Jay Leno is a juggernaut, you can’t outwork him. On his days off, he’s working doing stand up. He’s like the terminator. He did the tonight show to perfection, that broad appeal safe comedy. Conan didn’t stand a chance with his tonight show “dream”. Jay probably pocketed an extra 100 million during the Conan transition. Great work guys.
When Jay agreed to *NBC's* request that he publicly say to Conan "the show's yours," how could he have known that in 5 years *NBC* would change their minds and start begging him to stay? And with regard to this alleged "F Kimmel" attitude on Jay's part: when Bill Maher asked Jay about Kimmel, he said "I'm a fan" and praised him for his performance as an Oscar host. If there's actual video somewhere of Jay Leno saying anything like "F Jimmy Kimmel" I'd like to see it.

Lopez was terrible and his show was going to be canceled before Conan came to TBS late night. Lopez welcomed Conan to the network and had no issue about it until his show got cut. It's not the same situation in the slightest because Conan didn't want to take over Lopez Tonight, he just had a show before it.

The talk show phenomenon is something my kids can't even conceive of. It might as well be chariot racing to their generation.
