So no one did anything whilst Sherlock was chucking the guy out the window, going outside, dragging him back up and repeating the process? I LOVE THIS SHOW
I actually think the "how many times" question was because the guy sustained all those injuries from being bashed up by sherlock prior to that, that couldn't be explained by a single fall. so i don't think his "I lost count" was indicating that Sherlock had actually thrown him out the window multiple times, it was just his response that said but didn't say that the guy hadn't ONLY fallen out the window.
Lestrade's least irritating officer: himself. edit: guys I stole this from a tumblr post when I was 14. this comment is nearly ten years old how are you all here
Probably one of the very few people Sherlock can tolerate. He likes John and Mrs Hudson. He loves Mycroft, but won't say it out loud. He finds Moriarty intriguing along with Irene (although he probably more than likes her). And Lestrade is probably the most cooperative of the police officers he has worked with so he tolerates perhaps even likes Lestrade.
See? He does care. Like actually care. Not just about John, he genuinely cares about alot of people. Despite what he says or how he's presented most times
I'm pretty sure John would've stopped him at some point. But let's not forget that Sherlock threw that guy out the window, ran down and drug him back up the stairs to their flat, and threw him back out multiple times. And he did it out of love
Chiko was here Actually he had already broken the ribs, fractured the skull and punctured the lung or planned to do it after phoning Lestrade ,before the agent was thrown out of the window. You may not have noticed that he is tied up to a chair and gagged but there is blood trickling from the side of his mouth. Lestrade understands that all this could not occur in just one fall, so he accepts the multiple fall theory calmly. Specially when an American agent beats up Mrs Hudson in London town England,on alien land so the restoring balance to the universe idea makes John smirk while leaving the room.Dang but this high functioning sociopath is tough and cold... .Note how her scratched wrists make him target all lethal kill points for future targets.
Shows he cannot trust anyone but himself when involving with Sherlock. When Sherlock needed help, he would go by himself and called for backups even though he knew he could lose credits..
He's a viper when he's angry. I like the aggression and he didn't hesitate for a second. He just rolled his eyes at the guys stupidity. "Don't try to trick me. You know who I am. It doesn't work." I loved the whole head butt thing. And the touching moments where he's examining the damage to pore Miss Hudson. He looks deadly. I loved this side of him.
Its cuz despite Sherlock can be a total dick sometimes, she knows that hes also a hero, her hero and she knew without a doubt he would come for her and save her, and exact vengeance on her behalf. But one think I did love out of this is finding out that Mrs H had the phone these guys wanted on her the whole time and despite being hurt never broke, that's a badass move in my book.
I think it's so sad because that would have been her last words, she was really being roughed up, and she knew Sherlock was not home. I love Sherlock's relationship with Mrs. Hudson, apparently he knew her while growing up to. Makes them all the more adorable.
@@thedoctorwho7474, she is absolutely awesome! All that experience in the cartel did her well - plus I think it's part of her personality too. I love her.
Did any of you notice that split second smirk on John's face, just as he's leaving the room to tend to Mrs. Hudson? As Sherlock is making the call to Lestrade, and instructing him to leave, John gets this little smirk on his face. And it's because he knows. John doesn't have to worry. He doesn't have to do anything. Sherlock is going to take care of this rude, violent encounter personally. And he's going to give the"robber" exactly what he deserves.
It's so cute how Sherlock looked at that guy to check how to hurt him, after Sherlock saw Mrs. Hudson's injuries. Sherlock seems to be cold-hearted, but in season two there are many scenes proofing that he's actually a wonderful, caring friend.
In this episode in particular, he spends quite a bit of time in a funk after learning that Irene Adler was "murdered." Turns out she wasn't dead, which broke him out of the funk.... ....and then he came home to the above scenario.
My favourite scene is the Christmas party when, in his social ineptness, he doesn't realise Molly's gift was for him, and he is genuinely horrified when he realises he's hurt and embarrassed poor Molly, and actually says sorry and asks Molly to forgive him - words I never thought I'd hear Sherlock say.
