    I just had my Transplant on 11/7/22. I was wondering which is better to be honest and watched this video before. I would lean heavy towards the FUT procedure. For one your not systematically thinning your hair everywhere like in an FUE. And there was an added bonus that i dont think could of happened using the FUE procedure. I was scheduled for 2000-3000 grafts. Well my donor are was thick and i had very good elasticity. I ended up getting 6000 grafts from my FUT donor spot. They did double the amount of grafts and they didn't adjust the price at all. I'm almost certain they wouldn't have kept going on a FUE procedure to give my an additional 3000 grafts for free. I'm sure no one thinks about this when choosing which one to use. FUT seems far superior to me.

    Random fact (IMO;) 5:29 The "WAW" system is highly likely to be named after a classic type of guitar FX pedal called a "WahWah pedal" named or CryBaby brand expression pedal. • @51MontyPython
      @51MontyPython 2 года назад +2

      I'm afraid your question is more easily asked than answered, unfortunately. It's not an exact science, separating the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. Of course I would look at the doctors themselves, through their own marketing (though very cynically, taking it all with a grain of salt, remembering that they are after all essentially salesmen), but would tend to focus more on consumer reviews/reports, to the extent that you can find them. The best doctors do obviously tend to charge more, but just because one is more expensive than another does not necessarily mean they are actually better. So, it's not an easy thing, as I said. Wish it was, though. Research, research, research, is my main advice.

    Hi! I was wondering if a 4 follicular unit can be divided into two or maybe an individual unit itself?

    • @drgarylinkov
      @drgarylinkov  3 года назад +3

      It can be! Using a microscope you can divide grafts. I often do that for eyebrow cases.

    Why isn't FUT procedure used more if you are able to move more hair from the donor area?

    • @drgarylinkov
      @drgarylinkov  3 года назад +3

      Because of the linear scar. It’s hard to wear your donor area hair short.

    Great information doctor! New fan
    I’m debating between FUT and FUE because I’m kind of young (29) and I want to keep my donor area with as much Hair as I can in case I need it in the future so that’s why I’m inclined to FUT . So my question is..
    You get to choose what part of the back of the head they gonna cut? Or is always the same area of the back of the head? because i seen pictures and the scar is too low and I like to keep my sides very short and will love if the scar is is a little bit higher

    • @drgarylinkov
      @drgarylinkov  3 года назад +6

      It always comes from the safe donor zone in the back, sometimes coming onto the sides depending on number of grafts.

    I just had an FUE done and I wonder if I can get an FUT for my 2nd procedure. What’s the reason you recommend FUT first? If I get FUT and FUE, either way don’t I have the same number of grafts and even if I depleted my FUT strip with an FUE beforehand it doesn’t decrease my grafts because they’re already on my hairline? And the individual grafts that were extracted from non-strip donor area were going to be extracted after a 2nd FUE anyway? So it seems like it shouldn’t matter what you start with. Or am I misunderstanding something?

      @satyaskinhairsolutions Год назад

      You are right, if you are working on the hairline, FUE would give you better density & natural look. If you are working in the crown area for your 1st surgery, then FUT can be a better choice, as FUE would give you better hairline grafts, which you can save for future if needed.
      Anyway the number remains the same either ways. 1st FUT, followed by FUE is ok, but sometimes the hair can get pulled because of the scar of FUT, in the adjoining areas leading to higher transection rates of FUE, depending upon the extent of scarring.
      1st FUE followed by FUT, however poses the same challenge at microscopic level. But here you have an advantage that surgeon can visualise the grafts under microscope as FUT is not a blind procedure like FUE.
      You can draw your conclusions.

    Hello there, thanks very much for the video. But I just have a couple of questions that you could maybe answer. I was thinking of going with an FUE transplant. If these hairs are taken from the back of the head, what is the liklihood of these actually falling out again if that makes sense? Also I'm aware that you receive mediciation post op, which is to help with further hairloss. In your experience does the medication help patients? AS I have been taking Finisteride to help with further hairloss for the last 4-5 months and it has literally done nothing to combat the hairloss. Also with the FUE would the scars be very noticeable? For example I would get a fade haircut on the back and sides, so would any scarring be noticeable? Would very much apprecaite a response on this.

      Every clinic is different. We charge the same for FUT as we do for FUE with shave. Price goes up for FUE without a full shave in the donor area.

    Does punches are single use? Motor and hand?
    Or these punches need sharpening? Or they changed in motor sistem and don't change in hand old school method?

    • @drgarylinkov
      @drgarylinkov  3 года назад

      Good question. The punches are reusable but after about 4000 grafts they are usually discarded, since sharpening them reduces their efficacy. At least for the WAW punches that I use.

    I saw an ad where they were claiming that the saphir method was the most begning, when it comes to implanting the hair.
    They basically make a small aperture first and afterwards insert the hair follicles.
    Im skeptic about it. Cause I dont believe one can be so acurate and would end up enlarging the aperture.
    What is your take on the saphir method? Im not sure if thats how you say it english. In Germany they say Saphir...

    I have had 2 lots of FUE transplants here in Australia by Dr Ray Woods, who has claimed to have invented the FUE system. Whether this is true im not sure. I was very happy with the results although the actual numbers of transplants is very low compared to other types. Also there is little or no scar and what is there looks natural. My having a natural high hairline also doesn't help. He used to tell me he didn't want to tell other doctors of his techniques at the time was that most wanted to sacrifice time and quality in favour of quick time and lower quality, ie getting practitioners to do a lot of the work. He did most of the work for very long hours, he did not have practitioners. Some years have passed now and I see FUE practitioners popping up all over the world and im interested how they all learnt their methods.

    Why the procedures have to cut the skins to have the hairs to transplant it?

    • @drgarylinkov
      @drgarylinkov  3 года назад +1

      Because you want to capture the entire follicle so that it grows in the new location.

    Hello Doctor, I did FUT once (the procedure where part of skin is taken out), I was considering doing a second round after many years. I was wondering with FUT Vs FUE, which one offers more graphs i.e. more quantity of hair placed? From what I know, one procedure is less painful and less recovery, please advise, Thanks

      From what i have read. FUT give you a great % chance of having the hair survive.

      @Tyler Durden just had an FUT 20 days ago. Sorry but no. You get more viable hairs before they are even put in your head compared to FUE. Sorry BRO, facts don’t care about your opinion.

    • @Dub3God
      @Dub3God 2 года назад

      @Tyler Durden now as far as looking normal and getting back to normal in the quickest amount of time. I’ll give it to FUE no doubt. But I won’t take the 80% increase in $ amount per follicle. I got 2,500 FUT for $2.55 per. Not bad.

    • @Dub3God
      @Dub3God 2 года назад

      @Tyler Durden sorry $2.99 per. state side suburbs of Philly. Obviously Cali LA 90210 is gonna be up there in price. But I’m not paying $5.00+ per. Maybe in 10-15 years when I need like 500-1,000 for some maintenance. I wear my hair a little longer so the line means nothing and my scar healed perfectly so you cant notice even with a 2-3 on the clippers. numbers don’t lie. Of the 2,500 I got. Probably 2,400-2,500 were viable. Vs an FUE it’s anywhere from 1,900-2,400. Again I’m not making the numbers up. Sorry if you got screwed. Best of luck
