i am shocked to learn you had a 4th degree tear, basically surgery, and are up, moving around, had a photoshoot, look this good, walking around. like how. you are truly amazing katie. I feel like a lot of people who went through what you went through would say they had a traumatic experience but of course the bad b you are you always say that people have it worse then you. 4th degree tear with how in shape you are in insane to me!! You’re right, pitocin makes the contractions way worse. I was on one dose of pitocin and still chose to go through labor without epidural. I told everyone I wouldn’t wish those pains on my worst enemy! Congrats to y’all 🎉

If you're in shape and pushing the baby out quickly, you're more prone to tearing, so unfortunately being fit won't help you not tear. I wasn't fit but pushed my baby out too quickly at the end and got a 3c tear, so almost 4th degree 😅

    • @nikr9240
      @nikr9240 Год назад +1

It does relate to pushing quickly and many arent told to do perineal massages to prevent tearing. I had my baby quickly but for 6 weeks almost everyday i had my husband do perineal massages because i already have poor skin elasticity (lots of stretch marks) and no tear. Dr even said i was stretchy shockingly and also asked permission to do perineal massage while pushing.

I ended up with a post op infection 8 days post delivery was admitted for 24 hours with iv antibiotics. Then needed 10 days of iv infusions! Take care! Hopefully you heal well! 💜

Hearing the beginning of this story is like listening to my husband and I talking about the birth of our first baby. Unfortunately my abruption was severe and I had to rush right into emergency c section. I woke up at 3 and was out of surgery by 4. White blood cell count was very high so they needed to be monitoring him non stop and I couldn’t go into the nursery to see him because I was still getting lots of tests too being pretty sick from the major loss in blood. We live in a small area so when there are big problems they usually end up sending the baby to a bigger hospital with a NICU an hour and a half away. They were talking about sending him there and I’m so glad they didn’t because they only send baby there

I had my water break at 34 weeks, and had a placental abruption. Mine was a bit more severe and there was no time to try for a natural delivery, or even get an epideral. We were both in distress at that point, so I had to have an emergency c section under general anesthesia. My daughter needed to spend 2 weeks in the NICU, but luckily, she is doing well now. She just turned three months. I also had a really healthy pregnancy right up until the end. It was so hard to miss her first moments and not get to meet her right away.

With my last, i had pitocin and went pain med free. Labor was only 4 hrs, so that may have a little bit to do with not needing anything.

It was intense and painful. But the worst part was getting stitched up, I felt every bit of it and if it wasn’t for the fact that I had my baby laying on my chest I don’t know if I could have handled it. I had a planned c section my second time because my first birth was horrible! I pushed for 2 hrs and 48 mins! She wasnt even progressing but the doctor was no where to be found and i broke blood vessels pushing so hard. I was swollen and it was awful. Then finally her head started coming out as the doctor walked in and he told me to stop or she coulda died. He got her out with forceps and she turned half way through ripping me imside as she came out. They stitched me for at least 45 minutes inside and out. It was bad. So my second child with a c section was a blessing. They started at 8 am and was here at 8:34 am.

By the time the baby was coming I was screaming like a banshee. The pain was almost unbearable. Turns out she was just shy of 10lbs and the pain and the horrendous burning was me ripping. The doctor didn't give me an episiodomy(where they cut you to give room for the head to come out) because again, she was going to be a small baby! Yeah right, 10lb baby later. I am so proud of you Katie you did amazing and your both amazing parents 💯!!! I can't imagine the fear you went through waking up to the blood and going through that and josh almost passing out very stressful day for you guys. I am happy that you had amazing nurses and doctors. I had a very traumatic experience with my last daughter and most of it was I was high risk of me or baby dying due to my chronic pancreatitis but I took that chance Bec I wasn't willing to give up on my child and I did it I did code while I was in labor because the nurse that I had wouldn't look listen to me but they got me back and I had her and then the next day after I had my hysterectomy due risk of dying if I was to get pregnant again and I ended up coding in my daughters arms due to the same nurse causing an overdose from the meds she gave me and then combined with the anesthesia I went into a seizure and went unconscious in my oldest daughters arms. So I can't stress enough how amazing it is that you had amazing nurses and doctors that makes my heart happy for you guys!!! I think your right about the patossin causing stronger contractions I had to have it with my 3 girls and once they gave that the contractions were so intense. Luckily I was able to tough through and have them all natural but at the end with the younger 2 I wish I had gotten the epidural but it was to late for me to get it.. your birth story is amazing and I am so happy to watch your new journey!!!! So happy for you guys.. Katie I want to tell you that you crushed it.. your doing amazing walking and moving with the tear you had and you did amazing not getting to worked up once you hound out Abt the abruption and thought Abt being calm for babygirl!! And now you know how the hosp staff and doctors are and you know for the future babies what hosp and doctors to go to. Way to go and congratulations to your new bundle of joy and your family!! Also I can't believe you had a 4th degree tear.. usually happens when baby comes out fast.. im surprised they didn't choose to cut you instead of letting you tear though. Alot easier to stitch up. but i guess itcould have just happened to fast they didn't have time to make the cut. I can't believe you're up and moving around they way you are! Such a trooper! the EXACT same thing happened to me when i had my daughter last year except i wasnt on the toilet yet. when they got me up to use the bathroom it went black a few steps and started in seeing stars. the nurse got me to the toilet and everything went black. i could hear them but sounded like miles away and i couldnt see. my husband said i was very pale. when i could see again there was 5 nurses surrounding me on the toilet putting smelling salts under my nose. i'm a nurse myself and i think it was my blood pressure dropping, a mix of sitting in bed for HOURS and my body reacted weird. I never passed out before in my life!! such a weird thing

