Oscar Nunez, who plays Oscar, had the opportunity to be the lead in a limited series on Comedy Central. He was reluctant to take it as he didn’t want to jeopardize his role on The Office. He talked to Steve Carell, who told him he should try to do both. The show runners of the Office were happy for him and used this episode to write him off the show temporarily so he could do the other one.
Oh, wow! That explains things. How cool of them to adjust and create room in the show for his sake. Thank goodness they did, they got to write one of the best episodes of the entire series because of it!
Hey guys, thanks for the shout out! lol Queer as Folk was an old show on one of the old movie channels HBO or Showtime or something. Michael got the word wrong.
Jaaake, I'm so glad you saw! I knew you watched our Sunny vids, but I couldn't remember if you watched The Office. You're forever memorialized in our NeighBROS Lore. Thanks for being awesome and letting us riff with you! Lmao, him screwing up "Queer as Folk" actually makes way more sense. I forgot about that show, so it didn't come to mind. But to be honest... I like our head canon of him utterly butchering "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" way more, lol
AYYYYY OLD SCHOOL LOVERS! Old School, Grandma's Boy and Waiting... were like the golden three back then for me. Throw in Hot Tub Time Machine as well. Eurotrip too
Old School's so good, man. "Honey, you think KFC's still open??" I saw that shiz in theaters when it came out. Was a big fan of Will Ferrell from SNL before then, so it was a lot of fun for me at the time to see him in a "big movie," then in Elf later that same year. I haven't seen any of those other movies except for Grandma's Boy, so it looks like we have some work to be done for the channel!!
It's nice to see they squashed the beef! lol - that would be fun for us to joke around with on the channel at some point. Gonna save watching it for that possibility! Although, tbh, I don't know if I exactly WANT to see Jim or Roy be badasses, I'd rather see them work for a mid-range paper company, lol
Parks & rec was created by Michael shur (who plays Mose, & was a writer on the office) & Greg daniels , the executive producer & co-creator of the u.s. office , who adspted it from ricky gervais' uk office (greg daniels was also one of the writer/producers of the Simpsons & King of the hill)
@NeighBROSreact , yeah, to hear him speak when he's on The Office Ladies podcast it's evident....he also has insanely interesting things to say about the creative process & it's stuff that's relevant to pretty much all forms of creativity...he's a low key brainiac.
Creed Bratton was in the 60s band The Grass Roots. Also he originally was just going to be a background character. But they liked him so much they gave him some lines. It's why his name is Creed Bratton in the Show as well. Creed Bratton as Creed Bratton
Old School is such a great movie. There’s a deleted scene where the guys discuss the boss’s daughter’s ability to vote. Or lack thereof. 😬. There was also a talk of a sequel called Old School Duex where the frat went on spring break. As for the Office, this might be the first episode I saw that got me into the series. It’s been so long, I can’t fully recall. And if you guys ever wanted to do King of Queens, I’d watch that for sure. Arthur was amazing. Also, there was a show, I forget what channel, called Straight Plan for the Gay Man where a bunch of straight guys worked to make a gay guy more into sports and wear flannel, that sort of thing.
Lmao, I bet the voting conversation is funny. Dude, that's very interesting about the potential title for the sequel. It looks like the director finally got his wishes with his sequel to Joker, Joker: Folie à Deux. "I've been waiting to do this French bullshit for 20 years!!" This episode is a riot, so I could see it getting a ton of people into the show. Good to know you'd check out our King of Queens vids! I don't see that happening any time soon, but I'd honestly love to give it a whirl. I could see us watching that one a couple episodes at a time per vid. Maybe we'll churn through the first season some time (since Joe loves binging it) and see how it goes! I don't think there are ANY other channels on RUclips who've done reactions for it, so it would be super interesting to see what the response is like! Straight Plan for the Gay Man, lol - goodness gracious. AKA "Straight as F**K"
Ohh yeah, a NeighBros wed drop! I will have to set this aside for later but had to check out the intro on my break. Hope you guys enjoyed this one and are having a great day! Keep up the great shtuff my dudes!
@@BrokeHighMan Thanks so much, Broke. We got more subs than usual this last week, the numbers are flying! We seriously couldn't be here without you, man. Thanks again for always being here and becoming a character in our little world.
Thanks so much, Nick!! Couldn't hit 800 without ya. It would be amazing to reach 1000 before the new year, but hey - it's okay if we don't! At our current pace, it looks like we'll get there somewhere in January. Close enough! :)
Great episode, worthy succsessor of "Sexual Harassment". One of you mentioned King of Queens, one of the funniest shows i know. Could be worth a reaction. I don´t know, who mentioned it, streamers look all the same to me (don´t call me a "streamist", i have a friend who is a streamer).
We are one, so honestly, we both said it. We'd looove watching KoQ on the channel one day. There's like, no other channel that's ever reacted to it, so we could own the whole market, lol
@@NeighBROSreact its such a great show, its not so well known anymore so may not be the best show for rapid channel growth. But if you give it a try, im on board for every episode (i hope, one viewer is sustainable for you).
@@doushannon2799 Believe me, I think we'd both really like to do this at some point, but it's going to be a while. As much as we'd love to dedicate an entire series to you, Doush Anon, I don't see it in the cards right now, haha. Eventually, though, we'll have built up so many King of Queens memes that people will demand we make it happen. That's how we'll know it's time, lol But who knows - we might just do the first episode for fun some time!
Oh, yeahh! I forgot she was in that movie. Man, that would be a good one for Joe and I to watch on the channel. I haven't seen it since I saw it back in theaters.
@@xtremejay2000 Me, too, honestly! We're totally going to have to grab a pizza for that episode, though. I already know Joe's going to love that one just from the pizza plotline alone, lol
Karen, Rashida Jones is the famous music producer, quincy Jones's daughter....the 1960's actress Peggy Lipton & quincy Jones daughter....half white, half black
@NeighBROSreact , ha, right on...I stand corrected...I guess that's what I meant. Yeah, Peggy Lipton was a blonde haired white girl-lookin' actress in the 60s & 70s, so, I just assumed, haha

What an episode, season 3! Let’s gooooo
We finally made it! Our first steps up the mountain are complete, but we have a long way to go!
Maybe my favorite line, “That’s what she said. Or, he said.”
He said it in such a profound way. His philosophy has been forever expanded.

I always thought Roy’s mug shot looked like the farmer from MIB when the alien took over his body.

Perfect timing! I sat down to trim my nails right as the episode began and showed Dwight doing the same thing!

Omg, tell me about it - I'm still laughing at it, lol. What a way to kick off season 3!! I can't wait to shoot more this weekend.

Steve Carrell totally improvised the kiss....the other actors reactions were more or less real & in the momrnt.