I honestly think my favorite part is John, he comes in to a guy tied up and as soon as he hears Mrs. H was hurt he went from "what have you gotten me into now?" to "you deserve so much worse". Then his little smirk before he left he knows as soon as he leaves the room this guy is screwed and the good Doctor couldn't care less.
+Kaylen Pickering Earlier in the episode, Watson admitted to having killed people. Sherlock was surprised, and John responded with "I HAD BAD DAYS!!!" as he had Sherlock in a headlock.
This is the best scene in all of Sherlock in my opinion, the fact that he gets angry over the damage caused on Mrs Hudson, it is really fantastic, and how he gets revenge, and regains his emotions, best scene in the whole show, can't wait for series 4!
One of the best drama moments in television, two great points 1) his initial analysis and the scream, i actually though for a moment they had killed her 2) the mans face when sherlock is telling lestrade on the phone that he fell from a window
That was the first thing that caught my eye. Listing off the injuries that have yet to happen and then mentioning the window. The guys eyes were broadcasting "What the hell are you saying?" It was beautiful! I've watched this clip almost 20X
Goes to show you Sherlock does have a heart and a romantic side, even though he doesn't show it much. And that look on his face when he stared up them stairs! Man, remind me not to get this guy mad! Hey, he may seem to have a cold mind at times, but you know he has a warm hearts and actual proper feelings and emotion. Hey, we're only human, we all have feelings you know.
Manon Jann I 100% agree! Although I worry about the fact that his protective fury registers as cute in my mind. It should probably be terrifying but all I can think is "aww, look how much he cares!"
i love how Mrs Hudson dose not even seem to be to worried about some one being thrown from a window just that it was on to her bins, got to love a woman with her priorities straight.
I think one of my favourite parts of this is how Sherlock evens the odds. He knows he has no chance against three armed assailants, but he bluffs them into leaving the room and driving away. They have him three to one, and have a gun at Mrs Hudsons head, and he evened the odds with his reputation.
That bit never made any sense to me. You have Sherlock Holmes quite literally outnumbered and outgunned. He is in absolutely no position to negotiate. Why would you just give up your numerical advantage merely because he asks for it?
@@elvellian6431i was thinking the same thing. if you found an answer lmk im doom scrolling the comments trying to find out. if it was a mind game like “i can give you what you want but im surprised youd trust your henchmen to hear all the details” even a stupid trick would be more satisfying than the trained hitman just agreeing to a demand from who hes extorting with no pressure.

***** Yeah, it's so perfect. Most of the show is set up to make it look like he doesn't care about anyone, but at the end of the day, if you hurt the people he loves he'll come at you like a mother bear.
This is seriously one of my favorites scenes from Sherlock. The first time I saw it, when Sherlock started listing the guy's injuries to Lestrade, at first I was like, "Ooooh, you's in trouble now!" and then I just laughed, and laughed, and then nearly died laughing when the guy hit the ground outside. Hahaha And then Lestrade, "So exactly _how many_ times did he fall out the window?" 😂
+Anne “Casey” Kayd And Sherlock's response that he lost count, which could be either banter or Sherlock actually DID haul the sucker back up there to drop him again.
I am not apologetic of the fact that i know that this is THE sexiest thing that Sherlock has done. Right after getting his heart broken - Mrs Hudson getting hurt drew the line and he went ballistic. Super sexy. Well done Benedict
It was more of a 'examine weak points/points to break/things to make this man's life hellish if he lives'. Maiming works best if you're up for it. Nobody thinks about acting out twice after a good once over.
I fucking LOVE the murder face he has when his gaze goes up the stairs at the beginning of this clip...oh man, he can melt ice cold butter in 0.5 seconds with that gaze...
I am thrilled by the fact that Sherlock beat the misery out of the man who hit Mrs. Hudson, it shows out how much he cares even thought everyone keeps reminding him about his ignorance....
