To make someone ill, under-fed, long hunger, I thought the movies knew how to convey this long before this movie was made. It’s called make up. Then make them look a little better because the Capitols care for the tributes, then make them look worse as The Hunger-Games goes on. Plus something else that is conveyed poorly is how long this kids are in the arena. Have Peeta ask Katness, have Ceaser say that they are coming up on day whatever, have a cute little Day 1 pop up on the screen just before the horn goes off then add it here and there just so the people who haven’t read the book knows how many days the Huger Games have gone on. And then there’s the end when they get pulled into the hover craft Peeta gets taken off for treatment and looks like he might die, switch to the room Katness gets held in and dolled up again. Before Katness finds out horribly that Peeta had lost his leg right on stage. They could have done more of the book with more clipped scenes, throughout, trying to tell more than they did. Instead of adding stupid stuff that wasn’t even in the book, aka the original script to begin with.
The actress who played Clove auditioned for Katniss, and I think she would have been perfect. She was 15, and looked a little more like I pictured the character while reading the book.
@@Melvin-Deeply Yeah, I always felt like her editor pulled her aside and said “no, you can’t end it that way. You have to make it happy. Write an epilogue.” It feels so forced and out of place
I feel the need to comment here purely for your algorithm benefit, lol. I never actually read the books, as the premise was wholly uninteresting to me. When I saw the trailers or bits of the films... I was somehow even less interested. Yet at the same time... yeah, I can still see some of your issues with the alterations made if you're a fan of the writing.
@@farvithianguard I wouldn’t necessarily suggest the series, but I would suggest the first book to anyone who writes simply because looking at different way of writing is great and hers is VERY different

@@horseygirl6232 Yes! They condensed the time a lot for no reason I’ve ever been able to figure out. And makeup can do wonders. Excellent comment!

@@louisacoote2337 I did not know that! That’s really interesting and now I’d love to have seen that version of the movie

@TheGourdKing I mean, theoretically the only reason it’s a greater weakness for you than me is you’re easier to eat raw 🤣
I really hated the ending. The ending of the last book, that is. Killed the whole thing for me.

the smartest goat on the internet...well, definitely top five at the very least.
Now I feel like I need to make a top 10 short of goats smarter than me. 🤣
