Well, Jinx DID kill Vi's sister in the "Darth Vader killed Anakin Skywalker" sense.
Powder saved Vi by killing Jinx’s father. Jinx avenged her father by killing Powder.

I was wondering about that a whole lot while watching arcane tbh 🤔 😅

"Wants VI to catch her, and hold her and make the choas make sense, like a big sister is supposed to." This hurts not an insignificant amount.
Jinx’s actions eventually just becoming a projection of her internal pain or a cry for help would be a really interesting direction.

I think Jinx has one of the most well thought out and successful character designs as it made her into the unofficial mascot for League of Legends
She is Kinda official mascot for LoL wild rift.

After watching Arcane, I really like your theories about Jinx's future, particularly Jinx forgetting what the chaos is all about. I could easily see her mental state deteriorating over time, only made worse by the shimmer augmentation, to the point that she becomes the full on chaos gremlin we have in the game; forgetting who she used to be and exactly who Vi and Caitlyn are, only knowing that they are important to her.

For how she interacts with her weapons, one of Ekko’s quotes towards her is him saying he used to have a crush on her before she “started talking to the gun”. I think its interesting since it implies perhaps she wasn’t always so crazy.
@@happypepper9326 Yes. Perhaps that is what could have happened. Fiddlestick’s line towards her is “Jinx all of your fault” and Warwick’s line towards her mentions a fire happening or some sort. Very interesting how riot chooses to reveal whats going on with her and connected characters
@@llmtxll3654 Well now I'm absolutely certain she blames the hypothetical deaths of her and Vi's parents on herself. Probably died due to spooky underground criminal things. Vi copes with it by policing, Jinx copes by blowing up who she blames. Because, let's be real, any crime syndicates in Zaun are absolutely affiliated with, or even run by the rich in Piltover.
But then I wonder what happened. I don't think someone just goes full crazy. Idk I would think she might take some drugs to forget the past? In the trailer it seems she is holding on to the past

Jinx has in interaction with Kalista in Legends of Runeterra that stands out to me. Kalista: "Your spirit burns with sorrow." Jinx: "Me? You got the wrong lady, lady." Even though she denies it I think this lends a lot of credence to the "broken bird" theory.

Same. That would be such a heart wrenching character development. Honestly, with all the hints from her bio and other character's interactions with her, Jinx gives me some extremely sad vibes. Yeah, she this bubbly, crazy psychopath, but what drove her to that point? Damn I can't wait for Arcane.

Rewatching "get jinxed" after arcane completely recontextualizes her video. It's 3 minutes of a child in an adults body screaming "help me, come find me, I can't stop."
I think Ekko will play a role here because he has an interaction with Jinx and many with Vi

In show it seemed he was only one to bring Power back without Jinx snapping right back instead.
On bridge that was all Powder ha ing fun with her old friend again. An seemed in that moment she felt it all in that small pause looking up at him am the bomb wasn't Jinx but was Powedee wanting to go out as herself the same way she accidentally killed her other friends an family (but then we see she lives an is injected with Shimmer so....)
Am very curious to see if Ekko can still help an get through the Shimmer an Jinx to Powder or he completely given up on her now
This is fun to watch after having just watched Arcane, but with no real history with League lore. I have no idea what in the show was based on the game lore, and what was new/show specific, but regardless the depth of the characters really surprised me.
But league already has a “Batman”. Her name is Shauna Vayne (Vayne = Wayne)

Not gonna lie, this *could* make sense. Like what if, the purple stuff (from the newest Arcane trailer) that makes jinx go crazy had traces of Brackern crystals and when Jinx was exposed to it she could hear the voices calling out for help, leading her to go in sane and destroy Piltover because they're the ones using the hex-tech and making a profit off it? I mean what's more, with maybe the exception of Zap, all of jinx's weapons are made in Zaun, where hex-tech isn't a thing and at best it's synthetic knockoffs.
@@woodburn9539 It's a good idea, but what about the LoR's Piltover & Zaun cinematic? She stole a hextech crystal (at least I'm sure that's what it was) from Heimerdinger and used to to try and upgrade Fishbones, only for it to make the rocket launcher fly all the way to Zaun

