blown. Their no quarter cover is god-like
From a Zeppelin die hard - this gave me chills
i am also a zeppelin diehard...it was a good cover (the best cover of any song from any band)...however, it didnt capture the soul of page, plant, jones, bonham
@@davidgreene7676 this was great but yes,, you are correct
@@davidgreene7676 Usually it comes off as Tool and not a Zeppelin Cover, but the fact that all of them went as Zeppelin for Halloween makes it all the better.
Biggest zep fan ever but this cover is better, turned me into a tool fan instantly
I felt the same way. My God!
Holy shit I can't believe they brought this song back. One of my favorites
People in attendance for this one should forever cherish it. One of the very few where its cover outdoes its original.
Don't think so, but still good as a tribute to zeppelin.
I started to wonder how anyone could pull this off heavier than LZ - but I guess if anyone could, it's Tool.
It's apocalyptic. I wonder why both LP and Tool dislike to be referred to as metal bands. Imo one can call them this, as well as several other names:-).
This cover was shit
just the image and a few slow timed picking you fool. This crap is horrible, whatever if it’s some band from too long ago to remember this band is way too overacted i can’t stand it
This is a great cover from Tool. Proper homage to the original while keeping their own sound. That said this isn’t as heavy as Led Zeppelin. JPJ on keys was a big part of the song and perfectly juxtaposed to the heavy riff. Go listen to the The Song Remains The Same version again. Page’s solo just rips your head off and might just be the best live improv guitar ever recorded. Tool is a great band but they are covering this for a reason.
4:30 "Does anyone remember Napster?" LAWLZ
can u please explain that joke.. i didnt get it
Swarnav Parida napstar was one of the first websites to illegally download music and kinda ruined the music industry.
In the Led Zeppelin movie Robert Plant, in the middle of stairway to heaven, say "Does anyone remember laughter?" That´s the joke
T T lmao....ruined? Nice try, it didn't ruin anything!
Laughter* it's a reference to the movie The Song Remains the Same, not Napster.
I love hearing the mistakes, after all, they are human.. Right?!
ttbonej very fitting since Adam was supposed to be Jimmy that night..now granted, all of Led Zeppelin was fucked up during their shows but Jimmy’s sloppy play was legendary lol
No they are not
It’s like I heard a very good skater once say if you don’t fall sometimes ( mess up ) your not really trying , it’s honesty
...and Carey is sporting the black wig and bandana a la Bonham- I love it!
Best drummer alive dressed as and playing music from the best drummer there ever was!
Danny sounds incredible
+Bob Sacamano Indeed... I don't know where and how ToolArchive found those recordings but the result is really good
+Bob Sacamano as always. he's in my top 3 of all time.
+jon stolpe Who are the 2 others?
+Quentwo moon and pert
Quentwo *peart*
I love how justin dressed up as john paul jones
I love how they ALL dressed up as Zeppelin :P
Just so people are aware, Tool hasn't played this song in 17 years...
Matthew Lawton shut the fuck up incel
in 2015 it hadnt even been 15 years yet since salival was released!
And how long since Zeppelin's played it?
Yeah it was fantastic live. Great treat for Halloween to see them come out costumed as Zeppelin and play this
@@frvermusic9665 I think last time was at Celebration Day concert
Does anybody remember Napster? Thats Keenan copying Plants "Does anybody remember laughter?" on Song Remains Same....i take it.
Good ear
Plant would say that during Stairway to Heaven.
@@dead0ntimehe means the version of Stairway from the MSG concert which was the primary source of footage for their video “song remains the same”
Loved Napstet...I have many megabits of music from thos daydms, the crybabies like Pearl Jerk ruined it
if this is your first time seeing Tool cover this, i would next search their versions of it circa 93/94 . It's waaaaaaaaay more intense. highly recommend.
Once again you never fail to deliver Tool Archive, if only tool were as dedicated as you my friend.
+ODIEkriss I wish peeps would quite giving them shit about the"new" album. They have families. DC has a newborn. Its a fucking band! they don't owe anyone anything.
+darin schaffer They also explained their legal problems so.. I'd rather wait a few more years to get a full Tool impact than get a new album now and it's halfassed
they don't do anything half assed :)
+darin schaffer Yeah totally agree, plus they have side projects. Also helps keep their music fresh instead of being a cookie cutter band.
+darin schaffer except maynard has expressed his distaste for tool fans, touring with tool, and indicated that all of his focus is primarily on puscifer now. In the same interview, he said they had to force/persuade him to do this one and only show of the year with them. Coincidentally, the only new song played at this show has no vocals. Tool's future isn't even looking positive right now.
