If you only want to get yourself one just get the Bosch. It’ll probably outlive the KitchenAid… I got mine on my wedding day circa 1975 and it still works! And I have used the hell out of it!
Defenitly keep it. The newer bosh are lower quality (still good), for example you can't take it apart without breaking plastic tabs. Yours only got screws I bet. I had to take mine apart bc it was stuttering between the lower settings.
I still see mid-century Kitchenaid's that are fully functional and are worth their weight in gold. Can't say I've ever seen a bosch mixer more than a few years old
@chrisg0001 the units you speak of are from when KitchenAid was owned by Hobart and had much much better internal componentry. KitchenAid was sold off to Whirlpool and the quality has taken a big hit at least twice that I'm aware of. The new units today are absolutely nothing like what you experienced. A couple years ago they even came out with some expensive high-end kitchen AIDs that had really crappy AC Motors and they just screamed. Helen Rennie has a video on here describing her dissatisfaction and return after having used and loved KitchenAid forever. KitchenAid side with standard operating procedure but there's a bunch of videos on here and I actually personally experienced one of those KitchenAid Pros with the horrible motor. They had so many returns that they actually ended up changing the motor they were putting in them. On top of that they cannot need for any significant duration without voiding the warrantee! Even the big KitchenAid Pro isn't supposed to knead for more than about 4 minutes if I remember the manual correctly and if you're doing denser dough like Bagel or pizza you aren't supposed to exceed more than I believe 2 quarts in a 5-quart stand mixer so no double batches and you can only knead for 2 minutes at a time!
Both brands of mixers have their advantages/disadvantages - most of which were blithely dismissed. In the end a case can be made for either one, or both. The comparison was not very helpful for a number of other reasons. First, a single batch of cookie dough was compared to a double batch. Where's the sense there-? The KitchenAid could've handled a double batch of dough, had you insisted on it. Also, comparing the wattages of the two machines was just as deceitful: 800-watts for the Bosch; 450-watts for the KitchenAid. The Bosch design uses a belt-drive, while the KitchenAid uses a geared, direct-drive mechanism. A belt-drive system isn't as efficient at transferring power from the motor to its intended 'load', and as such requires more power than a direct-drive system. So, the KitchenAid would need less power for equivalent 'rotational torque' - the only measurement that really matters when it comes to the actual "power" at any of the attachments. (And both companies conveniently fail to disclose those numbers; preferring instead to use wattage, which 'sounds better', as it can be a big number, but is essentially meaningless). Additionally, the Bosch *needs* more power - no matter how you measure it - as it has a 30% greater capacity than the KitchenAid.
I've had a KitchenAid mixer and it only lasted a couple of years. I upgraded to a Bosch machine after and it's a far superior machine in my opinion. It can handle a much larger capacity and harder dough. I'd recommend Bosch over KitchenAid.
I purchased my first Bosch in college in the 70's. It still works perfectly! I had it 'tuned up' by Sandy Bosch in Utah a couple of years ago. Original Makrilon bowl, dough hook, etc. I now own two other Universals but find myself returning to that 'Magic Mixer'. I used to make 10 loaves of bread at a time--try that with a KA...
@@BoulevardHome I grew up in a KA household, and accidentally saw a photo of the Bosch 'Magic Mixer' somewhere. I'd always loved baking, particularly bread, and here was a machine that could easily handle 10 loaves! I was a poor college student but saved for over a year until I could buy that first one. As I said, it still works perfectly! I do a triple batch of peanut butter cookies every fall for our church bazaar, and I appreciate a mixer that can easily turn out 300 heavy cookies in one pass! Plus, not having to look around a hot, smelly motor to see my food will spoil one for other machines.
I've just bought one of these, ordered just before Christmas. Can't wait to get using it.. I ordered from a Germany company as Amazon and Bosch had it out of stock. No issue with the purchase.
I purchased my first Bosch in 1977 when I was in college. I still have it and it works fine! These days I also own two Universals, one with electronic controls, and also two Compacts. Mystifies me, as it always did, why people would want those nasty old KA mixers, being heavy, hot and weak. I usually use one of the Makrilon bowls, but for larger batches of w.w. bread I'll use the stainless bowl with the hook in the bottom. Why the hell would anyone buy a kitchen mixer based on the color?
Aesthetics and they probably aren't going to use it much. Dreaming big and they'll probably end up getting rid of it in a couple years or they have enough money to just keep it in the pantry and never use it. I bought a very slightly used second-hand unit from a friend who used it a dozen times and then put it in his garage for years. I always tell people look on Facebook Marketplace in Craigslist a few months after the holidays haha. I would never buy a KitchenAid full price but I paid $100 for a KitchenAid Pro along with all of its attachments while I was looking at a Bosch mum 5 and trying to figure out how to get one in the United States. I almost got a Bosch Compact to start off with but then my friend's cast off fell in my lap lol
Having had both, I was very interested in this comparison. A couple things were useless information (watts) 2 completely different power systems. Things I hated so much about my Bosch that made me get rid of it is how poorly the Bosch cleans the bowl, even with the scraper. Also of significant note: the Bosch has the weird grooves for the lid that get filled with gunk. It is difficult to scrape the Bosch bowl clean, especially one-handed. Another deal-breaker: It is VERY loud. I sold it and went back to my Hobart/Kitchenaid.
