This song is referring to "the Allegory Of the Cave" by Plato. The idea is people only see whats in front of them and refuse to question what life might actually be. We are all victims of the cave. You are either forever inside it or you have left it and spend your entire life trying to get people out of it.

Jay Clericuzio ..."core" isn't a "subsect" of metal. Metal is essentially a subgenre of rock; so is hardcore, which is what the "core" stands for.
And hip hop isn't a "subsect" of rap either, hip hop is the music genre and rap is the style of vocal accompaniment.
It's ironic how you talk about others "trying to look smart and knowledgeable" when the only thing in your entire post that was actually correct was the definition of metal. Which everyone here is aware of.

Not just a song of breakdowns, pure rhythm. DL has some off the heaviest hitting grooviest chops out there, Wormwood was unreal and the genius is only getting more wicked. I can't wait for this album to drop.
This album is so phenomenal because of DL.

The lyrics in the latter half of the song are so... beautiful.
I know some of you look past the screams and chugs... right? I see a lot of arguing over who's opinion is correct and who is wrong instead of understanding and decoding the deep meaning of the lyrics, and appreciating DL's incredible guitar. Focus more on the music instead of the ego you pretend to own. Sadly, it actually owns you.
The main difference between the two is that Chelsea Grin sucks and Acacia Strain doesn't

Any good guitarist listening to this will notice that there is far more than just chugging here. Not saying it's as complex as it gets, but there's definitely more to it than a lot of you can hear.

Even look at Chelsea Grin. They tried something completely new and in my opinion, worked out really well for them.
This one songs sounds like a mix between TDW WW and Continent.
Which is what DL said they were going for in an interview.
mate, this song is 4/4 all day erreyday, im a huge acacia strain fan but being a drummer I couldn't let you say something silly like this song is 9/8 when it's not.
Im happy that you think this. TAS's breakdowns and Meshuggah influence will always bring me back, but Im finding I dont enjoy Vincent's lyrics as much as the older stuff.

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am not going to judge but why are people complaining about it not being technical? It's the acacia strain. They are tight, crushing and there is a beauty in the simplicity that a lot of their songs have. If listening to it makes you feel good then what does technical playing and complexity matter?
This is the art of PRESENTING anger, not writing music which actually evinces anger. An artist can use the word "hate" in their lyrics and the listener might be able to comprehend on some level if they can understand these lyrics, but the idea would come across so much more universally and effectively if the music itself were to actually sound venomous, hateful, etc. which this doesn't. It doesn't even fucking sound like anything. There's literally two fucking actual riffs in this "song".

The Acacia Strain has been making music a lot longer than Chelsea Grin, so if you think they copied them
and Add The New Bouncing Souls Album Comet and weve got perhaps the two best albums and bands on Rise.

I wish TAC wrote faster stuff. I mean, songs like Dr. Doom and the second half of this song are just freaking amazing. I wish they focused more on punishing riffs and fast beats rather than slow, chugging breakdowns all the time.

It doesn't seem to me that any of you know what this band does. Down tuned chugs and hateful lyrics are TAS. They do it well, and this song is rad.
It's because DL mixed the album himself and then sent it to Zeuss for mastering, instead of letting Zeuss do both. I dont think the production quality is "fucked", but its definitely nowhere near as good as on Wormwood.

I actually like the production on this. Heavy music is way to over produced these days. It SHOULD BE offensive to the ears. Those guitars actually sound like tubes and speakers fucking pushed to there limits. It's siiick!
It's not like they could have done something new with this album, come on people. Acacia Strain has sounded the same throughout every album so far; so why would you expect something new? Take it for what is, or just leave alone.
