Muay Thai practitioner here- I desperately needed this. Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!

Same, Muay Thai, Capoeira and Taekwondo. This absolutely helps
Need to try it.
I perform Olympic level mental gymnastics
Bob and Brad are my two reasons for living
I hope you have a few more!!
reason we can keep moving &
living!
Lost in translation, I hope!
Seriously
You must ne very poor! They are more clowns then anything else.
Wow, this is amazing.
I had problems with a high kick, even despite my good stretch I could not do a high side kick. After 5 minutes of this stretching I kick much higher than after years of training.
Wow wow wow
Bless you
...
I'm going to kick somebody right now
Lol
I suffer pain when lifting the leg to the side, whether right or left, the pain is at the fixed pelvic joint, but when lifting in front, there is no pain.
Will this exercise help me get rid of the pain? Thank you
@@user-lp5bt7hh9l maybe but u should probably go see a doctor
👏🏼👏🏼🤣🤣
That's good bro. That's the purpose of martial arts to kick somebody's ass
I am 68 and have been training in martial arts since my mid-teens. Stiff hips have always been a problem for me but these exercises have already improved my hip flexibility. Thanks from the UK gents!
I took a few years off and somehow I can’t kick (sideways) above my own waistline. I never noticed the flexibility actually go away and now it’s painful to even try. Glad I found this, I’ll start working on it asap.
Ok Bob. It is time to show us all up, and do the splits!
XOX
As a muay thai guy I wanna thank you so much for this I've tried 1000s of different stretches some of these really made a huge difference!
Great video! My additional advice: if you want to kick higher, practice kicking high !!! Over and over again.
Kajukenbo student here. I’ve always had tightness at the hip keeping me from getting my kicks up higher. Thank you for this.
Man! I don't know how you guys manage daily posts -- on subjects I need but never thought to ask about! I've been trying to kick up my heels for decades!
I'm 71---it was back in 67' that I became interested in Gung Fu. I've
always enjoyed the hand and arm techniques of Wing Chun. But
having quick feet was always especially enjoyable. My legs are
still very fast, despite my age. These stretches are great---painful,
but great! Of course I take them slowly. But I have never stopped
stretching since the late 60's, so these stretches weren't TOO un-
comfortable.
Thanx, guys.
Thanks for sharing, Keep up the good work!!! Brad
Gung Fu?? What about Gum Fu?
IT'S KUNG FU. There is no gung Fu.
@@AverageGabriel Incorrect. Kung fu and gung fu are just different ways of romanizing the same words 功夫. In Hanyu Pinyin, which is the official romanization system for Standard Mandarin Chinese, it is stylized gōngfu.
im 35 this year, i didn't do any exercises for the past 10 years. Started my muay thai journey like 5 months ago..my flexibility is so bad that i can't even do roundhouse kick up to the waist. i desperately need this and i hope this stretches can help me improve my flexibility to kick higher but i can only do the 1st and 2nd exercise for now because i don't have the equipment to do the 3rd exercise 😔
I love this video. I have different backgrounds in martial arts. I’m older now and like to find good stretch advice and cheats. This video and the stretches demonstrated are all that is needed to achieve high kicks. Forget all that was learned before and just work these stretches and see the best results in a shorter period of time. ✌️👍🤙
I did all of your stuff for 30years and now at 66 am having bone troubles. I left the gym 3 years ago. The point is: you have to keep at it regardless of life!!!
Very true!
Bob and Brad are right. Please don't over do it. I suggest following their method. 🙂
Awesome! I really needed this video. Im doing kick boxing but I really struggle even kicking body height sometimes
Never change your intro music, ever 👌
The first 2 stretches to do.
3:53 Exercise no. 1 - diagonal wall squat
6:31 Exercise no. 2 - deep lunge
The intro is catchy as hell 🔥
I have been in the arts since 1969 and I have always loved stretching. I have never tried tried these before and thank you so much for sharing them.
Perfect timing!
Exactly what I needed. Thank you.
This is the funniest most insightful video I’ve ever seen
Hi Bob & Brad ... u never fail
Us... each time new updated exercises. & stretches ... thanks guys
Love how you guys crack on each other! Can’t tell you how much I appreciate this video, well I guess I can… I really appreciate this video.
Oh my gooood that laying down one!!! I love you guys, real talk
So entertaining end educational ! Thank you guys youre so awesome 👍💪😉
This streches help . Thank you so much
Great information. Thanks!
Happy to help!