Very strange video which appeared tilted in Bosch's favor from the beginning. The inability of the Bosch to handle cold butter was simply dismissed but it's important for many recipes. Also, you were using the wrong attachment on the KitchenAid for cookie dough - that calls for the paddle not the whisk, so of course the texture is off. Also, using different sized recipes is going to easily cause different results. These machines both have pros and cons and it would be nice to see those actually highlighted with each machine being used as intended with equal recipes and proper attachments used, and cleanup also being shown. Unfortunately this video missed the mark and I hope people do more research before purchasing either machine.
You aren't supposed to use hard butter in the Bosch, you can break the plastic mixers. This isn't fair using the dough hook for it. You should have used the dough hook on the kitchenaid.
I absolutely adore my Bosch. I cook all the time and have no need for the Kitchen Aid. Bosch makes a smaller version also. The Bosch is so much more powerful and can do either small or really large batches. It is more quiet and has a transmission that adjust speed for the need like gears in a car. I love the white. It is clean looking and sturdy machine.
I think you went wrong with the attachments, the whisk is not for cooking dough, and the struggle test was not right, look you used the dough hook on the bosch and the paddle on the KA, if you've used the paddles on the bosch you would have the same struggle that ka had
We used the paddles first on the Bosch and found with the small amounts of dough it would not mix it right. We had to change to the whisk until we had added additional ingredients. The Kitchenaid seemed to handle the smaller items better this we didn’t have to change to a whisk. Once more ingredients were added the Bosch worked better.
@@BoulevardHome i have a bowl lift 600 professional series kitchenaid the blades do not scrape the sides or bottom of the bowl AT ALL ,there is too much of a gap between the blades and the sides of the bowl it is the same problem with all kitchenaid attachments, the metal beater paddle they give you in the box is a POS ,it never mixes anything( also got some weird tarnish on it , looks like it would give you lead or some other heavy metal poisoning )i only used it one time and never again, it is worse than worthless it's pure trash ,i had to buy a $40 3rd party mixing blade with rubber scrapers on the sides(unfortunately it is acrylic plastic not metal with plastic or rubberized coating, seems pretty sturdy but not sure i trust it for cookies) (this one has rubber scrapers on both sides of the paddle unlike the kitchenaid one that has rubber scraper on only one side) and even with that it is not great (never tried the new kitchenaid brand scraper paddles though) ,and if you want to use the whisk forget about it , i tried whisking 6 extra large eggs but the whisk barley even touches the surface of the eggs(yes i tried adjusting the screw , i set it as low as it can go and still does not even barely touch surface of the eggs,SIX FUCKING EGGS ! ) ,I'm sorry but these mixers are trash they don't actually mix anything my kitchenaid professional 600 with bowl lift is most useless thing i have in my kitchen ,kitchenaid just sucks at designing and engineering mixers ,they are all but worthless, every time i have tried to use this POS i just end up having to scrape everything out into a regular bowl and just end up using a hand mixer,my 30 YO black and decker, (new black and decker mixer and all new hand mixers are pure trash too, tried them all and they all suck, the beater designs suck now nothing like the old hand mixer beaters) and i got the kitchenaid ice cream maker attachment and that sucks too ,it has the same problems as the whisk and the beater , it could work if someone could design some STL files for 3D printing some blades to snap on the outside of the ice cream paddle out of ninja flex or something . And they should be embarrassed to even sell these mixers without the scraper blade attachment because without that it is 100% worthless and even with it it is not really that great either the ice cream maker would have been a nice attachment if not for the blades not even coming anywhere close to the sides of the freezer bowl and on top of all that the mixer does not even come on sometimes either (despite having only used it about 6 times in the 15 or so years i owned it) , it is the biggest piece of shit i have ever owned ,100% useless i know 2 people who just threw theirs away , i wish they had told me cause i would have rather had theirs, instead i actually paid money for this useless dust collector it just makes more work than if you didn't even use it at all , kitchenaid designers need to go back to the drawing board and make their attachments have a MUCH more precision fit to the inside of the bowl so that they actually come anywhere near fucking close to the sides/bottom of the bowl because this is ridiculous , when you can put 6 extra large eggs in the bowl and the whisk does not even barely touch the surface, and the paddle they give you same thing , same with the ice cream maker ,then you are doing something VERY WRONG ,i don't know WTF they are thinking , the god damn beater paddle/ whisk /ice cream maker paddle are like 3 fucking miles away from the bottom and sides of the bowl , it can not mix anything for shit unless you stop it 50 times and constantly manually scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl , but at that point then WTF is even the point of using it all they had to do was make the whisk, ice cream paddle come within a reasonable distance from the sides /bottom of the damn bowl jesus christ how hard is it , it is not fucking rocket science here This is why nobody buys American , it's because it is all just trash, just like the cars this is supposed to be an iconic American brand and the stand mixer is supposed to be their signature product but this POS has been the biggest disappointment and let down i ever purchased it is a 100 % worthless piece of shit , they should be embarrassed for selling such trash i never used the bosch but you can not beat German engineering ,my BMW is 20 years old this year and still like brand new , the kitchenaid stand mixer is like a pontiac just awful though by looking at the Bosch i don't think i would buy that either it looks like it mixes the balls , but it looks like it would take 3 hours to get all the batter out of it if you are baking a cake ,looks like way too much surface area to scrape ,i feel like i would lose about 1.3 of my cake batter if i used that thing or that i would be there for 2 hours trying to scrape it all off so not thanks to either one

The KitchenAid Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Metallic Chrome is the best mixer ttps://ruclips.net/user/postUgkxV-4_UFTAJEegRY8I2jrpCEthOr39izrZ I have had in the 53 years of marriage! It is a delight to use. I didn't think that we needed a mixer as I rarely made cakes or rolls because of our heart safe and dibetice diets. Previously our old mixer (another brand) burned out from making rolls. My Mother kept insisting that I needed a mixer. She bought this one for me. We are so happy that she insisted. The hook beater blends meat loafs, cookies, hamburger recipes so well that I don't have to use my athritic hands and does a quicker cleaner job. Also, it will help to make bread and roll recipes. Buying this mixer would not have been a problem for us. We just did not know that it would be useful. It's powerful motor allows us to cook more than we thought we could.
