I'm sorry but legit open marriage seems like a horrible plan, to be devoted and love someone enough to marry them and then want an open marriage to date another guy is just wrong, you still love the guy but also another guy so your marriage just seems like a joke, then if the other end does the same, it feels like you're just friends living in the same apartment bringing people over, its not something i'd ever consider and he was right to be disgusted at first

I don’t think I’ve ever known a couple that actually had an open marriage. I have known couples that wife swapped. I don’t know why that seems to be different, but it seems to be for those who fancy that kind of thing.
As for her husband or ex-husband interacting with her again, she should take it really slow. Let him know that she’s always there for him. It very well could work again it worked for seven years she should understand the relationship would never be the same again, but they could put it back together. People put it back together all the time about the only thing I’ve seen that absolutely wrecks relationships Beyond recovery is the death of a child, but people can get over infidelity, especially something. He literally gave her permission, she checked multiple times to see if it was okay, openly communicated with him about her feelings, felt guilt over it, etc. I can't really understand why he was so horrible to her, he could've just said no or left her.
