My grandma lives two minutes from the pyramid, there in Paseos del Bosque! The pyramid looks very cool at night because it shines! Very glad you went there!
"El Cerrito" se ubica en El Pueblito, en el municipio de Corregidora, Querétaro. Zona conurbada con la ciudad de Querétaro. El centro del pueblito también es lindo.
Thank you very much for the video... I didnt even know there was a pyramid in Queretaro. I learn so much about my own Country with you. Thanks a million.
We went there a few months back with the family and an annoying security guard harassed us for having a real camera saying only cell phones were allowed. It was pretty silly but it's a cool spot.
Some facts about this place, at the top there's an spanish building, the pyramid was covered with dirt by spainsh people to hide it, through the years nobody remembered there was a pyramid under that building, the people thought it was part of the mountain, and that's why it's called "el cerrito", and one day they discovered the treasure hiding below
I wish some day,I will be back with my family.. Mi México lindo!..you guys have your Spanish on point...thanks for sharing. Love yall video..Saludos desde San Antonio,Tx.
I just saw your latest video at the pyramid in El Pueblito and you were 5 mins from me ! I live right behind the pyramid! My chat classes are 5 mins from there in the historic town. We can get this done , please ! Luis
There's a really good place to eat at El Pueblito, they sell huge tacos with coloured handmade tortillas and they have lots of different fillings. They also sell tamales and atole, it's a hidden jewel that only a few 100% Queretanos like myself know and it's very cheap. Last time I went, we ordered food for 4 people and it was less than 300 pesos (including drinks) :) Look for it as "La Casa de Doña Toña" on Facebook, the address is there (the best day to go is Sunday, it's open from 8 AM to 2 PM). Since that day it's also tianguis day, try to go as early as possible because there's a lot of people!
El cerrito ,maybe is the best archeological zone from Queretaro, nature from this place is amazing, but is missing explore a lot of magical towns (pueblos magicos) in QUeretaro like San Juan del Rio , Sierra Gorda, or one of the thousand caves that exists in Queretaro, one of the states of Mexico which have more caves around the country , it have around 10,000 caves just in Queretaro. Great video. Good look in Queretaro, it's more quiet than Mexico city, I can understand why you move to Queretaro, Mexico city is a big chaos, althought is very interesting live there , but very stressful.
Did you guys have a chance to visit Teotihuacan while in Mexico City? totally recommendable. EDIT: never mind hahaha, just finished watching your video :-)
Hi guys, could you tell me which camera you used to record the video; since I live 5 minutes from the pyramid and I went to visit it and they wouldn't let me pass with my old Nikon D60 camera of only 10 Megapixels, because they argued that I couldn't enter with a "professional" camera and there was no human power to convince them that my camera was almost a relic, that my cell phone was more "pro" than my Nikon...Thank you and welcome to Queretaro, welcome to Mexico!
I like the fact that Queretero is not only charming and clean but quiet. I don't like crowds too much so it seems like my kind of place. But I wonder about getting around in Queretero. I don't drive, would I still be able to reach areas like this? How did you guys get there?
I thought they have a new museum on site, was it closed per the #KineticKurse? They have some of the pieces recovered form the archaeological site there, also, besides the pyramid there are the remains of the adjacent buildings marked around.
great question--Mexico City has some huge panaderias--like Ideal and Madrid. We haven't seen any like that here yet, but there are smaller ones very very frequently here in town!
Great to hear there are plenty of panaderias! ... thinking of a place to retire cheaply with quality of life and colonial grace in Mexico.. Your portraits of the city have been very, very helpful. Also, your enthusiasm level keeps me coming back! - Exactly what you want! - Also would be interested in Coffee house/bohemian atmosphere possibilities. Perhaps I should open one. As an acoustic musician, I will want a place to play. Also, have you found any type of interesting expats (possibly Mexican-American) in town? -
judypoohdy El Cerrito is in El Pueblito, in Municipio de Corregidora. El Pueblito is the name of the town where the pyramid is located in. El Cerrito is the name of the arqueological zone.
This pyramid and the aqua-duct are the only 2 things I have on my Queretero list of things to do....still hoping to maybe catch up with you guys for a few hours 1 of the days I am there so you can so us the good places to eat....
Loved the video guys, never even heard of the places but looks super cool. You guys always showing us new places. Putting it on my bucket list. Oh those ants are brutal, I been bit by them it hurts!
Often the Spanish built churches on Indian temples. The big church on the Great Pyramid of Cholula is the best example of this sort of cultural imperialism. The local deity, say the black Tezcatlipoca ,would be replaced by the black Madonna, for instance, to redirect peasant loyalties. Feast days were celebrated on the same days as the pre columbian feast days. The building in question in the video was quartered into four rooms and didn't look like a church though. Curious .
Go to the small aqueduct that is between Hercules and La Cañada, it is part of the great aqueduct that leads to the Templo de la Cruz, only that it is neglected because nobody knows it and it is not tourist.
¡Saludos!. Why did not you enter the museum next to the pyramid?, the place has some photos and archaeological pieces found during the excavations of the site.
So glad you went to El Cerrito! During the spring equinox there is a native ceremony of offerings to the Gods. I believe it is closed to the public but a friend was invited and made a video. Would be cool to see it for real. ❤️ loved the drone footage!
I am going to clear up some confusion more for myself! Lol El Cerrito and El Pueblito are the same pyramid! I questioned myself because I saw someone mention El Pueblito as another pyramid when I thought El Cerrito and El Pueblito are one in the same. After searching I found out that indeed it is the same pyramid. 😀
In the days of the equinox at sunrise, the sun casts its light on the pyramid and, in turn, its shadow on the hill opposite. I hope one day to go videotape this astronomical event. Tks guys!!! 🙏🏼🙌🏼
My favorite Dulces Mexicanos are cocadas, obleas, morelianas, dulce de camote and mazapan. And cajeta envinada, which goes well over toast and pancakes. I probably said too much. Showing my age there probably haha.
WOW!!! Beautiful place. I have an aunt that lives in QUERETARO from her house you can see another pyramid closer to Downtown Queretaro but it has not been unearthed yet. It is still with over grown grass and trees
My apologies. My cousin just reply he said is just that one. El Cerrito AKA Pueblito Pyaramid. Apparently last time I saw it was still unearthed and it is now semi excavated. T4S Greg & Hillary...also thanks for all the info..didn't know about the place. Definitely a place to check... hey you both watch you step...a gigantic 🐜🕷🦂 may crawl on you 🤣
I had wondered if y’all had known about that pyramid sinceyu moved out there, and I got my answer quick lololol; my mom’s side of the family is from a town 25 minutes away and I had always wanted to see this site since I heard it was close by.There is an archaeological site around San Miguel de Allende called “Cañada de la Vírgen” if you 2 are ever over there again.