A few heavy users have had to replace or rebuild their KitchenAid mixers over time because the gears in the front of the mixer head wear out. It would be interesting to know how well the Bosch holds up over time. By spreading everything out across two whisks or two paddles, it seems not to be putting as much stress on either. Then, KitchenAid has many different models, and I would imagine the higher priced commercial models take more abuse as well. From outward view, the Bosch has a really sturdy appearance.
We are big fans of Bosch products! We've heard of people having great success with the longevity of their Bosch. They are definitely a high-quality brand.
@@notavailable5911 We sell Bosches at our store and everyone has been very happy with them! Yes, they aren't as aesthetically pleasing as a Kitchen Aid, but they do have just as many attachments and functions, if not more. If you can, perhaps see if one of your friends or family members has a Bosch and ask if you could make a recipe using it to see if you like it. In my personal opinion (I am not a professional, I just answer the RUclips questions. I like to cook and bake at home) I like Bosches more. I think they are more user-friendly. But I know people who are professional bakers who use Kitchen Aids. There's not one that is necessarily better than the other, it just comes down to personal preference. So again, we'd recommend seeing if you could try out both with help from friends or family. Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with!
About twenty years ago I was in the market for a mixer with the attachments, and I had to choose between a Bosch Universal and/or a Kitchenaid. I wanted the Kitchenaid so, so bad. I just liked the design of it and the aesthetics, but in my heart of hearts, I could not justify the purchasing of a Kitchenaid because the Bosch was head and shoulders over and above the Kitchenaid, in my opinion. I suppose the best comparison I can come up with is in looking for marriage material, what are you going to go for? The beautiful gorgeous, well, proportioned, Kitchenaid, or the homely strong, dependable Bosch? In my opinion, the Bosch, hands down!
My Bosch Magic Mixer is over 43 yrs. old. I bought it new with many attachments. It's a workhorse & I have never had any problems with it. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a fancy new machine, but why replace something that isn't broke. I like things that are made right and that last.
Why were the mixing attachments constantly being changed out in the Bosch? That's time-consuming, annoying, and difficult. And wasting batter. I can't believe it would take all 3 mixing blades to make cookies. And how do change them when you have a bowl full of batter? Also, I don't understand why Bosch gives you these flimsy-looking plastic cookie paddles; they look like they'd break under the load. I'm pro-Bosch, but have these concerns.
That grey coloured piece is dough hook extender, the bowl scraper has a white cover and which hold two scrapers one does middle shaft and other does inside bowl.
I’ve had a couple of KAs but got rid of them and LOVE my Bosch. So much easier to add ingredients and less messy. Plus you get the added blender motor.
I’ve had three different KA, a Cuisinart 7Qt and a Bosch. The Bosch is by far the best among them. Yes, if you’re lucky enough to own the KA of years ago when they were made with metal parts, you’d probably be fine, but the ones of today are mostly plastic and strip easily. I’ve made quadruple batches of cookies and bread doughs in my Bosch, with up to 14 cups of flour and it never missed a beat. My other mixers probably would have caught on fire.
I've got my mom's K5SS that she bought in the mid 80's, she baked a whole lot with it. Before that she had a Sunbeam Mixmaster when I was little, she used it until the beaters broke, that's when she bought the Kitchenaid. I've actually still got the large bowl from the Sunbeam.
Hello, I've just been informed that the Bosch Universal Plus mixer has downgraded their motor wattage from 800 watts to 500 watts. Does this mean they are now using a less powerful motor, or is there some other factor? Thanks.
Here is what Bosch said about the change, "Due to rating regulations recently passed by UL Laboratories, which changed the method of motor wattage ratings, the Bosch Universal Plus Mixer has a new rating label of 500 watts. The motor HAS NOT CHANGED, only the rating label because of the new rating method. We are working to change all online images to reflect this change. Please be assured that nothing has changed in the Iconic Bosch Motor. It has the same motor with the same 3-year motor guarantee. This is the case with ALL Bosch Universal Plus Mixers available for purchase in-store and online"
I have a question about bosch machine. What if I only have the dough mixer part and the whisk. And I need to make cake.. Do I have to buy the cake and cookies paddel?
Hello! The mixer would perform best with the cake paddles, but if you are in a pinch, the whisks would do just fine! Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you for watching!
