  • This is the Japanese giant salamander, the second largest salamander in the world, and I set out on a mission to find these huge amphibians in Japan. These animals are filled with lore and mystery and we get a closer look at some hybrid animals that are putting the species at risk.
Thank you to Richard Pearce for taking us out.

@@eftheusempire My daughter had a vertebral artery dissection and stroke at 31. She is now partially disabled and can't do all the things she used to enjoy. Many of us who are disabled get great enjoyment from watching shows like these online. It helps to have dreams and goals when one is disabled. If this person had simply said it was a dream someone would most likely be rude( like you) and say , " so do it." Well easier said than done if one is disabled. You obviously have 0 IDEA what it is like to be disabled. Apathy is what is literally ruining our planet. It ruins people and societies as well. Learn some empathy perhaps instead of someone explaining why they can't just run out and do it. Another thought is that when people are in stroke or therapy groups the first thing they do if speaking is give their name & talk about which disability they have. It could have been something as simple as that. Try being kind please. Karma can be a real b*tch.

Been subscribed for a while now adore this channel. I love animals and the conservation of them. It would be an incredible opportunity to travel with you. I've been spending time in the wilderness since I was a kid and I'm 27 now! Thanks for taking someone with you regardless of whether it's me or someone else!

1:25 Yes and no, it certainly does help to hunt in shallow rather than deep waters but the main reason scientific litterature says that none will be found in deep waters is because as a members of cryptobranchea they need high levels of oxygen in water ( breathing through skin inside water rather than gills). This also aplies to hellbenders and chinese giant salamander. High oxygen waters are usually either streams or the deepening of a waterfall.
