My mate made a filter for use trekking through Africa and used ceramic filters inline with a submersible pump that he could chuck into a body of dirty water and get clean drinking water out the other end. And th ceramic filter is cleanable. He had other campers asking him to pump water for them all the time.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I grew up surfing down south and 3 bears in the early 80s. While I love living in the desert in Phoenix I miss the South West terribly.

Just a thought - how about showing a couple of minutes unedited footage one week so we can see how much effort goes into the editing?

Great episode, very interested in the Womo filters, they look the goods. What we have noticed with bush camping is: bush camp = bush toilets + no buried waste = lots of flies. There are certainly some grubs that camp in the bush!

Just looked at your stats and thought you would have had double the subscribers and quadruple the views considering the quality of the vids and the areas your travelling…
Love the content and definitely given us some ideas on tracks to do! Need to see more action like the older vids mate!!
Keep up the great vids guys!

The upgrades/tweaks to The Outfit are very interesting. Somethings only become apparent with experience.
The water filter system looks good.
You could screw one of those pelican cases kits to your mudguard to protect the system instead of a sock.?

    • @TheOutFit
      @TheOutFit  Год назад +1

Glad you found them interesting. At this stage those little tweaks make a big difference for our day-to-day living.
The sock is just to block sunlight. A case would work potentially.

They are bush flies, according to the experts recently, totally harmless, they only come to you for moisture and don’t hang around garbage or spread disease. Solution is to wear a fly net and wide brimmed hat to put it on. WA is famous for its wide diversity of wild flowers, keep spinning that camera around. Would it be helpful to have separate audio recorder? I’m back to enjoying your channel after some hard times. Great to see little Chris. Naturaliste is French. The wind sweeps up across thousands of kms of ocean from Antartica. Great vlog. Thanks.

Thanks a lot :) We think the flies were breeding in the decaying seaweed on the beaches but not 100% certain. Separate audio altogether is a lot of work too. A shotgun mic on our Sony is ideal for us. Hopefully I can fix the port. Cheers

    • @TheOutFit

I have watched many of your videos and always enjoyed them. Thank you for the content. However this episode worried me. There are a lot of signs in that area stating that camping is only allowed in the designated campsites. It worries me that tracks will continue to be closed if access to these areas is abused.

Still enjoying you weekly footage. But it would be good to see again more of maintenance work you are doing on the way, as well as a map with your journey and destinations to follow your journey. This sometimes a bit hard to follow.

You’re rocking it as usual. Glad to see the mog going strong. My concern is with the baby on board how confident are with 4o year old truck in the middle of no where? Have you had major repair/ restoration/upgrade work done on the truck so far? Do you have 352 or 366 engine?

"Touch Wood" Bowser has been bullet-proof. We regularly trust it with our lives to a certain degree. Feel free to watch our earlier build series to see what work we did on the Mog. Original OM352.