If you don’t think “does anyone remember Napster?” is one of the funniest things ever then I’m sorry for you
What does he mean ? Haha
I believe it was a play on Plants “Does anyone remember laughter?”
@@billmedic1995 yes, one of the dumbest, cheesieist ad libs robert plant ever made in concert. And Napster was the bomb, and the reason MP3 became standard format for music. Fuck Metallica 😮
Napster and limewire was both dial up computer 90s programs to download music for free onto your computer. It took a long time. I remember it.
Who ever recorded this and uploaded it THANK YOUUUU !!!!!
For real
best song ever.
Zooming out at 1:39 made this an incredible piece of footage and audio. Gives me goosebumps everytime. Amazing
appreciation for the band taking this on. It's nicely done but the LZ's live version is at a whole different level of epic.
that's fair.
According to Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, Tool took it to a new level and did a better job with it than them
I personally think both versions are fucking epic as they're my 2 all time favorite bands.
"Thank you, Goodnight" ....... "I've got good news and I've got bad news" "The good news is it's Halloween in Arizona, The bad news is We're not Led Zeppelin" (I can die a happy man)
I like how they (or you) clocked it exactly at 11:11. Nice touch, even if coincidence.
+Sral222 ....or the song '11'
+Colin Estes You mean "Jimmy"? That's why I mentioned it. :)
+Colin Estes Jimmy!
+UDT116 that's it!
+Hristo Uzunov dorks
+ToolArchive You're doing one hell of a job. Thanks, and keep it up!
Great cover - worthy of the original + drummers headband ala Bonham is ace!
I'm trying to relive this night through everyone's videos...That is one show I will never forget!
I'm glad I took enough pictures and videos to relive it myself! I was front row for the whole night, it was such an amazing experience!
Ditto! This was a great night! Coheed and Primus before this was awesome!
Can Danny Carrey please mess up at least once, that way we know he is actually human. I mean for fucks sake this dude is tighter than an Amish teenage girl.
+Bailey Nichols Video of him at the Drum Clinic (I think) playing along to Rosetta Stoned. Anyways "amish teenaged girl" hahaha
+Bailey Nichols I've seen him mess up, but in really minor ways LOL He doesn't do it often
+The Dog I got so giddy when I read the comment because I thought of the exact same thing you did. Good man.
alien
Brobotic Haha right on
Pretty amazing that for the live version where they're dressed as Led Zeppelin, Maynard sings the original lyrics, that's pretty fucking cool.
I was in front two for this!! Right in front of Adam! Such an amazing experience
I salivate.....
This cover still gives me chills. My one and only time seeing Tool was on this tour and they opened with this.
Danny Carry gives me chills and i have been a drummer for 40 yrs
Joey jordison was an amazing drummer also
I am I huge die hard Zeppelin fan and I have to say this is by far the best Zeppelin cover I've ever heard. The drums omg. Bonham had to be looking down on this with a huge smile. This is just awesome. I love how they reworked it and put their style with zeppelins style into the song. It's perfect
-To MJK So in 2012 in Charlotte, you've kept chanting Squire, and so today, you've finally shown us, you have not forgotten, and are fully aware, and here I am, showing Florida, everything i've learned thus far, (12 years of vocals) covering your songs at Local Mexican restaurants ;) Im gonna have to buy a bottle of your Caduceus :D (Wine Signing in Fresno Ca)
So I am predicting June 2016 ? TOOL MAS, MAS TOOL :D
No one can cover zep like tool
Mastodon's cover of Stairway to Heaven was pretty damn good.
Homage to the GODS. no one does it better then Tool for Zeppelin covers.
No quarter is by far my favorite led zeppelin song and has been for a few years now, its just got such a psychedleic sound and tool does it amazing
I was at this show with my best friend. So fucking worth it. I was 4 people behind from the stage
I was on the rail in front of Adam. Man it was fucking awesome.
They're obviously fans of Zep.The drummer is dressed up as Bonham."Does anyone remember naspter?"
Theyre all dressed as Zep
I just seen tool and primus in NOLA. It was some Otherworldly type shit. The opened with no quarter, the grudge...later played a extended opiate with a lil Maynard poetry in the middle... Danny's drum solo was godly. and they did a badass sweat encore! i was so fucking happy about that. (Don't be a Primus.)
I was there! Awesome!
