The new ones act as a spin off, its more humourous and a bit laid off. I don't think they are supposed to match the old ones. It's cool that they didn't give them major stakes for once, it's just meant to be for fun.
Okay but the one thing that kept cycling through my head while I was reading TSATS and.. whatever the name for the new slice of life highschool Percy Jackson book is that they both read like fanfictions. Like Rick was trying too hard to emulate the vibes his older books had, which makes sense ig. I couldn't finish either book because of that and I'm still somewhat in the age range that Rick writes for. I couldn't have aged up mentally THAT fast.
I didnt read the sun and star but that bianca typo is insane 😭 chalice of the gods had tonsss of continuity errors too, and in wrath of the triple goddess percy mentions leo tutoring him in spanish even though everyone still thinks leo is dead, like rick its your own story 💀
Percy acts more childish in the new ones . The new ones don’t really hold a candle to the originals. I reread them as an adult and for me they still hold up well.
The first movie on its own is actually good. I watched the movie not knowing about the books, and it made me want to pick them up. I wasn't a reader as a kid, but after I discovered the series and read them and fell in love when I was 17, I needed all of the books to read! 13 years later and epic fantasy is my main genre I read, Percy still brings me so much comfort
they will always be as good as they were in 4th grade

Exactly!! The fanfictionness of it all was too much to handle 😔
my entire class also has godly parents! I'm a son of Hephaestus, and my best friend is a son of Athena
That’s a powerful duo

If I tried to watch this video 1 billion times it’d take 20,000 years
Well at least the Olympians can do it
Yup XD

Exactly!! It feels like they aged down somehow, but those first five will always be awesome
Boy oh boy do I love the Percy Jackson movies!!!!
Someday I’ll make a video proving how awesome they are

What mic do you use? I think it sounds amazing and I'd like to get one!
It’s an audio-technica AT2035 condenser mic I’m pretty sure!
I loved the original books and was really disappointed by the sun and the star, I ended up dnfing it
It's devastating having to DNF a book in such an awesome universe 😔
You look like You're out of the pj series
u ate
I fell asleep literally hearing your voice and I just woke up with you saying the most unhinged stuff😭😭😭
I call that a win