The look John gave the guy who hurt Mrs.Hudson really gives the saying " If looks could kill" a whole new meaning Also Sherlock tossing the man out of the window. I mean dang I forgot how brutal Benedict Cumberbatch's portrayal of Sherlock was
So sherlock lost count on how many times the "burglar" fell out the window and when asked and admits he lost count..... Lestrade just acknowledges it and walks away as if nothing happened. "Restoring balance to the universe" indeed Mr Holmes.
In every adaption, if someone threatens Mrs. Hudson, Sherlock will ANHILIATE them! "I lost count." Do NOT mess with the chosen few that Sherlock cares for!
+Got Back in the Kitchen The anime Sherlock Hound has an episode where Mrs. Hudson is kidnapped by Moriarty and his henchmen, but it's played hilariously.
I love how matter-of-fact Sherlock is about the whole thing. You. Do. Not. Hurt. His. People. You do, he has no choice but to hurt you back to restore balance to the universe. ;D
"Mrs. Hudson has been attacked by an American: I'm restoring balance to the universe." I still fall over laughing every time I hear that line. On behalf of America, I'm sorry Mrs. Hudson.
My favorite scene in the series... Holmes's controlled rage shows how much he really cares about her... He can't wait to give him "what he's asking for" for daring to harm Mrs. Hudson.
First the "burglar" discovered that annoying Sherlock Holmes is a VERY bad idea. :) Then he found out gravity gets him down :) Shortly after that he discovered that the fall doesn't hurt a bit but the landing is REALLY painful. :) Of course Sherlock was only checking that the laws of Physics still work and was gratified to discover they do and precisely as advertised. :) Being a methodical man he was of course obliged to repeat his "experiment" several times in order to verify his findings so he could brief Inspector LeStrade thoroughly on Sir Isaac Newton's Laws Of Motion. :)
In fact Sherlock was so deep in thought while testing he lost count on how many times he actually repeated the experiment. A true man of science and knowledge.
For the longest time, I thought Mrs. Hudson was saying, "Oh, that was right on my Benz," as in her Mercedes Benz, lol. As a landlady in central London, I figured she was rolling in dough.
jfc, the ANGER in his eyes when he heads up the stairs, and after he comforts mrs hudson and looks over at the guy.. lol bye bye. out the window you go
I think the only time I'd ever be scared of Sherlock (if I was up against him) was if I had hurt Mrs Hudson. The look on his face when he enters 221b and realises Mrs Hudson has been captured and possibly hurt is one of sheer anger. Yes, he abuses her sometimes, but he abuses everyone. If John had been captured by said Americans, Sherlock would've rescued him, but not pushed the American out of the window. Sherlock yells at Mycroft after Mycroft told Mrs Hudson to shut up. I think she's one of the few people that, throughout all 3 series, his love and kindness has never wavered from.
Indi Heaton I would argue that is because there is a kind of Maternal relationship between the two of them. That Sherlock feels a kind of love to her and the care that she provides for him and John, while she sees Sherlock as a kind of son that she needs to look out for because of Sherlocks unstable nature.
grtyuj I think it is less maternal and more grandmotherly. She buys him food and checks he's alright, but at the same time stays out of his hair enough for him to not hate her. I think she'd spoil him rotten if she got the chance and he was anyone but Sherlock. (Then again, if he wasn't Sherlock then she probably wouldn't!) Although I do agree that she seems to look out for Sherlock because he is slightly unstable.
+ancientsgate xactly. Remember what happened to the guy hurting John. You hurt Mrs. Hudson you fly out the window...you try to destroy Johns life and marriage, you die.
Kacy Espinoza He had no choice, as Sergeant Donovan (who pretty much hates Sherlock) went to the Chief Superintendent about Sherlock being given access to police data/cases (Which he tore Lestrade a new one for, given that Sherlock is a civilian)
Can we talk about how John doesn't even flinch when the burgler falls on those bins? Good thing for his military training. Mrs. Hudson could have had an extra sore face if he was jumpy.