@@BoulevardHome I bought my bosch last week and mine came with the part called dough cutter. Is this mean that it is an old model or what where can I find the manafacture year of my bosch. Second I still need to know when do I need to get the cake paddel? As now I just have the whisk and I don't know how far I can go with it.
Bought Kitchen Aid cause it looked pretty, big mistake. Went Bosch and I never went back. I recently learned the same lesson with my rice cooker, took the plunge and bought a Zojirushi, and now I couldn't be happier as it makes a perfect pot of rice every time. Lesson learned, just go for the best and don't look back.
The Bosch bowl is plastic. You can upgrade and get a metal bowl in desired. We are in a hot and dry climate as well and have never had any customer complain about a brittle bowl. Thanks for the question.
@@tamarapeterson1844 Actually we were just saying the plastic bowls have worked very well in our market and there has been no need to purchase a metal one. Both Kitchen Aid and Bosch make a very good mixer. You cant really go wrong with either one.
@@tamarapeterson1844 Bosch's guts are metal. KA has a shiny metal housing with plastic gears and a motor that will probably burn out if you use it to make bread a lot. And if the motor actually holds up, the plastic gears will break and need to be replaced. I got a Bosch model that comes with the metal bowl for $477 shipped.
@@BigheadedwonKitchenAid does not have plastic gears. Watch any KitchenAid repair video - they are metal. Not sure where you're getting this information.
The Hobart KitchenAids were true workhorse machines. Glad you have one. There are people who search eBay for them. I have a KA from the late 80s when Whirlpool was still using Hobart specs. That mixer is nearly 33 years and running like it did when I got it. But I don't think I would take a chance on the new KA mixers. I've read too many complaints about gears breaking now. The Bosch looks very sturdy and videos I've watched show it is consistently strong.
I got my son a Hobart Kitchen Aid. I have an Artisan. It’s too heavy to carry around. I want the Bosch. I was able to find a cheap Cooks Essentials in the style of Bosch. For $80. 600 watts and 5 quarts. I make my own soaps and other beauty products. This will help me so much!
I'm thinking the Bosch is going to be better if you plan on doing a lot of hosting/have a large family and bake from scratch regularly/selling or contributing a lot of baked goods and the Kitchenaid is better for smaller meals/good for someone that just brings it out for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
As someone who has owned two sizes of Kitchenaid and just got a Bosch, I disagree. My Kitchaid, the same model as is in this video, is awful at smaller batches. A full size cake receipe is where it starts getting good. It can do a half cake receipe but you are scraping the bowl a lot to help it out. And for egg whites, you need about 4 in the bowl before it'll work well. In the Bosch, it can easily do a half cake receipe and it can whisk 2 egg whites no problem. For me, the Bosch wins hands down, except on price. I got the Bosch as an open box on sale. Otherside the price is kind of hard to take.
@@oirvine It is the taxes that made the Bosch so expensive outside EU. It is the same thing with the KA in Europe, in Sweden it cost over 600 dollars and that is to much for such a weak mixer.
Hmm, not sure when KitchenAid came out with each attachment, but they've had several add-ons for years now (well before 2020). Kitchen-Aid has an ice-cream maker, pasta roller, veggie peeler, and other types of extensions. They might not be standard, but I think the standard ones are pretty applicable for the everyday, casual kind of baker, and if you need the others, you can get them. Also, I've never had any problems doubling a recipe for chocolate chip cookies using a KitchenAid. I think they should've made the comparison using the same quantity for each. That extra butter probably helped make it creamier; even if the flour is doubled, that extra fat goes a long way. Seems biased in favor of Bosch. Sorry, but the KitchenAids look a lot better too. Even if Bosch has a "stronger motor," it looks cheap.

So basically if you want a specific color on your countertop go with KitchenAid and if you want a good mixer, get the Bosch! I purchased a Bosch, and it by far out performs the KitchenAid mixer. The kitchen aide just froze and stopped working while making bread! I'm a baker and I need a good mixer not decor!
My mother, got her Bosch, in the mid '70's. Tried to break it, for a few decades. Couldn't. I'm the second of 7 kids. Six of us have Bosch mixers, most the old Universal. Counting all the time owned, probably close to a century. I only know of one being taken apart. I wanted to see how it worked, so I took it apart. Didn't need to. The LARGE gear under the bowl, is plastic. I did this on my $6 Deseret Industries score. Six bucks for the Universal. There was NO wear! steve
Bosch hands down better . I Have had both kitchen Aid if you must slow down pausing at each gear or you will break of the gears . Also kitchen aid throws flour out even with shield on. I have have had my kitchen aid refurbished 3 times in five years . Went back to Bosch.
Just because more are sold does not mean they are better. Kitchenaid Mixers are very good mixers. One major reason so many are sold is because they cost a lot less for the basic model.
@@BoulevardHome And sometimes people forget about the limits of the KA mixer. If they recommend only using six cups of flour, why take a chance and overload it with eight? But it does seem that today's KA mixers do not get as many rave reviews as the older ones.
