IC CE school bus POV startup & drive, MaxxForce DT CE300

- This bus is a bit of a unicorn! Not sure of the model year, but the build was October 2012. Mechanical door action! Hydraulic brakes. It's got the MaxxForce DT diesel inline-6, successor to the DT466E - the only one in our fleet, and my favorite-sounding engine of our buses.
Well that driver is fired if they had done a pre trip b4 leaving the yard the bus would have been running already I no I drove bus 22 yrs I also worked for 1st student and the driver must have put their camera on their hat which I don’t think is aloud if the company checks the bus camera the driver can get in BIG trouble Just saying 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
😂
First bus I ever stepped on. Means a lot to me.
I absolutely love the sound of the Maxxforce DT!
Bus 1 what are you doing here?
@@romeprolol687 lol
Knew i’d find you here!
@@charlesrodriguez7984 I believe that it sounds like a unicorn.
I can see this video being the next hit in the school bus community.
Yes, how did ya know?
Cause there's no controversy behind it, and the POV is a great camera angle for IRL bus videos.

I will always love the 8.3l ICCE and the Maxxforce DT series. love the sounds
Diesel busses will always have my heart, I hate the Gassers and electric.
Yeah I loved riding the bus last year cause my old school was about 3 or 4 minutes away from my house. But this year I go to a school in southeast Raleigh and I live 22 mins away from my school
That DT sounds very healthy! Great video.
Sounds great and I only rode a bus with the maxxforce dt in it once but my favorite bus engine is the t444e
Unfortunately I have not had the chance to drive one of those; I only started a few years ago and all the buses of that vintage were gone already here in NJ
Thanks for inviting us for a virtual ride!
The IC CE300 MaxxForce is like therapeutic ASMR. I miss the sound
My favorite engines are the Cummins ISB and the Maxxforce DT
Mine too
This was my first time driving this bus or any DT. Gotta say it takes _a while_ from a dead stop to build any boost and get moving. ISB has a huge advantage there, assuming it wasn't just this particular bus.
@@yitznewton I can hear that in those twin turbo DT engines. It takes a while for the turbo to hit max rpm to build boost.
@@yitznewton well it has hydraulic breaks too so that might change the subject too!
Wow, i’ve been in that area of NJ! Fellow New Jersyan!
Has that classic door handle too that's nice.
I'm Brazilian and I really liked the vlog, too bad that here in Brazil we don't have these bus models.
My bus is a 2009 blue bird and i must say that an ic ce is the best to go with
Love the cummins with maxxforece dt
There’s just something about an IC that no other bus company can do. I’m not sure what it is but in my experience they are more reliable, comfortable, and have more power. International has been making buses for quite a long time.
They are the only bus company that have my full trust. Thomas built buses it's OK when the bus is brand new, what the experience I had with my Thomas C2 when I was in high school is that over the years hey just became more unreliable. After that we got a brand new 2017 International with a Cummins 6.7 L under the hood, and it was the perfect bus I have never been on!
Thankyou very much. You should slow down in that beginning street.
The makers of American truck simulator needs to make a school bus simulator and city bus sim it just reminded me of this video. That would be cool
thanks for the ride .
this bus has PB
Love IC Buses!
Damn this bus sounds exactly like the Tata LPO1618 AMT buses that BEST runs in my locality
This and the VT365 are my favorite diesel engines of all time. Fantastic sounding motors...
The VT365 tends to struggle to wanna move it's ass, the DT however doesn't give a shit it'll move out of it's own way real quick.
Thanks for posting and doing the Child Checkmate as I love hearing that voice.
That is so cool
Here's how IC and I believe all other bus manufacturer's do their model years:
For example: a 2010 MODEL year bus would start production in September of 2008 and go until the end of August in 2009. Starting in September of 2009, it would be a 2011 model year. Since this is built in October of 2012, it's a 2014 model year.
These views are better and plus when you do this and the Over the shoulder view we can see the gauges and controls like the Air Brakes.
Idk if no one said it but if the build date was October 2012, then it has to be a 2013 model year.
Looks like that the radio in this bus is a Motorola CDM750 mobile radio
The manual door operation shocks me😂
Keepin it old school
Awesome! Keep making videos!!
The sun visor is in the way
Me personally don’t like IC’s bus this one with the manual door and the 3000 engine can’t help but love this bus
I haven't seen manually operated doors in years! How many kids a day whack that tablet with their back packs? When I worked at FS a bunch of these engines blew with less than 100,000 miles.
Not sure about the tablet, I think I only had this bus that one day. It's our one remaining mechanical door. The second-to-last was an FS-65 spare that was retired before I ever got a chance to drive it.
Can you do another bus start up drive to the school and Deactivate the alarm? This is so cool. I like to pretend it's multiple buses in new tabs, Arriving and doing the Child Check at the school. 19:07
ah the nostalgia
Could you do a IC CE pov with the GoPro out facing the crossviews?
Cockpit view, nice
🧑🏼✈️🫡
Only bus ive took is electric ic fe
2013 ic ce with maxforece DT
Yes
I want to see the pretrip and post trip too
NICE!!!
How do you know the engines on the bus❤❤
Just research, based on the model number and year, and observation. In the case of the ICs, most of them have a badge with some level of info near the fender, e.g. "Maxxforce 7" or the Cummins logo
I just realized that because the old software is still enabled at 19:08 The Voice sounds a bit higher. It's due for the TTK 2.3.2 Upgrade which means it has a deep voice with all of it's prompts. I know this because of Bus Master 99.

