I had one FUT procedure to transplant grafts to both my front hairline and crown area. I was very happy with the results and my stylist said the scar was barely noticeable.
However, one thing I suffered from was tenderness around the back of the head for several weeks. And it took years for all of my head to feel the same. Parts of my head felt numb. I was told it was due to nerves that were cut during the procedure that take a long time to grow back. It was a strange sensation but not painful.
Just want to put that out there.

@@ishantsingh1134 It took several years for my entire head to feel normal. However, you should feel it getting a little better every month. Again, it shouldn't be painful, it just feels tender the first year and then a strange numbness for a couple of more years afterwards.

Good luck, man. I was on finasteride for about 6 months.... everything was fine, then one night...BAM! most frightening month of my life. Mostly back to normal, but there was permanent damage. I promise you I am not an alarmist, just wouldn't want anyone to go through what I did. My recommendation, if any, would be to microdose and see if it does the trick. I would also commit to getting very regular blood work for T, DHT, estrogen, etc. Have a very good doctor in your corner to help monitor. Feel free to reach out for more info....

Can you give me an idea how long the pain would bother us after FUT? Does it affect your movements to large extent with terrible pain for weeks or months? I would appreciate your response. Thanks

It may help speed the growth of the transplanted grafts, but after that it wont make any difference to them. You should continue taking it to prevent further hair loss; i.e protect the remainder of your hair.

    • @AJUSA1

If your surgeon is as great as they should be, you will even feel them cutting the strip. You will have some tightness while the sutures are in while it is healing, then you will feel no difference whatsoever. FUT is the best procedure available. FUE has zero margin for error on thousands of extractions. FUT, all you need is a surgeon skilled with a scalpel and sutures which is much more likely. FUT doesn't damage the extracted hairs. THAT is the most important factor. More healthy hairs in a much faster process. Faster is better when it comes to transplanting anything live. Would you want a heart transplant to take a long time or be done quickly... Think about it. And the robot is a flawed method that has been marketed for people scared of the scalpel. Think about it.

Is it possible to do the surgery by making the patient unconcious so that the patient wont feel pain while performing the surgery? Unconcious means the thing doctors do when performing serious surgeries, i dont know the exact term for that sorry.

    • @mrxman581

The surgery itself isn't painful because they numb the area and if I remember correctly I was also given anesthesia intravenously. It didn't knock me out but I felt no pain. They specifically had an anesthesiologist to administer it and monitor me during the whole procedure.
It was a long day. It took about 8 hours. I had grafts placed along my front hairline and the crown. You do get a break after they harvest the grafts and before they start implanting them. I had an FUT done.

There's no pain at all. It was actually quite confortable. I got a FUT done and I could literally feel the doctor making the incisions and removing the strip of hair but it literally had Zero pain. It was a really weird experience but I found it quite alright. The pain in the 2 days follwing was definitely worse than the surgery lol. I'm sure if you get a FUE its even easier.

    • @codybell6882
      @codybell6882 4 года назад

@CVK yes. They get you to take Tylenol 3s (codeine)during the procedure, but they also use needles for local anesthesic, and it works great. Felt absolutely nothing.
The pain the day after was the worse, they prescribed me Oxycodone for that. It worked like a charm as well. After day 3 there really isn't any pain.

My hairdresser didn’t even pick it up . And there was no pain at all during the surgery and minimal post op .

FUT leaves a thin linear scar on the back of the head - they stitch up the strip and hair grows around and over the scar.
FUE leaves lots of small dotted scars around the back of the head which hair grows around.
The scars are where the donor hair was taken.
Do your research on which scars are more noticeable in your opinion.