I LOVE Sherlock's face when he realizes what happened downstairs and then the collected air he gives while planning how to take this guy out. NO ONE hurts Mrs. Hudson and gets away with it.
2:39 John: What the h*ll is happening? Sherlock: Mrs. Hudson is being attacked by an american; I must put balance to the universe. oh god how hard me and my family roared at that XDDDDDDD
I probably have 50 favorite scenes from Sherlock. This is toward the top of the list. I always wait for his flipping and catching the can. That hits my happy button.
So no one did anything whilst Sherlock was chucking the guy out the window, going outside, dragging him back up and repeating the process? I LOVE THIS SHOW

Love how his voice turns all sinister after he checks Mrs Hudson's injuries and marks the guys vitals.
I love the little grin that John does when he leaves. It's like he knows what is about to happen
It’s honestly amazing what this show could accomplish in 4 minutes.
i can't with how he's so quietly gentle at 2:07 ;-;
The look John gave the guy who hurt Mrs.Hudson really gives the saying " If looks could kill" a whole new meaning
Also Sherlock tossing the man out of the window. I mean dang I forgot how brutal Benedict Cumberbatch's portrayal of Sherlock was
"Mrs Hudson's been attacked by an American, I'm restoring balance to the universe." 😂😂
"Crime in process. Please disturb."
My God, he's so sweet here, the way he defended her
So sherlock lost count on how many times the "burglar" fell out the window and when asked and admits he lost count..... Lestrade just acknowledges it and walks away as if nothing happened. "Restoring balance to the universe" indeed Mr Holmes.
So much to love in this little scene. Sherlock's calm tone on the phone. The perfect Glasgow kiss. Every word necessary and precisely placed.
This is one of my favorite scenes of all time . YOU DONT F with ms Hudson
God I love his voice. And you can tell he is pissed off just by the look in his eyes :)
In every adaption, if someone threatens Mrs. Hudson, Sherlock will ANHILIATE them!
"I lost count."
Do NOT mess with the chosen few that Sherlock cares for!
+CaptEoNinja83 Mind naming those adaptations? Just want to watch them. :)
+Got Back in the Kitchen I can't remember any definite examples right now. Best to watch as many as you can find to be on the safe side. X^D
+CaptEoNinja83 Can never go wrong with that.
+Got Back in the Kitchen The anime Sherlock Hound has an episode where Mrs. Hudson is kidnapped by Moriarty and his henchmen, but it's played hilariously.
CaptEoNinja83 Pfft. Okay. XD
Lestrade at the end walking away be like "Not my division"
That man has a voice like velvet. I could listen to him talk ALL DAY.
Soooooo Mrs Hudson going “oh right on my bins” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love her so much
I liked how he was scanning the robber for weak points...
I love how his expression in the beginning changed from "thinking" to "gonna kill him" so subtly
You never mess with someone's mother/grandmother figures, especially not if it's Mrs. Hudson.
I love how matter-of-fact Sherlock is about the whole thing. You. Do. Not. Hurt. His. People. You do, he has no choice but to hurt you back to restore balance to the universe. ;D
"Oh...that was right on my bins!"
Mrs. Hudson, telling it how it is. No one messes with the people Sherlock cares about!
"Mrs. Hudson has been attacked by an American: I'm restoring balance to the universe."
I still fall over laughing every time I hear that line. On behalf of America, I'm sorry Mrs. Hudson.
My favorite scene in the series... Holmes's controlled rage shows how much he really cares about her... He can't wait to give him "what he's asking for" for daring to harm Mrs. Hudson.
it is just too cute how he and john are so protective of mrs hudson!
"I lost count" xD
I never get tired of watching this show...and especially this scene. Love it!
One of the few times he shows how much he truly cares about his peeps! Love this guy!!!!
