I remember the first time I heard this. It was in 1972, Lemgo Germany. It was when we had the new Colours presented to the Battalion by Princes Alexander. All the Bull Shit that went on before hand was well worth it. The Bugles that day were outstanding in their Drill and Playing. I well remember Pip Morris I think it was behind the other Buglers, having to catch up to the Buglers as they advanced, as he caught up to them and the ''Check Step'' they did and then kept going. What an AWESOME Display of Drill! It will be in my head till I pop my clog's!
My Dad was a Light Infantryman ( 1 DLI ) and would often be playing his DLI/ Green Jackets/ Light Infantry / Light Division LP's when I came home from school in the 1970's. In the summer you could hear it down the street as i approached the house (married quarters in Colchester) great sounds - great times. He would put the Dli record on when he was decorating. He said it made him paint the ceilings quicker!!!