I weighed 90 pounds when I got pregnant and weighed 227 the day I had my son, I had him 3 weeks early and he weighed 10 pounds,I didn't have a epidural or any pain meds, I had no pain at all, i was induced, the doctor says it was unusual but I think because I was so big and I was miserable being pregnant that it felt good to get him out

That pitocin absolutely does make contractions soooo much worse. I had pitocin with my first and got an epidural, but I had my other three all natural, and it is so much easier without pitocin. It still hurts like hell, but it's def easier to get through. The worst part without an epidural is when that head starts to crown, but at that point, you can ask for an epidural all you want, you ain't gettin' it 😅
    Congratulations! 🎉

I had both my children naturally and honestly it wasn't that bad. With my first they kept asking me if I wanted pain medicine and I kept telling them no. After a while it was annoying me so I said ok but as soon as they gave it to me I felt the need to push and back then they took you to another room and I barely got there in time. Now women plan on getting an epidural but I never thought about getting one.

Being induced is way harder than natural labour so you definitely need the epidural. I was the same! 💪🏻💙

That's what you called true parents true mom and dad. Stay close knitted and stay as your childrens best friends coz like that you can show them the right path to walk and never keep your children walking behind you always keep them beside you so that they see what you see together not like a minute later coz that's what happens now in this world children are so far apart from there parents that the parents don't know what the children are doing and vice versa that's what my mom and dad have taught me and still keeps telling me and my siblings. So Katie and Josh and you should and you will be the best parents ever ❤❤❤❤❤. God bless you and your family Josh no offense but some do think different so don't be bothered about them just be you..... love from Kenya....❤❤❤❤❤

Josh and Katie, something that stuck to me that you said on your podcast today was about how everyone has such different opinions on social media regarding baby Skye and I just want to say I love how you guys kept her birth low-key for a while because i feel like most family vloggers try to get content when they have a kid and y’all didn’t! That makes me so happy that your not trying to be on social media like WE JUST HAD A KID (trying to get views) I’m so excited to see baby skye in future videos but I just feel so happy in my heart knowing you already know what’s too far and what’s not. Anyways idk if that makes any since but I’m your biggest fan and it would mean the world to me if you hearted this post but if not I hope you read it! I’ll forever be there for all y’all and I’m so glad that Katie and skye are healthy after everything! Ps… from what I’ve seen so far baby skye looks like josh! Skye is going to be the most beautiful baby ever bc you guys are the cutest! (Not in a weird way)

I had my first baby 5 months ago. Had to be induced as I was 11 days past my due date. Had natural vaginal birth, only used gas &air as pain relief. Its painful but its different painful. I get very bad period cramps that cripple me for 24hrs and I can honestly say now that birth was easier than my period pains. Also needed stitches and they were 10 times more painful than birth. Only thing I found very painful was the burning sensation when babies head was coming out and I told my husband I was about to rip and I did, I could feel I was about to rip. I got my pitocin drip at 10am and was expected to be 5cm by 4pm but I demanded I get checked at 3 as I was having very regular contractions and I'm so happy I trusted my instinct as I was 7cm at 3pm and the nurse rushed to fill me a pool and I had my baby at 18.11

    Ephesians 4:29-32
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
    Exodus 20:7
“Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.”