2:04 The way Sherlock immediately goes to her and gently touches her face as he asks, "are you alright" 😍
I love the guys expression when sherlock says "a suspected punctured lung." Cumberbatch got real scary in this scene
First the "burglar" discovered that annoying Sherlock Holmes is a VERY bad idea. :)
Then he found out gravity gets him down :)
Shortly after that he discovered that the fall doesn't hurt a bit but the landing is REALLY painful. :)
Of course Sherlock was only checking that the laws of Physics still work and was gratified to discover they do and precisely as advertised. :)
Being a methodical man he was of course obliged to repeat his "experiment" several times in order to verify his findings so he could brief Inspector LeStrade thoroughly on Sir Isaac Newton's Laws Of Motion. :)
In fact Sherlock was so deep in thought while testing he lost count on how many times he actually repeated the experiment. A true man of science and knowledge.
I laughed too much at this. Have my like.
No actually, to prove the Laws of 'Moron'!
Lestrade just goes with it and he knows what really happened, I love that
I love how after seeing Mrs. Hudson bruise that he instantly starts scanning for the most painful kill shots.
I love this scene because it shows just how much he cares for Mrs. Hudson, who is obviously a close friend/motherly figure to him.
I died at the end.
And I love seeing how much Sherlock cares
For the longest time, I thought Mrs. Hudson was saying, "Oh, that was right on my Benz," as in her Mercedes Benz, lol. As a landlady in central London, I figured she was rolling in dough.
WeCaredALot This made me laugh so much
WeCaredALot Bins are trashcans in England.
I thought it was beans
+WeCaredALot I laughed harder than I should have at this... it actually concerns me.
As it turns out..
jfc, the ANGER in his eyes when he heads up the stairs, and after he comforts mrs hudson and looks over at the guy.. lol bye bye. out the window you go
Sherlock Holmes is absolutely ruthless, that's true in the books as well. If he has to kill he just does it, no remorse
I love it when Sherlock shows emotions; one of my fav scenes.
Hurting John doesn't set well with Sherlock either, to say the least.
+ancientsgate Nope, it doesn't.
+ancientsgate xactly. Remember what happened to the guy hurting John. You hurt Mrs. Hudson you fly out the window...you try to destroy Johns life and marriage, you die.
His face when he finds out Mrs. Hudson was taken and hurt just gets me every time.
Soooo Lestrades least irritating officer is Lestrade huh
Well, he's one of the few on the force who actually respects Sherlock, and doesn't think he's a psychopath
I actually love your comment and I have no idea why ... Though Sherlock hates everyone but Lestrade so you know ...
mifdsam And then season 2 episode 3 happened.
Kacy Espinoza
He had no choice, as Sergeant Donovan (who pretty much hates Sherlock) went to the Chief Superintendent about Sherlock being given access to police data/cases (Which he tore Lestrade a new one for, given that Sherlock is a civilian)
apparently XD
England has fallen. RIP Una Stubbs, you wonderful woman.
i love how Lestrade kind of backs away after Sherlock gives him the murder glare
the music from the beginning till 0:30 always gets me .. Always. *shivers*
2:39
John: What the h*ll is happening?
Sherlock: Mrs. Hudson is being attacked by an american; I must put balance to the universe.
oh god how hard me and my family roared at that XDDDDDDD
"I am RESTORING balance to the universe"*
That has to be the best response I’ve ever heard from him
i just love the look on lestrade's face....he just stands there and goes...erm..righ.er okay im just going to go over there....
exactly how many times did he fall out of the window?
I don't know detective inspector, it's all a bit of a blur
Hilarious!!!
Jonatan Höglund *Facepalm*
I'm sure he _lost_ it rather than _didn't_.
It's all a bit of a blur. I lost count.
I probably have 50 favorite scenes from Sherlock. This is toward the top of the list. I always wait for his flipping and catching the can. That hits my happy button.
The bloody music at the start of this scene is amazing!
When I first saw this scene, I screamed THIS IS IT!! THIS IS WHAT SHERLOCK WILL DO FOR THE WOMAN HE LOVES!!!!
Imagine if Watson was in her place. Murder would happen!