Me gusta cuando la guera dice: Queretaro, Queretaro.

Muy cerca de Queretaro está " La Peña de Bernal" ya fueron ahí?
There's a really good place to eat at El Pueblito, they sell huge tacos with coloured handmade tortillas and they have lots of different fillings. One day maybe you will like to do the Puuc route in Yucatan...I did it, and is unforgettable. Just you need to rent a car.

Chivo El Cerrito and El Pueblito are the same pyramid. 🙂
judypoohdy El Cerrito is in El Pueblito, in Municipio de Corregidora. El Pueblito is the name of the town where the pyramid is located in. El Cerrito is the name of the arqueological zone.
The pyramid site is in Villa Corregidora AKA "El Pueblito", a conurbated municipality to the city of Querétaro.
Chivo yes I know, I was commenting on the fact many people refer to the Pyramid as El Pueblito
Chivo yes I know, I was commenting on the fact many people refer to the Pyramid as El Pueblito
Where is Hillary's "colorful" backpack?
People are asking. :)
Those ants are called " mochomos" in north of México. Their bite os very painfull. Be care.
yeah they were huge so I bet when they bite it hurts super bad!
I think you guys should subtitle your videos in Spanish, that would be amazing so Mexicans and Hispanics can watch them

Go to parque el Cimatorio!!
Claudia Velasco Yes! It has the best views of Queretaro.
Yes, I support that idea! It is the best view of the city. "El Cimatario"

it really was super pretty there! And yes--I can imagine that bite would be terrible!
Esos eran balazos? 🔫
What was the square structure with corner turrets on the pyramid's summit? It has a very un-precolumbian look.
it was hard to tell--we could not go up there, only what we could see on the drone footage

There you go guysss! Nice video, good drone shots, I'm happy you got out of your comfort zone. More of this please.
Thank you!
Go to the small aqueduct that is between Hercules and La Cañada, it is part of the great aqueduct that leads to the Templo de la Cruz, only that it is neglected because nobody knows it and it is not tourist.
interesting! We will have to check that out!
It's so old even the church on top of it is a ruin, weirdest part is you can still see the plaster the pyramid was covered with at the bottom.
La guera for. Presidenta, Replacing. Margarita zavala
When in Mexico, I live like an hour and a half from Queretaro and I didn't know about that piramid. Thanks Goyo y Güera.
it was really cool!
Very cool. You guys are funny.
You might not be far from.Tula which is another important ancient ruins.
we will have to look that one up!
You have to try garambullos if there's any available, it's like a blueberry but from a cactus and there's some with peppers(cactus)
¡Saludos!. Why did not you enter the museum next to the pyramid?, the place has some photos and archaeological pieces found during the excavations of the site.
it was closed :(
Wish I was there, nice!

Beautiful place. I have an aunt that lives in QUERETARO from her house you can see another pyramid closer to Downtown Queretaro but it has not been unearthed yet. It is still with over grown grass and trees
Are there any archaeological teams planning to excavate that unearthed pyramid?
Po'Mex Travelador hi, what’s the name of the other pyramid? I thought El Cerrito was the only one.
Not sure, I just send a What's App to my cousin. Hopefully he can give me more information on it.
Cool:) could yu specify what cross-streets that unearthed pyramid is near?
My apologies. My cousin just reply he said is just that one. El Cerrito AKA Pueblito Pyaramid. Apparently last time I saw it was still unearthed and it is now semi excavated.
