*about to fight* wait let me stretch for 10 minutes first
Luis Uribe lol
Luis Uribe throwing high kicks in street fights is pretty risky but thank god there are other opportunities to fight in a controlled environment
+Sebastian V It depends on how much distance there is between you and how quick you can kick but I wouldn't do it myself.
Sebastian V throwing a punch in a street fight is risky if you can't bunch well. Some goes for kicks
Luis Uribe well you warm up before a fight don't u

7:13 abs stretch (30 sec)

this hamstring stretch as shown is NOT how you stretch hamstrings. The stretch comes from moving your midsection forward, you dont need your whole body leaning forward into it.
@@Cenot4ph pls explain... I did notice that my hamstrings were not stretchimg
@@karalmom5669 to do a hamstring stretch, you put your leg on an elevated position like a bench and your other leg's feet should point towards the bench. Then you move your whole upper body forward towards your legs and don't bend your upper back too much. Now you should feel the stretch. You may need to experiment with your foot and leg placement to get a better stretch.

Holy...exactly when i needed this you upload a vid. Thank you Shane!
Perfect!
love the new setup now. looks more professional. keep it up man :D
The world before Internet and RUclips was very poor - to get such a knowledge you had to participate months on courses. Now you can find such a great tutorials like this and start do it at home.
Underrated comment!
You're so flexible! Your range during kicks is awesome 🙂 Great guide, I can add to my stretches from here on out. I'm preparing to go back into martial arts after being inactive for a while. Thanks
Thanks for these useful tips👍👍
You got it, hope it helps
Awesome! 🙂 It will help me with Karate and Muay Thai.
Many thanks for this stretching routine. 👊
I went through some personal training courses, and your terminology, and methodology is right on, a lot of people that do these videos know the dynamics of throwing a proper punch or kick, but they don't know the physiology behind it.
I cant believe how good these stretches are. 2 days ago I couldn't even get near to my ankles while trying to touch the ground from standing position. After 3 stretching routines later I can touch the ground while warmed up. You rock Shane!
awesome video man. really like your kicks in the beginning of the vid! i'm working to that!
keep it up mate, cheers!
You have influenced me to begin muay thai! I hope to train with you one day.
Your the most productive useful fighting expert I know, I needed this and you already made this video 1 week from now. Thanks dude I'll always stay subscribed!
Been doing this warmup and static stretch routine along with a few body weight workouts for a while now. Thank you for this upload

I needed this since school made my flexibility worse.
how?
@@arandompersonlol9515 probably by sitting on an uncomfortable chair with your back bent for 8 hours a day, just sayin

Crazy coming back to this video and seeing his dojo from then to now, hard work does pay off, salute to Shane👊
Doing all these stretches I couldn’t stop lAughing! My body is like wtf is this 😂

Shane, I just want to say that you are awesome man. I love your videos, they are so helpful, insightful, simple and intuitive, and there's no clutter or confusion. Awesome. I hope you do well if you (continue to) pursue a career in mixed martial arts. I've had the dream since I was 17 but then I hurt my back with a severely pinched nerve. Now finally after almost 9 years I've had the luck to cross paths with an amazing chiropractor and after 6 months of seeing him he has healed me, my dream is alive again. I'm 26 now but this is something I have to do. I'm vastly underskilled but I hope I can grow and eventually compete. Keep the videos coming please bro.
Chris
This is a great video. I appreciate that you get right into the content. Too many others have a long intro video, then spend forever explaining the background, and fill the video with asides and attempts at humor an entertainment. Your video just gives the info I want with no filler. WELL DONE!
Wow that are exactly the exercises I learned at kung fu training! :)
This is not a warm up this is an entire workout for me :D! I cant feel my legs. Thanks you this is an amazing workout!
Oh thankyou so much I was searching for this!
Thanks man, been having trouble with my kicks and its because i never warm up beforehand. This is helpful!
shane, can you do a video on the difference between some martial arts. like for example the difference between kickboxing and muay thai and between bjj and Japanese jj
Yes! I have a video explaining the differences between Muay Thai and Kickboxing here: ruclips.net/video/_zqtcF7_3xw/видео.html
Thanks for this video Shane, been trying to work on my kicks more!
Great to hear, I hope it helps!
Junior Ponce I'm happy to hear you can kick bro. I've just found it hard to do kicks that require a lot of flexibility due to me being a larger built guy.
Junior Ponce no you can't haha😂