Have to admit that I was annoyed by all the cellphones recording. But damn if I don't appreciate seeing this.
Drove from Paradise, CA to Tempe to see this show. It was well worth the drive.
So awesome to see this live
Tool's cover of no quarter channels so many beautiful emotions.
I was there! Such a memorable show!
So awesome cover version,Tool is a great band
"Does anybody remember Napster??" XD
HOLY SHIT!
Tool went FULL METHOD!!!
Why am I just seeing this?!!!🤘🏾
I could listen to them play that riff for days
When I become a professional baseball player, my walk up song will be tool’s cover of no quarter.
I’m 50 damn years old. I’ll never be a professional baseball player.
I’ve never played baseball.
But a man can dream.
I just wanted to say tool will always rock the house long live tool
the led zep is strong in this one.
I was fifth row, it was a tough pit. It was brutal during Primus. Great show, though.
So impressed, hearing the first few bars, so far as good if not better than the studio version
Perfection.
Very lucky few, those who have seen Tool play this live. Im totally jealous
If I was going to cover Led Zeppelin, I’d bust out a double neck SG too. Even if I don’t play the 12 string neck. Jimmy used it mainly to make it sound like an acoustic guitar.
This is awesome. One of my favorite Zeppelin songs. The sound is great with headphones. Thanks for sharing.
Good to see DC is back on the Paiste drums. Thank you ToolArchive!
Closest we will ever get to seeing Zeppelin again
Oh Danny, you beautiful beast.
The Teutonic Rockband Rammstein "The Singers are not fucking anymore". Tool "No one is coming home tonight". You get the difference. "It's gettin' colder, It's gettin' colder".
This was an awesome concert! thanks for posting the video!
that's Awesome man...there all dressed like Led Zeppelin members.so cool.
Holy crap....I can't wait to see the whole show!!
Love this!!!!!
Will Maynard ever come out from the shadows again? The first time I saw Tool live, they opened with “hooker with a penis” and Maynard was front and center wearing 6 inch stilettos, fake boobs, and a giant wig. What a show! Sidenote: he threw an Aquafina into the crowd at the end, in which I caught and still have from ‘97 🤘
He doesn't want to overshadow the others, that's why Maynard keeps himself towards the back, because he thinks you should appreciate everything else before you appreciate him. Such a legend!
So Awesome
Tool was immediately a band I knew I liked with the debut album and one of very very few still around impressive accomplishment alone much less the impressive body of work
Not to mention the excellent songs by Perfect Circle that I feel are so incredibly individual but affectionately related like step families or something lmao
2:01 Maynard even had the same body language as Plant lol 🙌🏽
0:27 “what’s that? They’re really doing that? No quarter?” Yes buddy. Yes
I bit my tongue when I listened to this. PEACE
I need Tool The Wall!
Woww adam totaly failed the intro !! OMG but still loving him
Danny unreal
If only I was born earlier... I might've been able to attend at least one of their shows.
+Ryan Malquist they will tour again, i promise
+Metal Mike I'm waiting for 9 years already! It will make the next concert the sweeter...
+The Terrible Puddle Well, I did a little bit of looking on the interwebs... And I saw that this may be the last time we hear from them. If you're wondering where I found that info, look on The Nerdist.... Obviously, I refuse to believe it.
+rustyrusky .... You don't want to see tool enough if you won't travel a little.
+Todd Webb so true.
That Planty wig and get-up though! 😂
Awesome cover, also. 👌
Beautiful cover
great cover,soo cool and memorable!
Dressed up like Plant too. That’s awesome
I saw No Quarter in Tempe. The real takeaway is that Tool was dressed as Zep when they played it.
Such a great show
it's been so long, i forgot Maynard always stood in the back
Great show,great band!
4:36 reference to Stairway to Heaven live version!
"Does anyone remember napster" lmao what a fucking comedian
Hahaha "does anyone remember napster?"
Very nice.
Maynard is dressed like Robert plant!! Ohhh shoot Danny looks like bonham! I think they all dressed up for this!! Friggin awesome!
This is hands down thee best cover song of any cover song that’s ever been attempted!!
This is why tools the greatest band of all time! Next would be Zepplin of course!!
Awesome performance and wardrobe.
Adam rocking the double neck like Jimmy!
Yup, it was the Monster Mash concert for 2015. They all dressed up like LZ. So fortunate I got to see this live!
Such a sick, crushing cover! 🤪
And the 70s LZ wigs and get-up though! 😂
👌
Even with the outfits.Awesome
would kill to have been there
