John Pickford Thank you for your kind words concerning The Bi Centenary Parade by 1st Batt KRRC !! I must thank the Boys back from Afghanistan . Well done we are proud of you ! I would not expect a high standard of drill after your active service efforts just a few days ago ! And we had months of rehearsal . And let me point out that our rifles helped with our Dressing , the muzzle overlapped the butt of the man ahead . Plus we were ordered to Swagger!! The grass cancelled out the crash of our steel studded boots !! Pity !! Thanks again to the Chaps !! Incedently , our average age was 19 and our weight was around 10 Stones ! The Rifles now are such Big lumps I dought we could handle them close up !! 90 per cent of our boys were National Service .
Why are you whining about, I'm sure these gentlemen would of upped their game if they knew that you were viewing this vid. Considering they have returned from active duty, I really doubt they would of bothered with perfecting drill performance just for you. You should be proud of these men, instead of negative type remarks, WELL DONE MEN👍👌👍👏

To the contrary of the comments written by angry lizards on their ceremonial performance... I think the lads here put in a sterling effort considering their (at the time of the parade) recent return from Afghanistan. Top lads.
They're also marching at "rifle pace". That's too fast for the precision and swinging arms to shoulder height one sees at the King's Birthday Parade on Horse Guards.
Wonderful parade, drill may of been off but I have seen far worse and from what I read it was after a deployment so good excuse. Much love from New Zealand look forward to the day I get to serve
It makes me made when people who nothing about any regiment from the Light Devision. My Father was Durham Light Infantry, Myself Light Infantry, it takes some doing marching at a 140 paces to the minute and even more so 176, its not done for fun.
In my day attached personnel paraded with the regiment so I would imagine the LAD would have been on parade too, marching at the same speed and no doubt giving the RSM a hairy fit . Arte et Party boys Arte et Party.
Their drill wasn't even that bad. I don't know what people are complaining about honestly. The turn was a bit rough, but look at the amount of people there clapping and cheering. It might be difficult to hear the beat.

Glad I was in the Guards marching at a proper pace, marching at 140 paces per minute might be ok for shorter guys and the Ghurkas but looks wrong for taller guys and that square was a mess, it should have been swept first.

It was actually in the Rifles dress regs. When I was RGJ it was a very RGJ thing, but unofficial, then it was added as a form of dress, current regs show “not outside barracks.” RGJ-no two officers dressed the same and the whole regiment had to be different to the rest of the army!
The bugle playing was disgusting and out off tune, It sounded as if they were blowing raspberries! My father would have chewed them off for the equally poor and sloppy marching! He served with the colours for twenty-seven years!
The sound is bouncing around the walls of the barracks. I have been part of pipe bands on that parade ground (Redford Barracks in Edinburgh) and you get a triple beat of the bass drum. Where it is being filmed from there are more buildings behind.

Good to see the famous dance ‘the squaddie two Step’ incorporated into drill. That how I use to dance in the NAAFI.
The Light Infantry guys at Shornecliffe in Kent ( mid 1970's) marched faster than this, impressive sight to see.
No, they did not. There is one Light Div marching pace, 140. The Double is IIRC 160.
