Not sure how it FEELS to drive, but that engine sure lets you know this is a big bus and no mistake about it. LOVE that engine! I'm definitely impressed. STILL miss and love that T444 though. :-)
Confession: I’ve never ridden in a bus with a “nose.” All of the busses in my school district were transit style or “flat-nose” busses. The older ones had the engines up front beside the driver and starting in around 2000, they put the engines in the back. Which I never understood because it made the rear Emergency Exit into a window and very high off the ground
Absolutely brilliant sounding bus man will you please do more exactly like this one only a heck of a lot longer because I can’t get enough of the sounds. Stay safe man and have a great one. Oh and I’m also going to subscribe.
Adam D: I'm in Washington County MD and I always wondered why the amber controls were on the right on the 2011 BBV I rode until I realized every bus had it in the county but you just taught me that it's a MD requirement! Thanks! I'm also a BBV fan but a CE with alloy or chrome truly wins my heart, I have a two videos up on my channel with all buses leaving my school and there are some beautiful CE's in there.
The only thing I don't like about those Eaton Procision transmissions is the "whine" they make while driving. I had a Freightliner M2 box truck from Penske last year with the same engine/trans combo as your bus, and it sounded exactly the same. I will say though, I think it had more power than the Cummins/Allison combos I've had in the past.
This is The Yellow Door Handle That IC CE Cummins Has A New Automatic Door Button You Can Push This Button It's Next to The Steering Wheel Handle That Pushes The Door Handle Open or Close
That Eaton you have definitely is more responsive than the predecessor to it that I have driven! Doesn't seem to be too concerned about getting into those high RPMs when downshifting either. The old one would take forever to pick a gear and then hold it forever, even when slowing down. It's good to see they worked a lot of this out! Does it roll back much when you are stopped on a steep hill and switch between gas and brake? I think they designed it not to do that! Great video!
crazyjdkid Eaton brought me up to their proving grounds to demonstrate how this transmission worked. I was able to talk directly with engineers about my thoughts and expectations. Although the Eaton has been out for some time, I’m the first in MD to spec one. We’ll see how it goes!
Romello Hawkins well, technically it is but the shifting is being performed automatically. Essentially the same as a dual cultch vehicle; Porsche, VW, Audi for example.

@@SwannBus does it take a while to "break in"? You should be getting optimal performance out of it when its brand new lol. Does this bus have a run or is it for trips?
Jerry Sylvester optimal performance on a B-Series Cummins happens around 100k miles. This engine is known to “loosen up” around 30k miles. It has a daily route and also does the majority of our trip work. It was built to do double duty and is excelling at it.
Andrew Kay you’re not alone, I’ve heard several people say the same thing. I went directly to Eaton and told them what I wanted. They helped me choose the right rear axle ratio (5.29) that would deliver the performance I wanted while still being able to achieve decent fuel economy. Lastly, the Eaton Procision is highly customizable, so they programmed my transmission for performance.
Yours looks like it has plenty of power... Yea the people that orders our buses dont know how to order them... Those we got hate hills 15-30 pulling hills... We took one to dc the other day an it was like omg... Are we ever going to get there... An when ours hits about 4th gear it bogs right on down... Imma blue bird man..
You must've spec'd that bus right because you barely had to push the gas and you got up to speed quickly...I don't get anywhere in my Cummins CE.. my driver has to stand on that thing to get it moving...
Jerry Sylvester thank you, I went to Eaton and their engineers to help choose the right axle ratio. Many contractors are choosing tall gears (4:30-4:88) but their buses are really slow off the line. Eaton suggested a 5:29 for performance and the double overdrive of the Procision still gets better MPGs than a traditional torque converter. I’m a nerd and geek out on this stuff. I’m working on being more concise.
Adam D our company must've done that (ordered taller gears) because none of our Cummins have any power whatsoever. Our older girls have a lot more pickup.
I Wonder What IC CE School Bus Cummins Has to go to District 15 Public Schools For The Model Year This Year in 2021 Maybe Three Hundreds or Whatever District 15 Public Schools For The Model Year of 2019

That Yellow School Bus Dude these are the best mirrors for rough roads. The standard mirrors offer more view but the surface of them carry vibrations over bad roads and distort the image. The shape of these don’t do it at all.
Logan Kojetin I can’t agree with you. I can agree that IC had some issues from 2007-2015, but they did a complete chassis and body overhaul that has made this bus competitive. Lastly, 1999 is a stretch. Had you said 2005 then you’d be correct. My 2019 IC is by far the more robustly built Bus compared to my 2019 C2.....
Adam D also ICCE is the safest bus brand out of bluebird, and Thomas. IC in 2020 will be on ball with the sensors and automatic braking! Yet C2,HDX,EFX,Jouley prob wont.

