I am watching this thinking, "Who in the world had this collection?!?!" Someones wife whos husband died? Why would you sell it like this and not just have them graded and sell on your own?
You're probably right, someone died and left it to someone else or the person who spent a lifetime collecting it needed to get money fast and decided to sell it all in one fell swoop.
Some people don't know about grading or that it will fetch way more

A 5.0 AF 15 at FMV goes for 50k so without factoring anything else that’s at least 50k. That X-Men 1 looked like a fine so that puts you at 14k FMV now if that AF 15 gets a 7.0 you are looking well over 100k. I’m going to guess 65k is what was paid.

Well, I started collecting in '64 but as soon as boards and bags came out, in they went.

I thought maybe it was done that way so they would all fit in one box or to keep mailing cost down. But I guess if it cost 150000 then mailing cost is not an issue. Beautiful comics, great job guys!

Don’t think I’m knocking them though as that is still a good amount, most dealers I know won’t give over 30% nor will deal with collectors. So what they are doing is still pretty good. Now if they didn’t pay less than 50k yeah might’ve been a steal since that AF 15 will go for over 100k probably depends but oddly enough AF 15s in high grade still sell crazy fast even considering the amount of money being spent.
@@TheTeddyBrosevelt I have known some dealers with deep pockets and will overpay for a collection. Because they are into the 2nd generation and are family owned business and can wait out other dealers. As you know " A book is only worth, what someone is willing to pay for it! Just like real estate, stocks it's all about ROI

Pedigree is only given to larger collections which are consistently extremely high grade. This isn't even close.