KA's sold at basically every store so it's what people buy. If my only 2 options to get a stand mixer were to buy a KA from Target or somewhere. Or pay to fly to Germany to get a Bosch. I'd be taking a trip to Germany. KA has been a joke of a company for decades now.
as i heard from a lot of people -Kitchenaid and kenwood are not strong as bosch -and dont make great work-bosch strong and power and dosnt dance-move like kitchenaid and kenwood whille mixing-if you are looking for just a name go for kitchenaid or kenwood but if you are looking for power and strong high quality mixer go fot Bosch
Why on earth would you only do one batch in the kitchenaid? That's not a fair comparison if you're doing different quantities!! ANY large mixer performs better with more batter. This comparison is so Bosch biased!!
WHY one mixer make a double batch and the other a single batch?? You said the bowls were about the same size SO make the same amount of dough. I am not a fan of either mixer, that being said this is NOT a fair comparison! Sheesh!!!
I don't get why people are so wed to Bosch over Kitchenaid. Honestly, every review I've seen puts Kitchenaid above Bosch. Also, all the plastic with Bosch really leaves me worried about how well it will handle things over time. Plastic holds on to oils, which makes making meringue very difficult. I also worry about doing something where I need to pour in something hot, like a sugar syrup for Italian meringue. I also have to wonder about the inconsistency of attachments I see being used in this video. You start out in the Bosch with the dough hooks (used for kneading bread) for cookies, then suddenly you're using the whisk attachments? Then you go back to the dough hooks. I'd also like to see what you say when putting the two machines through a more varied assortment of uses. Also, you say the Bosch comes with more accessory options, but I know Kitchenaid also has everything you mentioned the Bosch has, so I wonder how well you did on your homework.
Hi Ryan! Thanks for watching our video. You know your stuff! Our intention with this video was not to convince anyone which is better, we just want to educate our viewers on the pros and cons of each machine. We want to help our customers to make informed decisions when buying home goods. Some people will always prefer Kitchen Aid over Bosch and vice versa and that's just the way it goes!
I have a 7 quart kitchenaid mixer which I used in my cake business for years. It’s worked like a horse and owes me nothing now but I think my next one will be a Bosch. Side note, if you use the paddle to mix cookie dough in the kitchenaid, you get that lighter fluffy texture. My 7 quart will not handle a double batch of pizza dough. It pops off the stand.
It's a shame you didn't actually lift both of them up to illustrate the difference in weight and show easy it is for anyone to pick up the Bosch and put it away in a cupboard or on a shelf. You don't need to keep it out on the countertop which is nice if you don't have a lot of counterspace to begin with. I've had my Bosch for over 20 years and it's never failed.. BTW the dough hook on the Bosch is NOT dishwasher safe, it is partially aluminum and will discolor with that black residue, beware.
Why did you cook a double batch in the Bosch and a single in the KitchenAid. It should have been an apples to apples comparison so the test isn’t helpful. Also, it’s “flour” not “flower”!
I have never used the Bosch but I own a KA 600 professional model. I have to say though that the Bosch really looks cheap to me. All of that plastic then the thin flimsy looking attachments. Not to say that it's not good quality but I find it kind of off putting. ,I would love to see more reviews down the road as to how it holds up over the years.
I agree.... the plastic look is totally off putting for me too! I'm in the market for a mixer and have been leaning towards the Bosch, but I really don't like the plastic look on the outside. They now have a "black" and metal option, which looks much nicer. There are several comments on this thread which say they've had a Bosch since the 80's or so! And others that say they have metal gears/mechanics and plastic outer. And that some KAs have metal outside and some plastic mechanics! I think for me, one practical reason I lean toward the Bosch, is I don't want a mixer left out on my counter and the Bosch seems easier to move and store.... those Kitchen Aids although beautiful (love the color options) are heavy, cumbersome and if you are going to store it, you need quite a bit of space. The teenager inside of my wants a light pink KA mixer; but my practical mama bear self of 5 kids and no space says... get the Bosch and be happy! 😄
…sponsored by Bosch? Proof that if you spin things a little bit, you can make anything look great. Those are the quietest mixers I’ve ever heard. (great background music BTW) 😝 The Kitchen Aid actually performs better with a double batch, so you handicapped the test. I wonder how well the Bosch kneads dough? (I’m sure it can hold it’s own, right.) America’s Test Kitchens review on RUclips covers all the bases. Kitchen Aid was the clear winner. Bosch makes some great stuff! Love my Bosch washer, dryer and dishwasher.
A KA does absolutely nothing better than the Bosch. The only pluses are they're much quieter and come in a hundred different colors. Legendary chef James Beard said it best when he said the Bosch Universal is the gold standard of dough mixers. He could have used any mixer on the planet and he chose Bosch. The dough I mix 3x a week in my Bosch plus would either kill a KA or cause it to overheat and need a 20 minute rest period. Kitchen aid, minus the $1000+ commercial line have been utter crap for decades now. And even the commercial line you can do much better with other brands when you hit the 1k+ price catagory
My kitchen aid professional model bought 6 years ago (450$), very light use officially stop working. I was always question about how this thing gonna last because of the way the bowl design (put on 2 side hook and lft the handle to raise the bowl up) and the noise of the bowl getting shaking and self-adjusting during operation. Now the motor is working, but the bowl could not adjust its movement, strains the motor, paddle stop spinning and the whole thing make scrary growling sound. Zero credit for kidchen aid, i see Bosch having smarter design. I make sure my words passed to my next generation Kitchen Aid, no thank you. All so i never happy with other a attachemts, the attachemts go with machine (whip wire, duogh hook) are very cheap made and leave black metal dust on the food. meat grinder is a waste, meat comes out with black stuff from the intact betwen driver and shaft blade. A whole horrible experience.