Gotta LUV that four-wheeler coming around the curve on your side of the road at 8:35! Nice, easy riding bus. Thanks for sharing.
Are we just gonna skip that?
Yup
It sounds great and I like how it runs at a lower rpm than the Allison trans at highway speed
mrwaibel thanks, from what I can tell it runs about 300 RPM lower at 55 MPH

I love the Eaton Transmission! It sounds amazing
12:55 Is where the Rage horn is at.
Talk about a great day for a drive! I enjoyed the bus ride man, and this thing is a beauty
Reminds me of when kids drive buses yet they know nothing about air brakes or a large vehicle. I've always wanted to drive a bus.
Now let's see if Navistar would add the new ZF PowerLine to the lineup

The CE interior sounds wayyyy quieter compared to the C2
A Ross it is, it’s weird because the C2 drives better but the IC seems more solid.
I agree
yes and I ride the c2 every day to the school the parking brake is sooo anoying
Wish we could have all polished mirrors on our buses
Are we just gonna skip over @ 14:03 That charger driver didn't take that turn so well!!
@ will be remove
that engine sounds great
You drive way calmer than I do I smash down streets
Interesting that you placed the warning light buttons on the right, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that done before.
03-12 Productions had no choice, MD state requirement.
Adam D that's weird, they don't want y'all to get a student stuck in the door.

Prado_SubmissiveScout evidently, only takes one time then it’s the law. It’s the only thing politicians agree on......school bus regulations.
Adam D oh
Love the sound of that transmission. Not as good as the old Allison at545 but it sounds better than the modern Allison's they have now.
Chad Streeter agree 💯, I love the 7th gear on the highway when we do trips. The Cummins has enough torque to keep it in those higher gears.
The only thing I don't like about those Eaton Procision transmissions is the "whine" they make while driving. I had a Freightliner M2 box truck from Penske last year with the same engine/trans combo as your bus, and it sounded exactly the same. The Allison is so much smoother than the Eaton. We have the Eaton in our 2019 Visions and it’s awful. It makes the bud drive slow
Would love to see a 0-60 on this bus I bet the 7 speed makes a huge difference in acceleration
Do you think you could do another drive review on a 2021 IC CE?

Oh, it doesn’t roll back “Hill Helper Assist”. The “Tap-Down Braking” almost makes the engine brake unnecessary.
Nice bus
What kind of transmission is in that bus? Reminds me of a ZF automated manual or Volvo's iShift in a motorcoach.
Eaton Procision DCT 7 Speed
When's The 2020 CE going to get it's drive, if it ever has downtime?
Can you do a drive
Video on the bluebird vision
Is it just me or do the new IC CE's have a higher gear ratio than in previous years?
To me that kinda sounds like a Manual transmission bus a little bit in the beginning
Romello Hawkins well, technically it is but the shifting is being performed automatically. Essentially the same as a dual cultch vehicle; Porsche, VW, Audi for example.

There are more IC CEs than Thomas C2s or Blue Bird Visions in Illinois
What camera and mount do you use
A Ross go-pro camera mount with my iPhone set to 60fps
How many miles does the bus have now?
I Ride a new bus (As of 4/15/19) that (When I checked) had 1013.1 Miles on it.
RoRBus3196 its currently got 12,300 miles. We should start seeing true mileage and performance at it hits 30,000 miles.

How much MPG does yours get? Not sure about mine...its a 220 6.7 Cummins...barebones. But I can tell you it ain't double digits lol
Jerry Sylvester none of them are double digits lol this one might be close, I’ll be more testing soon.
I like that ce