@@yitznewton What does that mean?
@@carwashslayer4235 "Today I Learned," meaning, I didn't know that before
@@yitznewton Cool I like that as well
@@yitznewton Awesome. Hope to see more front POV videos and startup and drives. Hey that gives me an idea. Have you done a Roof Hatch View? Those can be awesome. Also get a Camera view from the first seat across from the driver. That would be nice to get that view maybe on a C2 or CE. 9sb19 has all views that can work.
I was always looking for a great video of a school bus drivers point of view! Great video! It was hard to find a specific video of this.Thank you for letting us see you're drivers point of view. I was searching around you tube to find a good video of a school bus drivers point of view so thank you All Things Bus For providing me with this video, i liked it so much that i put it on my liked videos on you tube.!
Ah yes, Route 202 in the Lincoln Park/Towaco area in NJ.
Maxxforce were too loud and unrefined. Cummins are way better. I hated those mirrors too, split mirrors are better because you can see in between.
That engine is music
Is it hard driving around full with kids? I feel like id be so anxious. Makes me anxious just watching this. But it is awesome.
In my experience it's only hard when they're hyped up. One time they had a pep rally right before school ended, and they were still chanting on the bus 😖
First student bus and turning not using the push and pull method ? Hmmmm. Cross view mirrors adjusted improperly ? Drive safe mate
Where's the pretrip
Sorry, someone else had already pre-tripped this bus in the morning and there was no time for a redo for the sake of the video. It's at a different location now, otherwise I would love to drive it again
Wonder why a lot of school buses now run off hydraulics. New York uses air brakes still, which I prefer.
Yeah agreed. For one thing it's a lower standard of credentialing. As far as maintenance, I once asked one of our mechanics and he seemed to prefer air, but it didn't seem like a huge advantage. But when I was a kid in the 1980s in CT, there was a mix there too
@@yitznewton hmmm. Maybe it’s better for the environment
@@alexanderjohnofficial if anything air should be better; brake fluid is super toxic
@@yitznewton oh wow.
My guess would be if the air system leaked, you'd lose brakes. If the hydraulics leaked, the brakes would naturally lock up
Why do they have to ruin icce by putting manual doors
19:45 why is the emergency hatch open?
It's also a vent
They can be used as a vent as long as you don't touch the red handle
Is this a 2011 Ce?
On the highway how fast did you went on your speed
We made it up to 58mph. That may be this bus's governed top speed, I'm not sure
If the build date was October 2012 it is either a 2013 or 2014
Wait hold on I’m from Australia why did you get up and push the red button way down the back of the bus. What does that do

i have a question do you guys have ic ce and freightliner thomas buses or is it bluebirds freightliner saftliner let me know because i live in los angeles and the only first student buses i see is bluebirds thank you
In my locations (2 under same management) we have IC CE and Thomas C2. No Blue Birds that I've seen in northern NJ.
I ain't going to lie but it's not a bad bus but i like blue bird busses there my favorite i also like the Thomas busses as well
What's the tablet for?
Right now, just for logging inspections. Eventually, navigation also. And trainers use it for recording training and evaluations.
So if the tablet is for logging inspections... Can it be removed from the bus?
I believe we tried something like that where I work.
Muito bom
Is this in Pennsylvania

Sorry, we've neither propane nor BB vehicles 😢
It’s ok but Thomas?
I see a Thomas at 1:14
I ride in a ic ce. The bus driver is the meanest woman in the world ugh
Can we have an outside tour pls
Manual doors? Idk this body style came with manual doors.
Yeah, that's our one remaining manual door bus
would be better mechanically if it was a dt466
What's the orange device on top of the dash?
It's for cutting seatbelts in an emergency situation
why dont you check both of the child check buttons and see what happend or ask
what hapend to your cannel logo?????
Kayden mom ♥
Do I hear a engine brake?
No engine brake on this bus ☺️
Where is this at
Morris County, New Jersey

🎉🎉🎉🎉
wait why are there 2 child check buttons
Yeah I don't know what that other one is about
That was IC Bus’ integrated alarm system, No Child Left Behind.
I like the fact that this bus has a manual door I drove school buses back in the 70s and I like the manual doors on most of them I don’t like these new doors today the manual door you always have control over how fast you wanna close it or how slow you wanna close it or open it
One reason I like the manual is that you're pretty much guaranteed not to close a child in the door without noticing

Peux-tu décrire les autobus scolaires de la France?
The MAXXFORCE DT always starts my day
Most recognizable bus
I what to buy that bus
Trust me, you don't. The upkeep is way too much and very expensive.
Newer buses are terrible to own by a single individual and require too much maintenance for the average person. Especially the Maxxforce 7 ic CEs. Not all of them are bad but be wary of the maintenance.
@@BusMaster99 he should have watched Txstreetman’s video on why newer buses are not cheap to maintain.
It really depends on how you maintain them and what district they come from where I am from even the max force 7’s run good
Good icc
Max force sounds like junk… Cummins is the way to go
It's an acquired taste