Your suppose to use the paddle attachment for cookie doughs not the wire whip. Duhh.. Use the machine wrong and of coarse it will not perform well. Don’t let this bias review fool you Kitchenaid. Is more versatile and capable especially in the larger 7 qt models.
Kitchenaid is by far the worse mixer I have ever used. We bought this for $599 a year ago and had used in for less than one year and the roller stopped turning while the motor is still running. I waited a month to bring into repairs due to Covid and the holidays and the warranty had just expired. They told me this is a known problem and repair cost comes to $400+. Because the warranty expired they are not covering it. What a SCAM!! If this is a known problem, why did they focused on the marketing in selling a colourful and fancy looking mixer to the public instead of engineering a good quality mixer and fixing the inherent problem??? I will never buy another KitchenAid product ever again and will tell everyone I know to do the same. Shame on you kitchenScam!
I have to say this was a really useless comparison. Comparisons 101 or "Comparisons for dummies", you have to be doing the same thing with each item you're comparing or it's entirely moot. This shows me absolutely nothing as a buyer choosing between these brands. What a waste of time. Next time do the same recipes with both mixers, obviously.
Do not take this video seriously there are so many things that were done wrong. 1) you should never put plastic in the dishwasher but all kitchenaid attachments are dishwasher safe. 2) you should never make cookies with a whisk they will be over worked and tough to eat. 3) it was an unfair comparison, when testing you always make the same amounts never more or less in one. 4) kitchenaid mixers come with many more attachments then the Bosch 5) the kitchenAid will out preform a Bosch any day
We would disagree with you but thank you for sharing. The reason not to put kitchenaid attachments in the dishwasher is because the finish will most likely be damaged. We used a wisk temporarily to begin the mixture of the hardened butter. We had a larger amount of dough in the Bosch so it anything it would have been unfair for the Bosch. Included attachments are similar for both models. However looking at additional options Bosch seems to have better options at lower prices. Overall the Bosch outperformed but the Kitchenaid is still a very good choice for a stand mixer.
@@BoulevardHome I think the KitchenAid pro line 7 will outperform any other mixer out there. The whisk is for egg whites or whipping cream, never cookie dough or bread dough. The cookie dough should only be mixed with the paddle attachment.
That is possible as we did not test the pro line 7. One thing with the pro line 7 is that it costs a lot more than the Bosch but I am sure it is an amazing stand mixer.
@@BoulevardHome I have the artisan stand mixer and I have compared it with a friends Bosch yes the Bosch is bigger but for the two of the kitchenaid wins all the time she has been a chef for 25 years and I have been a chef for around 8 years
@@benavetissian934 what people tend to over look with this test is the fact that this was done using a large batch of cookies. They did say it was a double batch. This is where KA Artisans and their residential machines struggle unless you're using the Pro-line series which is built for large batches. The other premise of this comparison was the price. They used both these mixers because they are in the same price range. The pedagogy of cookie baking was not the test in this video. While the KA has many good features, based on the categories of mixing capacity and power with the attachments and most importantly *price* in this test the Bosch would win. If you're looking to bake a small batch of cookies on a weekend to have at home, then the KA Artisans mixers are better suited for that task. As mentioned before, there are more powerful KA mixers that can do the batches the Bosch mixer can do in this video, but they are in a more expensive price range.

We bought a Massimo stand mixer at Hart Maison Engros at Place Vertu, Montreal. It worked great the first time. The second time the locking mechanism seemed broken. Maison Engros said one week had passed, they have nothing to do with it, perhaps call the manufacturer, but no number was listed. We tried our luck calling Maison Condelle, the name listed on Massimo packaging. They passed us onto a lady by the name of M. Dessur......, customer rep at Hart Stores. She seemed very nice and willing to help. We did what she asked: send her the receipt and any details by email. That was the end of it, we heard nothing further from her. Phone calls left at Hart Stores have been met with complete silence.
@@BrainHurricanes Even the trades think the quality gone down hill. I hear Bosch sold it tool division off. Not sure about the mixers, though.
Sounds to me, you can make a video highlighting your comparison
Thanks for the info. If you were going to buy one for the bread mixing capabilities, which one would you go with?
I could care less about the technical stuff. I just wanna know if it's well made and works well
Kitchen Aid is a grandma mixer, obsolete. Bosch KICKED ASS BIG TIME!!!
Thanks for sharing.
That's great! We are so excited for you! Let us know what you think when you are finally able to use it.
@@BoulevardHome I'll try to remember..
That's incredible! We are glad to hear your Bosch is still doing so well. Thanks for sharing :)
You're just mad that you're stuck with an ancient KA and the BOSCH being less expensive is muh better designed and KICKED KITCHEN AID's ASS!

The Bosch is a clear winner for bread
You aren't supposed to use hard butter in the Bosch, you can break the plastic mixers. This isn't fair using the dough hook for it. You should have used the dough hook on the kitchenaid.
Hi Sage! Thanks for your feedback. We will implement this into our next videos about Bosch.