Beginning of character design peak
I believe it's just that Jinxes head got the Joker treatment and is trying very hard to show her sister SOMETHING a message or a cry for help.
Bouncing off of the "Jinx killing Vi's Sister story", what if Vi's sister had Blue hair and once Jinx killed her, She dyed her hair blue and has been tormenting Vi ever since.
Also, can we get a what's the deal with Taliyah? My stone weaving daughter seems to be pretty underrated.
And what if part of her behavior/lines were reflecting Vi's sister (Like Vi's sister would have called Vi "Fat hands" if she ever saw her with her vault breaker gauntlets ect) to really make their cat and mouse chase feel to Vi as chasing not just her sister's killer, but her own sister? Would really make give a different meaning to the line "You think I'm crazy? You should see my sister" and their implied sibling ties...
I mean technically your not wrong, powder did die, and jinx was truly born.
You forgot the Ziggs comic, it gives a small incite into Jinx by contrasting it to Ziggs. Jinx does not understand what she's doing, she is a child who doesn't realize her actions have consequences. At one point she attempts to blow up the police department and succeeds and slowly come to the realization of what she just did and starts to feel shame. But then it's revealed all the police survived and then she goes. " yay now I don't have to learn from my actions now." (I don't know the exact line but that's I think basically what she says) it basically confirms she's not evil just really dumb.
It's fun because if I were to refer to her joke where she talks to the rocket launcher, I'd say that she knows what she does, but she just doesn't care. The fact that she makes her weapon talk about responsibilities and she just brushes it off really give that vibe that she knows how to "be good" but she just doesn't care

Would even go as far as to say after losing her family an being taken in by Silco she has been trapped in this perpetual state of regression. Time moves on but she will stay in this childlike state cause is fun an she can be happy as long as she stays in this bubble she's created where she doesn't have to face what has really happened. None her mistakes matter now cause was all for fun an just a silky mistake.
Is sad but also VERY compelling to see if she'll ever "snap out of it" and be able to face reality an all the loss etc.

I am so hyped. As a former Jinx Main I still love her Design in terms of looks but also in terms of crazy personality. Sometimes its kinda difficult to create a crazy Character that has a lot of fun but that u can also take seriously.

I think it’s very interesting that Warwick has interactions with Jinx, saying “You were there!” And “Let me forget!”, which insinuates that these two are linked, either before or after Warwick became the Howler, so along with some of Warwick’s other intruiging voice lines and story threads (see him actually saving a girl that he hunts during his story) I really really hope he gets explored more, probably not in Arcane :(

I gotta say, I really like this new direction for the What's the Deal series, including a section about their lore/future lore and speculation for what they can be. I never get tired of hearing you talk and theorize what and how a champion can grow/improve their character design. Can't wait for the next one, maybe some of the older champs of how you could imagine them in a rework!! Like, What's the Deal with Corki?
I loved the section of what if, especially what it could be it’s amazing how many other direction a character can take and I NEED TO see more of this
Especially when you did the character analysis with a positive bias for Gwen like oh god that was such a good breath of fresh air, all the positive vibes and some of the reasons players can love the champs by what they are with their own flaws and strengths
Honestly, him hating on so many other champs but praising a clear cash grab like gwen was annoying. He started to seem like a guy who is rebellious just for the sake of it.

I find it funny that people call Jinx a knock off Harley Quinn but a more apt comparison would be a female Joker. Post watching Arcane she's not really either. She's not as deranged as the Joker but she doesn't suffer from the same kinds of trauma as Harely and I'm happy that she's come into her own.