i've needed this video for so long cause i have pretty tight hamstrings as well--thanks for sharing the tips!
These are just kind of fun exercises in general. I use many of them as a dynamic warm-up for my personal training sessions.
Ok I’ll make sure to do all this before a fight. Hopefully the person who is trying to hurt me can wait calmly.
Manny KO you do it in a beginning of a day
Shane can u do a video on a foam roller does it really work, how to use it and how it's good for mma
Leo T get 2, balance on them and roll your feet
that's it?
Foam roller is self-massage, it works to work out kinks and inflammation in your muscles and loosen you up. It works wonders and also helps reduce soreness in your body to help ya recover faster. Hence why it's good for MMA or anything active.
research micofacial release
Alex Kriefall i definitely need one of those. It will help alot with my daily sore and aching legs
Shane, thank you so much for all of your videos!
I can't remember a single one although I've watched the entire thing. But it's amazing work. Thank you!!

Iluvatar Yep, he is 5'8
My hamstrings are unhealthily tight. If I sit on the ground leaned back with my hands on the ground behind me I'm already stretching them. Then if I sit straight up I can't feel my toes.
bob ross sit on the edge of a bed or couch, stretch one leg forward to the ground whilst keeping 1 leg in a normal 90 degree angle from the ground. Aim your toes towards your face. Turn your pelvis slowly till you feel the stretch. It's a beginner stretch
Too many happy trees friend. Need to stretch the devil out of your hamstrings!
Great video. Thanks buddy.
I've been looking for ways to increase my kicking range and this helps.
thx bro appreciate it! Just started n your tutorials are really good.

Just found this channel, its like I've unlocked a new level to RUclips, top stuff!
Just the video I needed!!! Thanks :D!
Good workout.
Regarding static stretching, I recommend to do each stretch 2 minutes to get best results. Plus taking turns flexing your agonist and antagonist muscles while stretching. For example the hamstring stretch: While stretching pull the feet towards your body using your muscles and hold that for 10 seconds, then do the same with pushing your feet forward into your hands trying to build a resistance that you push your feet into, 10 seconds again. Then go a bit lower into the stretch. Repeat. You will feel how your muscles loosen up after each muscle flexing phase making you more comfortable to go a bit deeper into the stretch. And remember: DO each stretch for 2 minutes and relax your muscle between the muscle flexing phases. Feel the agonist and antagonist separately. By the way, with the sitting hamstring stretch always make sure you bend forward at the hips with your full upper body straight. You will definitely feel the difference in the hamstrings, even if you got the feeling that you cannot get down to your legs that far. It's okay. Do not make a bump in your back while stretching. Shane does it absolutely correctly, I just want to hint to that important aspect again.
Wish you good results. Keep it up!

Great video. Thanks!
Having to do numerous exercises to warm up your muscles before being able to kick is like the equivalent of a soldier having to always sit down and assemble his gun every time he encounters an enemy. In both cases the person should be always ready. The fighter should be able to kick cold (if he has to) just as the soldier should always be ready to fire his gun immediately.
I read that on an article somewhere. Don't remember but I think its great advice. Once you start kicking high when warmed up don't quit. Keep on stretching to the point where your muscles can kick high with out any warm up if needed.
Hey Shane! I train boxing 6 days a week. In every session, I do mitts, hit the heavy bag, shadow box, skip rope, lift weights, and I spar once a week. With that being my workout routine, should I invest in a pair of boxing boots or just buy high cut basketball shoes?

Hey Shane, never thought I'd have to ask this, but there's a rumor floating around my school that a kid's gonna bring a weapon to school tomorrow or sometime this week, and coincidentally a kid of the same grade as this kid in question got kicked out of school for rumors of some sort last Friday (which was when I heard the rumor). I'm actually fearing for my life and the lives' of my friends and classmates, so is there anything I can do in case someone does bring a weapon to school?
Any information that you have, without hesitation, take it to a teacher or principle. Nothing cowardice about it. If the kid is innocent, nothing will happen to him. If he's not, then you potentially saved tons of lives. If they don't take you seriously, call the police. In school, h9ave an escape route planned at all times. Know to take cover, but that bullets can travel through desks and drywall. Be safe, brother. Keep us updated.
You got it, Shane.