Love my Bosh for large bread dough recipes, but it's a PITA to clean.
Bosch seems to be the clear winner among the people! Thanks for sharing.
After seeing my mom having to clean her bosch I disagree. not to mention not all the dough gets mixed because sticks to sides.
Hi, does the Bosch work for making creams? Which attachment u use?
@@AQUANOMY I have a double whisk attachment that whips cream more evenly and twice as fast as my Kitchen Aid ever did!
@@BoulevardHome i have a bowl lift 600 professional series kitchenaid
the blades do not scrape the sides or bottom of the bowl AT ALL ,there is too much of a gap between the blades and the sides of the bowl
it is the same problem with all kitchenaid attachments, the metal beater paddle they give you in the box is a POS ,it never mixes anything( also got some weird tarnish on it , looks like it would give you lead or some other heavy metal poisoning )i only used it one time and never again, it is worse than worthless
it's pure trash ,i had to buy a $40 3rd party mixing blade with rubber scrapers on the sides(unfortunately it is acrylic plastic not metal with plastic or rubberized coating, seems pretty sturdy but not sure i trust it for cookies) (this one has rubber scrapers on both sides of the paddle unlike the kitchenaid one that has rubber scraper on only one side) and even with that it is not great (never tried the new kitchenaid brand scraper paddles though) ,and if you want to use the whisk forget about it , i tried whisking 6 extra large eggs but the whisk barley even touches the surface of the eggs(yes i tried adjusting the screw , i set it as low as it can go and still does not even barely touch surface of the eggs,SIX FUCKING EGGS ! ) ,I'm sorry but these mixers are trash they don't actually mix anything
my kitchenaid professional 600 with bowl lift is most useless thing i have in my kitchen ,kitchenaid just sucks at designing and engineering mixers ,they are all but worthless, every time i have tried to use this POS i just end up having to scrape everything out into a regular bowl and just end up using a hand mixer,my 30 YO black and decker, (new black and decker mixer and all new hand mixers are pure trash too, tried them all and they all suck, the beater designs suck now nothing like the old hand mixer beaters)
and i got the kitchenaid ice cream maker attachment and that sucks too ,it has the same problems as the whisk and the beater , it could work if someone could design some STL files for 3D printing some blades to snap on the outside of the ice cream paddle out of ninja flex or something .
And they should be embarrassed to even sell these mixers without the scraper blade attachment
because without that it is 100% worthless and even with it it is not really that great either
the ice cream maker would have been a nice attachment if not for the blades not even coming anywhere close to the sides of the freezer bowl
and on top of all that the mixer does not even come on sometimes either (despite having only used it about 6 times in the 15 or so years i owned it) , it is the biggest piece of shit i have ever owned ,100% useless
i know 2 people who just threw theirs away , i wish they had told me cause i would have rather had theirs, instead i actually paid money for this useless dust collector
it just makes more work than if you didn't even use it at all ,
kitchenaid designers need to go back to the drawing board and make their attachments have a MUCH more precision fit to the inside of the bowl so that they actually come anywhere near fucking close to the sides/bottom of the bowl
because this is ridiculous , when you can put 6 extra large eggs in the bowl and the whisk does not even barely touch the surface, and the paddle they give you same thing , same with the ice cream maker ,then you are doing something VERY WRONG ,i don't know WTF they are thinking , the god damn beater paddle/ whisk
/ice cream maker paddle are like 3 fucking miles away from the bottom and sides of the bowl , it can not mix anything for shit unless you stop it 50 times and constantly manually scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl , but at that point then WTF is even the point of using it
all they had to do was make the whisk, ice cream paddle come within a reasonable distance from the sides /bottom of the damn bowl jesus christ how hard is it , it is not fucking rocket science here
This is why nobody buys American , it's because it is all just trash, just like the cars
this is supposed to be an iconic American brand and the stand mixer is supposed to be their signature product but this POS has been the biggest disappointment and let down i ever purchased
it is a 100 % worthless piece of shit , they should be embarrassed for selling such trash
i never used the bosch but you can not beat German engineering ,my BMW is 20 years old this year and still like brand new , the kitchenaid stand mixer is like a pontiac
just awful
though by looking at the Bosch i don't think i would buy that either it looks like it mixes the balls , but it looks like it would take 3 hours to get all the batter out of it if you are baking a cake ,looks like way too much surface area to scrape ,i feel like i would lose about 1.3 of my cake batter if i used that thing or that i would be there for 2 hours trying to scrape it all off
so not thanks to either one

Why were the mixing attachments constantly being changed out in the Bosch? That's time-consuming, annoying, and difficult. And wasting batter. I can't believe it would take all 3 mixing blades to make cookies. And how do change them when you have a bowl full of batter?

I’ve had a couple of KAs but got rid of them and LOVE my Bosch. So much easier to add ingredients and less messy. Plus you get the added blender motor.
I’ve had three different KA, a Cuisinart 7Qt and a Bosch. The Bosch is by far the best among them. Yes, if you’re lucky enough to own the KA of years ago when they were made with metal parts, you’d probably be fine, but the ones of today are mostly plastic and strip easily. Was there a difference in the taste of the cookies? Also, why did you make two batches in the Bosch? Does it not work well with small loads?