Thanks guys. As a martial artist for nearly 40years, I laid off training for a couple of years and found my
I found my left hip just locked up. At age 57 these will help a great deal. Thanks.
You’re welcome.
I’ve tried these stretches four times over the last week and found a distinct improvement in the hip capsule. As my adductors have always been tight, this prevented a lot of movement. I found using yoga blocks helped with stability. Also so working to doodle like Brad.
I swear yall got a guide for everything i didn't expect a guide for this from you guys .
Thank you for the tip, nice video for martial artist
Thanks so much for this video! Going to try these for Muay Thai
That was the greatest intro I have ever seen, I subscribed immediately.
I suffer from an injury in my leg for almost 2 years where the joint clicks and feels painful when i did my exercise, but when i found the videos of this guys about stretching it gets cured and now I can do exercise better.
I will try. Thanks so much.
Love the intro
You guys are amazing thank you
Of course!
I LOVE you both...been away for awhile and back when can...YOU are still sooo cool.
Love the intro Guys, it's killer!
These guys are great!
Love your vids. I also love that Bob wore socks in solidarity with Brad, even though he wasn't doing any of the exercises 😂. What cute friends.
The stretches remind me of exercises and stretches on a Pilates reformer.
Thanks I love stretching
Very informative! I wonder if these stretches might also help with my running, or rather, racewalking. I don't need to kick higher, but I bet that my hip capsules would benefit from being less tight. I'm going to turn 58 in September and have learned that I should keep myself flexible, but not to do too much until I am used to the move, or the dreaded DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) will get me the next day.
Well it help with sciatica. Thank you.
Thank you master.
As a MMA fighter this Help a Lot,as always.
Much Love.
bro these are such good stretches ive never felt any stretches like this 💀 and my dad taught me alot of stretches
I skateboard & I needed this thank u guys 🙏🏾
This is great, thank you Bob and Brad. When identifying how your 'body is made' I find it hard to know if i can actually go any further over time. For example, when i hug my knees to chest, when knees are together there is a space between them and my chest and ever so slight discomfort in the hip joints when at maximum hip flexion. But if i part the knees slightly i can bring them to my armpits easily. I have difficulty getting into firelog and pigeon poses for yoga. When i lie down on my back, legs straight, heels down and abduct the hips one at a time using a strap i feel the same mild to slight discomfort in the abductor region. When stretching hamstrings and flexors I don't feel this type of discomfort at all. I think what I am saying is how to tell if a stretch is just grinding a couple of bones together or here in this insightful video the hip capsule. Could aforementioned discomfort be a stretching of the hip capsule. It should feel pain free as mentioned. So does the hip capsule stretch akin to muscle fibres in that they lengthen and possibly shorten over time if left 'unstretched' or perhaps more like a tendon or ligament stretch? And how do they differ to muscular stretching anyway? I'm a bit lost with the knowledge but do remember i used to kick higher decades ago...
Nice info I should do this stretches every morning.😁
This really works! Even my wife has noticed i could kick higher after watching this video. Coz now she gets sidekicked on her nose instead of her chest. Happy kicking everyone 🦶
one of the better comedy-channels here on RUclips 👍😅
Hi guys. I like your video. Thanks
I own that book!
46 year old restarting karate here, just did that first exercise....amazing.
Very helpful advice. While I do sport muaythai and have no respect for dojo blackibelts, your information is a gem. BTW I follow your channel from massage gun.
I'm an amateur martial artist and all I can say is thank you so so much!!! These are alleviating some of my hip stiffness. I hope ine day I can help people the way you do.
Im glad this was helpful, these stretches do really address hip flexiblity well. Good luck with your training. Brad
Bob and Brad, I'm not a martial artist but I'm always interested in learning new exercises to help keep me fit and healthy as I age. I have incorporated these stretches into my daily routine and all I can say is WOW. The result is increased flexibility, increased range of motion and any pain I have/ or had in the hip capsule (due to stiffness), literally disappears in less than a minute. Thank you guys for all that you do.
I cannot describe to you the release I get from the groin stretch at 7.26. Unreal.
I'll try this
Thank you
Lol that intro song cracked me up. Made me stay for the rest of the video.
Cheers lads. I use to be a karate man (in a proper coloured gi I'll have you know.... yanks....) but moved to capoeira years ago. Just starting my first class now at 45 years old
Love the intro 🤣❤️
Thanks for sharing these excersises and tips. I am 50 years old and took up karate again 2 years ago after a 30 year break (doing other types of sport). I try to regain my flexibility and found that my hips are now the limiting factor. Excersises like to ones you show in the video feel really good and seem to help. I have one question though: When doing these excersises (after karate training), I feel extra restricted in my hips 2-3 days after as if I need a relatively long recovery time. How frequent would you recommed doing these excersises? And would it be better to go ligth 4-5 days per week compared to go heavy say 2 times per week?
