    Forget PV sounds harsh😳No hard feelings. Coming up with titles that attract attention is soul crushing! The two cities really can't be compared. They are so vasty different. But if you want something much smaller and more quiet, lo de Marcos seems like a good option. But let's keep in mind we were only there for a couple of hours 😃

    • @Mr7h21
      @Mr7h21 Год назад +2

      I was checking out lo de Marcos a couple of years ago as a possible place to retire. I found that the limited housing/lodging had been grabbed up by Canadian/U.S. snowbirds and expats and if you could find something the prices have been driven up do to demand. If you're just visiting there are a couple of hotels and limited RV parking. The streets are empty and quiet Mon-Fri as most of the men work in PV during the week. But come Friday night, Saturday and Sunday out come the BBQ's and beer.

    The Mexican government and developers have big plans to develop the coast north of PV (and the south too) up to the town of San Blas, and as you’ve noticed, there are mega infrastructure projects going on. You will see all these little towns developing in the upcoming years. There are many charming coastal towns and the demand and interest in this area is great. Water management and sewage (environmental is a huge issue and hasn’t kept up with the development. Sayulita has had sewage issues in the past. Hopefully it is being addressed.

    Seven or so years ago, the VRBO owner in Sayulita took us to Lo De Marcos. He just built a house there , Casa Vulkan( still remember the name!) and was showing it to us , as a cheaper alternative to Sayulita. I remember we had lunch on the beach, I had octupus , delicious… Beautiful beach, but the town was depressing, I remember old deteriorating hotels , abandoned houses by the beach, and it all looked sad. As if the place died at one point and there was a reason for that ( we didn’t know ).. may be with Sayulita prices and the wrong crowds it attracts now, LDM is livelier.. but for some reason I still think that there is reason why it did die and never revived! Especially because around it really busy towns - San Pancho and Chacala on the north.. You guys should visit Chacala and hike Alta Vista!!

    Punta Mita, Sayulita, Guaymas, Cabo, Huatulco. One by one the peaceful serenity of Mexico is being destroyed. De los Marcos is certainly next. There are still places, I won't say where, where you can still find peace and serenity along the coast in Mexico, but its getting harder to find them.
