The great thing about Conan is that he's very intelligent. He doesn't just freak out when something bad happens, he thinks it over and talks to his friends about it and they discuss it. Leno and NBC screwed him for sure, but he didn't let it get him down, he figured it out and did his own thing instead of complaining about it
I love how Dave will rant for minutes on end about the networks, and Jay, and Conan and be funny as hell, doing impressions, and it seems like he’s not using any cue cards.
Saw the first Dave show in 82 as I recall ...saw every show for many years . I sure miss David Letterman. In the early days I always loved when Jay was on with Dave because they were brilliant together its a damn shame that things fell apart .
Dave Letterman is the last of the old school late night legends. The Jack Paars, Johnny Carsons, Steve Allens, Ernie Kovacs , and the Tom Snyders. Yep, that era is over.
Dave was nothing like those fake, obsequious clowns you mentioned. All they did was mindlessly suck up to all their guests and play down to the lowest common denominator. Letterman was The New School; he went totally against grain of the established model. What made Dave truly special was that he just didn't really care, and it showed. If he genuinely liked the guest, you could tell, and they were funny together... and if he didn't like the guest, you could also tell, and that was even funnier.
I find it interesting that David Letterman, who was on a competing network, the network Dave had a grudge with, did more to promote Conan then NBC ever did.

@@JasonHorne72 fair point, and I agree, Jay seems more in his (best? only?) element on the garage show. He genuinely appears to enjoy doing the show
Leno is about to host a game show in September, a revival of You Bet Your Life.
Jay is sitting on hundreds of millions of dollars, owns and plays with dozens and dozens of classic cars in his hanger(s), and has a car tv show. Try to keep up!
@@Jamal3.87 He's no Groucho Marx.
I just love how Dave absolutely eviscerated Jay
Good for you atleast u dint blame conan
Letterman. jealous.
What, jealous of Jay Leno being an absolute judas in stealing the job that was rightly HIS - and then doing it again to Conan?
this is as brilliant and funny as it gets
dave is unmatched
I still quote this goofy guy. If my employees don't get the reference, they assume it's a "Dave."
ice-t as carson daily almost made me spit my drink out of my mouth
I’m glad to see 2.4 million people got to see this and see Dave having fun, to go along with the million times I watched it
“Kimmel was so convincing as Jay they actually cancelled him”
BOOM Roasted!
This was my favourite joke in the whole video
Dave was right, this was the Golden Age of Television
watch 5 times a week
Do you remember, roughly, at which time he said that?
@@polybiusnymb6446 1:38:27
I love the way he keeps reference in Carson Daly.
I think it was in part 1.... " Jay will be fine, he always manages to land on his Chin" ha
These two could have made their own show. They are really great together.
That would have been a disaster. Two lead singers in the same band pretty much never works.
@@dogslobbergardens6606yeah it “pretty much never works”
Except for the Beatles, the biggest band ever
"The golden age of broadcasting".. it was pure, classic Letterman and it was the greatest tv ever :P
If you ever need to explain schadenfreude to someone, have them watch Dave here. Love it🤣
Letterman's Jay impression is outrageously uplifting.
Ofc😊😊
My goodness... Dave just skewered Leno over a two week period. Fantastic.

These collections are absolutely amazing - thanks so much. Dave and Conan - the best of the Late Night hosts - post Carson - but imho, the best. Both can improvise like no other and love off-kilter humor that others can't quite do in their way.
I hope no one here was planning on blaming Conan, were you?
Well, I was, but I wont anymore.
Conan's son sounds like he will become the supreme ruler of the world after 20 years.
The son of a multi millionaire? what's new?
He did
Thanks so much for posting this. So cool to see all of these back to back. Dave just killed through this whole stretch. And he really did seem to be enjoying himself. Sorry I didn't get to see Part One. This one is great.
I recut Part 1 without the blocked video -- ruclips.net/video/aAcOHwtq__E/видео.html
It’s like the old Late Night Dave came back during that debacle.
yes briefly was snarky
"If we can't get all these kids shows, then the terrorists have won!"
The great thing about Conan is that he's very intelligent. He doesn't just freak out when something bad happens, he thinks it over and talks to his friends about it and they discuss it. Leno and NBC screwed him for sure, but he didn't let it get him down, he figured it out and did his own thing instead of complaining about it
David Letterman is just brilliant his timing his smooth sliding is brilliant 🌿miss him ❤🦋
I don’t think it gets any better than having a comedy legend as a guest on another comedy legend’s show
I love how Dave will rant for minutes on end about the networks, and Jay, and Conan and be funny as hell, doing impressions, and it seems like he’s not using any cue cards.
Saw the first Dave show in 82 as I recall ...saw every show for many years . I sure miss David Letterman. In the early days I always loved when Jay was on with Dave because they were brilliant together its a damn shame that things fell apart .
He was a creep
Thanks so much for the compilation, Don.
JAY BIG JAW LENO
😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹

There is no way that's his name
Dave you’re the best. Just said what he wanted.
god that bumper pic of carson daly killed me.
Thanks for including a much overlooked Tom Snyder. ❤
I agree, imo Letterman and Conan are the greatest ever because they went beyond their limits @@dogslobbergardens6606
Lmao love him ragging on Carson Daly at any given chance. I’m sorry I didn’t watch Dave when he was on TV as much as I should’ve.
Johnny, dave, and conan..the best at what they did.. conan is a beast. Love thay guy and he doesnt get enough credit.
David is a savage ! 😹😹😹Man, I forgot how much I love this guy . Hilarious
Thanks for putting all of these together.
What a great period it was when everyone was shitting on Leno - Letterman, Stern, Co-nan, Kimmel, et al.
Kimmel went onto Leno's own show and crapped all over him for screwing Conan over. It was amazing.
Who’s Et Al?

Thanks for posting this. Important piece of TV history right there!!!!!!