Love the song,
This is a great series.
Would you please expand it to include stretches to the calf muscles (front kicks) and stretches that help to 'loosen' the knee joints ankle and toes. I'm looking not just to expand range of motion but to keep the joints loose and pliable as I move. Thanks and keep up the good work.
I did make a video on this. Search Bob and Brad on RUclips with ths subject and it should come up. Best wishes. Brad
Hip stretches is what i need. Dealing with an old injury to the hip flexor, plus desk job makes me very stiff.
Dude , bro .... Yall give me hope in humanity with all that you share on this platform . Podcast is a good idea btw .... Just saying. 💯 ♥️
Thank you for your kind words! We do have a podcast I hope you check it out!!

Great video! Thank you very much for this. BTW, is there a place where we can see Mr Kelly Starrett explain these stretches too?
Amazing video. No wonder they got 3.38 million subscribers!
Karate guy here. Appreciate this Bob & Brad 💪
Will try it for my taekwondo 🥋 and Muay Thai kickboxing 🥊 classes
Sounds great!
Bob
I just love the intro song 😂

Intro is 🔥 🤣
Don't be shy. Get it up there.
Stumbled here. These guys have almost 4M subs?
These charismatic boys have great knowledge in what they wil help us whit..😁. Everyone must not be young, suntaned,.. That only care about how they look in the video.. Knowledge is most importent....keep the good info coming boys👍
Thank you for the kind words Johnny. We definitely are not winning a beauty contest, LOL. Brad
I’m interested in videos on shoulder and neck stretches, do u have one already?
I love all the K-Star mobility content! His book is really a game changer.
P.S. I got your guys' massage gun. It has been fabulous!!
Awesome! We are so glad you like it
Which gun did you get? I know they showed a couple. Is like to get one.
@@khappy1286 I got the normal sized one (not the mini). I think it is called the "Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun"
Need some tips for stretching for bjj
What? Y'all knew what I was looking for without typing it out.
You guys are great, important information and nice to add some humour to it. thank you.
You’re so welcome
Well thanks we do all that in the dojo (kyokushinkaikan)and yes do this for a year and its gona go high easy
This just gave me an extra cm on my split! Im stretching to do full side splits.
I love that thumb nail
Thanks!
Is there a specific name description for that green stretch band other than a loop band?
Where would the obvious places be to search for one to purchase? Thanks.
I just started MMA style martial arts training at 61.6 years of age but I have 25 years of ice hockey training & competition at them goaltender position and quite a few years in weightlifting gyms with daily cardio so I'm mentally conditioned and in pretty good shape.
Looking forward to being able to perform full leg splits again. Its been years
The 20 year olds at work are very surprised how agile and quick that I am.
Thanks for the info.
Hi,, good of you guys to prove that getting old isn't an option ❤️🍀🙃🐲👍
Thank you! It's a great video! But what can people with hypermobility do, if not these? I've been doing taekwondo for more than 17 years now; I started as a kid. I'm still struggling with side splits and high side and roundhouse kicks because of knee pain, though. I'm hypermobile, but in spite of that, I'm stiff in my hips in some ways and can't and never could do side splits. Stretching and follow-up training always caused me great knee pain and a lot of anxiety because of feelings of instability in my knees. Doing side splits hurts a lot more in my knees than doing front splits. As I'm getting older, I'm experiencing pain in other joints too. What can I do in terms of stretching, while being hypermobile, if I still need to improve the height of my kicks? I've already almost torn my ACL in right knee and my LCL's and MCL's are way too loose. (I'm not doing only taekwondo, I often do other sports and a lot of knee and other joints strengthening exercises to balance the damage taekwondo does.) I've been looking for some good piece of advice for people who still need to stretch in spite of hypermobility for a very long time, but the advice usually is don't stretch.
My hip pain is killing me just watching you!
😂😂
Hi, I have tendinitis and I'm 19 years old. I hope that by applying the concepts of videos like these I can get higher kicks. As I can't rause my leg laterally more than 45° without feeling a painful stabbing sensation. It's discouraged me because I'm behind in my class, and I have a competition coming up.
I really hope this works.
Any helpful comments will be greatly appreciated.
The 2nd stretch chest away while lunging i been doing that for years lol i didnt even know