I really liked the "Where the story can go" segment. Jinx killing Vi's sister would be *the* plot twist for Arcane. Unlikely to happen, I agree, but still.
It also made me think of Cicero in Skyrim... This Cult assassin, who got a contract on a clown, and the clown never stopped laughing until his Final breath, And that laugh haunted Cicero until he became an maniac harlequin himself.
Imagine IF in the so reference "Accident" Jinx took part of, she killed Vi's little playful sister, and that haunted her to the point the little girl's joy fused with Jinx already destructive behaviour, creating the girl we know today.

I love Jinx, she was my first LoL unlock. I acknowledge her similarity to Harley Quinn, but I agree the similarity is mostly surface level.
In light of Arcane.. I watch the first 6 eps. So weird seeing her express anything but sadistic glee.
Plus everybody forgets Jinx had the mix of blue and pink way before Harley did!
And her vocal mannerisms and personality traits were based on Gollum, Heath Ledger`s Joker and Helena Bonham Carter in "Harry Potter" and "Fight Club."

@@jonathanbaker4361 Based on. The dev team admitted it. "Our idea for Jinx was basically Heath Ledger`s Joker as played by Helena Bonham Carter with a splash of Gollum." People assume Jinx was based on Harley Quinn but honestly we were not thinking of Harley at all until the fans brought it which somewhat influenced her redesigns". The woman who drew and animated Jinx, admitted that if it were up to her, the character would be even more evil and Goth punk like than she ended up similar to "Arcane" Jinx.

I waited to watch this for a month, because Jinx was the character who got me into League. She’s special and I wanted to make watching this special. I’m a support main now and don’t play her often, but she’s still my girl, and I’ve always loved how fun she is to play, even when I’m losing hard it’s easy to have fun with her. I think you did her justice. Thank you.

I like the broken bird perspective. Sort of. Like in the start it really IS just Jinx having fun and loving explosion and causing mayhem and not knowing/remembering/realizing the trauma that happened to her, be it normal trauma or some chemicals making her bonkers. And an encounter with Vi, something she says or does, or something else, TRIGGER a downward spiral for her, that makes her relive/realize her trauma one piece after the other, which could lead to an emotional breakdown (Or FULL madness) and it ends with Vi and Jinx either ending the other or reconciling. Maybe Vi's whole thing is either bring back the person who used to be her sister, be it with hextech, fists, magic, medicin whatevs. Or end the person who has taken her place.
Dude, your second insane idea with them all teaming up... you don't know how bad I want that.
(Also, love that segment, definitely continue doing it!)

One of the things that kinda annoys me is with arcane coming out and being a smash hit it introduced new people to league that don't know the old lore as a result they look at this jinx and complain that she needs to be redesigned or have her base skin changed to the arcane skin without knowing that arcane jinx and lol jinx are two completely different characters and as such need different designs to reflect this. Both skins are good but arcane jinx design doesn't work for lol jinxs personality and vice versa
My favourite Ideas fo the future:
The broken bird story lines just seems so natural that it would only make sense
But the 3 Working together sure sounds nice. Bet such a fan fiction would be fun no matter how crazy
It's insane how low the expectations for this show were compared to what we got even from League fans. And this guy doesn't even sound like his expectations were all that low to begin with.
As it turns out, non of the above. She kills everyone she loves by accident while trying to help and goes coo coo! Can't really blame anyone for guessing wrong though, I don't think anyone expected arcane to be this good!

What would be fun is if jinx did something and the ChemTech/HexTech that changed her also made Vi forget her and it in turn broke her when big sis Vi said something along the lines of " i don't have a sister" when she had been the last thing keeping her together.

I really do like the future segment. It's kind of nice to have some good-old off the walls theory ideas.
Honestly, I loved the 'working together to take down the system'. That fanfic idea is very tempting XD

I think jinx could still be a genius mastermind while being a chaotic gremlin, no pretending or anything, i think the contrast fits

Watching this after Arcane is surreal.
An insane twist for Vi/Jinx would be for one to a figment of the other's imagination. Making Vi the 'real' one would be more interesting, as she seem more sane, making it more of a twist, and implicating her as committing Jinx's crimes. While this would not work with strict, or even loose, continuity, that has not be a barrier for any franchise before.
