  • Hi! I've recently gotten a few comments on my videos about how I seemingly have no recoil when shooting so I thought I'd make a vid explaining this technique ^^ This is just my current understanding of how things work in the game, I don't have any insider info or anything, this is just what I've gathered from my own testing. I hope it's helpful :D
    ALSO I DONT USE S TO STRAFE RIGHT I USE AN ALT LAYOUT I JUST FORGOT TO CHANGE IT FOR THE FOOTAGE LOL

    strafing to aim is a very different concept from strafing to dodge, luckily for me the anti mirror strafing recoil control that ive used in apex for so long just transferred over subconsciously

      I've been doing it for years too since I picked it up from Apex. Funny thing is that after a long break from it I didn't remember why I was doing it, but I still kept up the tech. Now that I relearned movement smoothing I think it'll be much more effective as I'll use it consciously,@@past-tense-of-draw

Also, ask her to show mouse movement like in this video if she is dare to do so. Stop arguing if you think she can't do it live.

    I have been playing this way in the finals and I genuinely had no idea that I was doing it. It's just I how learned to play KB+M from playing CS:GO and Gmod surfing as a kid/teen. Since moving with your mouse aim is just a fundamental part and I never dropped it. I had been wondering why my aim with the revolver is awful, but my aim with the M60, SMG's and other weapons is as close to a laser my hands can manage.

    Tbh I don't think recoil smoothing is a real mechanic that was implemented by devs, it's just a natural consequence of the math for calculating bullet trajectory in a lot of games that if you rotate the origin point while rotating your aim point in the opposite direction horizontal spread is diminished unless it's like CS or valorant that specifically add recoil when moving. There's no vertical compensation due to movement (tested with separate x/y sensitivities) so it adds up to me. The math behind it is kinda intuitive to me so it's a struggle to explain more explicitly but yeah pretty much most games have it to some extent but may not have fast enough strafe speed to utilize

    Great video, very informative! Perfect format. I don't think I'll be playing this game or Apex. I prefer when good accuracy comes from fire control, bloom reaction, and character positions that increase accuracy like crouch or prone, at the sacrifice of mobility and entering an exiting position animations.
    Sadly, it appears that there has been a massive surge in players using hardware to emulate controllers in order to gain the advantages of mouse and keyboard on top of the AA advantages of using a controller. I've also seen multiple types of software/scripts be used to circumvent recoil all together that are undetectable. The idea of cross-plat was a childhood dream; It's disheartening to see what cross-plat has caused. While some of these devices are technically legal and won't get you banned, it does not mean it's ethical to use them. Good luck to all of you who stream FPS games with honesty and integrity. I don't evny the rat race and the amount of effort one must put into proving to their audience that they aren't cheating these days.

    Brilliant information, coming from other FPS games I felt something was "off" about the recoil in the finals. Something about it just felt inconsistent. Sometimes it felt like there was no recoil at all and tracking was easy, sometimes your gun would seemingly go out of control and you're spending all the effort just keeping your crosshair level. Makes total sense now I understand quick horizontal movement dapmens your guns' recoil.
    I was just wondering however, in a lot of the clips you used here, you're tracking long range targets that aren't moving very quickly in relation to your view. Am I right in saying that you're not getting much recoil smoothing here despite strafing left and right because you're not moving your mouse fast enough for the smoothing to take effect? I tried testing it out in the range and a little in game and I felt like you only get a good amount of smoothing in close range when your target is able to move quick enough across your view.
    I've seen some people talk about moving your mouse erratically while controlling recoil (jitter aiming) to get the same smoothing effect on slower targets. Though from what I've seen of that, it just seems to throw off your aim too much to be worth it. Have you experimented with this at all?

    • @ViscoseOCE
      @ViscoseOCE  8 месяцев назад

      i have tried jitter aiming but didn't think it was overly useful in this game, at ranges it would work smoothing is better and at ranges where it doesnt its too inaccurate imo. generally on the clips where im not moving enough or they are too far, im shooting the latter half of the magazine out where there is very little recoil generally. How i typically shoot is that I start by antimirroring to get the benefits of recoil smoothing then swap to mirroring after around 15 bullets, since the recoil is minimal at that point anyways

  • @Corzappy
    @Corzappy 8 месяцев назад

    Since The Finals is a movement shooter I find myself doing this completely by coincidence.
    If someone jumps in at me I'll spam strafe and crouch in order to move my head hitbox around as much as possible, and as a result my character's aim point will move, and my mouse will move to compensate. I never really realized it I just knew that the more I move the more I seem to win gunfights.

    I feel so exposed. how dare you shine a light on this little gem. (not really more people should take sound knowledge of this and implement it if suiting their playstyles)
    even just in theory of strafe control, doing this will keep you well versed and active with your movement on another level.

    Really nice video! I didn't know that recoil smoothing in The Finals was dependent on the speed you're moving the mouse. Thank you for making this video! Also, from an aimer's perspective, do you think that focal length scaling is something that can hinder your aim or is this something that is dependent on personal preference?

    • @ViscoseOCE
      @ViscoseOCE  9 месяцев назад

      focal length scaling is an interesting one, personally i dont like having it on by default since it massively lowers the sensitivity when ads'd, i prefer to control how much lower it is but i dont think its objectively worse for aiming at all

    • @diaperamess
      @diaperamess 9 месяцев назад

      recoil smoothing is always dependent on mouse speed in every game that it exists. ppl think it's dependent on strafing but strafing just helps, it isn't the reason recoil smoothing activates