When they are available again and offering complimentary cookie paddle kit, I will order.
Hi Dianna! Thank you for watching our video. We have some Boschs for sale at our St. George store, if you are interested. Please let us know if you have any questions!
@@BoulevardHome I just now saw your reply. Yes please send me information on the Bosch. Thanks

You can't use cold butter in the Bosch, I found that out the hard way. I wouldn't trade it for 10 KitchenAid mixers.
We are so glad to hear you found a Bosch you love. Thanks for sharing with us!
My mother, got her Bosch, in the mid '70's.
Tried to break it, for a few decades. Couldn't.
I'm the second of 7 kids. Six of us have Bosch
mixers, most the old Universal. Counting all the
time owned, probably close to a century. I only
know of one being taken apart. I wanted to
see how it worked, so I took it apart. Didn't
need to. The LARGE gear under the bowl, is
plastic. I did this on my $6 Deseret Industries
score. Six bucks for the Universal. There was
NO wear!
steve
Bosch hands down better . I Have had both kitchen Aid if you must slow down pausing at each gear or you will break of the gears . Also kitchen aid throws flour out even with shield on. I have have had my kitchen aid refurbished 3 times in five years . Went back to Bosch.
Bosch for any breads! Kitchenaide did smaller batches of things!
We found similar results. Thanks for sharing. Kitchenaid does seem to work better on smaller loads.
Koliko košta to para što sam ja te maslaca
I just wish the Bosch had a handle to the bowl.
Really wish you had tryed making something hard for the maschine, like a pizza dough with a lot of kneeding.
Hi Daniel! That's a great suggestion! We will keep your comment in mind for future videos :)
Nice review
We are so glad you think so! Thank you for watching :)
Team bosch 👌🏽 Bosch just better to make a bread dough too 😉
So awesome, I'm going to make this as my fav wishlist
That's a great idea! We love both Bosch and KitchenAid. Thank you for watching our video.
ruclips.net/video/hHmqm15PSdw/видео.html 👍👍👍
For every Bosch mixer sold 75,000 Kitchenaid mixers are sold. This video is so Bosch biased that I believe they made it.
You added flowers :)
Since my Bosch, I won’t even take out my kitchen aid
as i heard from a lot of people -Kitchenaid and kenwood are not strong as bosch -and dont make great work-bosch strong and power and dosnt dance-move like kitchenaid and kenwood whille mixing-if you are looking for just a name go for kitchenaid or kenwood but if you are looking for power and strong high quality mixer go fot Bosch
Why on earth would you only do one batch in the kitchenaid? That's not a fair comparison if you're doing different quantities!! ANY large mixer performs better with more batter. This comparison is so Bosch biased!!
You don't tell us which cookie tastes better?!?!?!
Tyler's of course.... :) Don't tell Linsey. LOL
I want a bosh
The Bosch is basically a blender based mixer
Can a Bosch handle a homemade pound cake? Great video ☺️
Yes! A Bosch would be great for making homemade pound cake. Let us know how it goes :)
@@BoulevardHome New subscriber. When I purchase a Bosch and make that pound cake I will let you know how it turns out😊
Bosch is almost bit down all other kitchen machine brand. :)
3rd Mix: Adding Baking Soda and "Flower"...really?
😂 - We never noticed that. Thanks for pointing that out.
Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your experience with your Bosch. That's awesome that it has lasted so long!
Why did you cook a double batch in the Bosch and a single in the KitchenAid. It should have been an apples to apples comparison so the test isn’t helpful.
Also, it’s “flour” not “flower”!
The bosh
This review is a joke. Why did Bosch get a double batch? In other reviews it's shown that the Bosch's design can't reach smaller quantities.
That’s not true at all actually! The Bosch can whip as little as 1 egg white. A kitchen aid can’t do that lol
I love my Bosch. My Kitchen Aid caused me so many headaches. It's just not even worth it for me. Function over aesthetics any day!
…sponsored by Bosch?
Proof that if you spin things a little bit, you can make anything look great.
Those are the quietest mixers I’ve ever heard. (great background music BTW) 😝
The Kitchen Aid actually performs better with a double batch, so you handicapped the test.
I wonder how well the Bosch kneads dough? (I’m sure it can hold it’s own, right.)
America’s Test Kitchens review on RUclips covers all the bases. Kitchen Aid was the clear winner.
Bosch makes some great stuff! Love my Bosch washer, dryer and dishwasher.
I remember that test and I don't think Bosch did well.
I remember seeing an ATK video, where the KA BROKE
during the test, and STILL came in at first place!
Payola?
I've yet to see ATK test a Bosch.

I have the same mixer and never have I had the problems which you are having. I love my Kitchen Aid!
Bosch is much better
No dough was made is this video
:")
4) kitchenaid mixers come with many more attachments then the Bosch
5) the kitchenAid will out preform a Bosch any day
We would disagree with you but thank you for sharing.
Lol what a joke., the KitchenAid Proline would blend the entire Bosch blender itself inside the KitchenAid Proline mixer
Wow! Sounds like we'll have to try the KitchenAid Proline next! Thanks for watching!

have nothing to do with it, perhaps call the manufacturer, but no number
was listed. We tried our luck calling Maison Condelle, the name listed
on Massimo packaging. They passed us onto a lady by the name of M.
