    What I got from this video is different than other freight broker "experts" recommend to engage the shipping manager in conversation by asking many questions. I see the wisdom in a simple, direct, to-the-point offer for being a back up.

      Look at it this way…the sadness of rejection and the happiness of success are two emotions. Your brain is going to feel a certain way but you can consciously decide whether you take pain or pleasure from the reaction. You are well within your abilities to reprogram your thinking to have a positive reaction to any outcome. Positive or negative is up to you. We are not robots lol

    I’m sorry, but a prospect giving you their email is just a way to get you off the phone. You better push for more than that unless we are just doing a training wheels exercise here. Unfortunately, it is just too hard to get them on the phone regularly unless we are calling small operations.
    I do appreciate that you’re trying to help newcomers. Freight cold calling isn’t easy because we are all essentially providing the same service and just trying to convince that we’re the best option. That takes rapport, which takes time on the phone.

    • @freightskills
      @freightskills  Год назад

      Every intention is to get you off the phone but I would estimate 85% of shippers don’t want to deal with anything but email today so getting an email is the first step to building the rapport. Shippers aren’t giving their email out to every single broker that calls a lot of it is just timing and luck too. We’ve won loads the same day an initial cold call was made and sometimes it takes 6 months so it’s not necessarily who is the best at building rapport. Just a matter of right place, right time. That’s why call volume is as important as call quality

    Keep it short. I appreciated that the most. Some will. Some won't. So what. That was great as well. Thank you for these videos. I appreciate what you do. I use scripts, kind of. I don't use them verbatim, but more as a guide. I do the research on every business I contact and find it very effective in my approach. But, yes, scripts are beneficial especially initially. Just as a confidence builder, and soon you realize that you don't really need them anymore.

      @@freightskills Yes, but I am not arrogant enough to believe that there is not A LOT of room to grow and learn lol. Your videos are a huge help and an inspiration. Thank you.
