You are part of an ever dwindling minority now ! I was a child when I saw
the Coronation of QE11 in 1953! Most ordinary homes did not have t.v. back then
but an aunt of mine did, so the whole family descended there to watch the
Coronation ! We are lucky to have lived through some of the best years,
AFTER the war, although we were impacted by that for some years due to food
and clothes rationing etc. did not finish until the mid fifties !
We went to schools that still taught the traditional stuff, religion, school started
every day with a religious theme, we were taught to be proud of our country and
celebrated all the special days, and our lessons were spared some of the ghastly
stuff , transgender etc. that poor kids are subjected to now,! I believe we were
a "lucky" generation. Hope you enjoy the Coronation.

I went horsebacking riding with girlfriends as a teen. Two out of the five knew how to ride horses. It doesn't look anything like on TV. The seat where I was supposed to get up seemed to be level with my head. And I was tall and overweight then, so a poor guy helped me up. (I bet he developed a hernia, seems reasonable.) Well, the three of us who did not know how to ride, our horses stopped at a nice shady spot and started eating grass. They were trail horses and one followed another, I think. We just started laughing because we didn't know any better. Well, the two smartypants that galloped off came back and asked us what was wrong. As if they didn't know. Well, horseback riding is not what it seems!
