Help for Small Finger Numbness: Cubital Tunnel Relief

  • Do you have numbness and tingling of your small finger and half of your ring finger? If so, follow along as I demonstrate two nerve flossing exercises that can help relieve your numbness and tingling caused by cubital tunnel syndrome.
Cubital tunnel syndrome is a condition that occurs when the ulnar nerve, which runs from your neck to your hand, is compressed at the elbow. This can cause numbness, tingling, and weakness in your pinky and ring fingers.
These exercises are the best way to relieve cubital tunnel symptoms because they safely floss, or glide, your ulnar nerve. Other exercises focus on range of motion and strength, which causes you to over stretch your nerve.
In this first ulnar nerve flossing exercise you will learn how to slack the nerve at the joints above and below the elbow. This allows the nerve to begin comfortably sliding through all the small ligaments, muscles, and fascia in the arm.
In the second exercise, you will learn how to glide the nerve slow and symptom free by incorporating your shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.

The healing continues. The stretching is easy to do anywhere. I had a gig last night and didn't even notice the numbness. The real problem was a weakness in my pinky (essential to hit high notes). 3 hour performance and again, no symptoms. Just a slight tingle today but it's different. Feels strong.

The symptoms flare up more the more you progress in the exercise if yours are that bad you shouldn't progress and you should do the first version of the exercise only, also go to a doctor too because when i first got this condition my nerve was inflamed and needed medication first.

Thank you 🥰. I usually don't have numbness in my pinky for this long, but now I know what i did wrong. It's not painful or extremely numb. Yesterday, I played the Sims 4 on my laptop, and I have to use a mouse instead of my normal controller. Which causes me to lean on my left elbow while controlling the mouse with my right hand. After unintentionally applying pressure to my ulnar nerve, I went to bed immediately. I've been sleeping in a poor position lately, which involves me sleeping with my arms above my head or me sleeping on my arm directly cutting off circulation. I'll be me mindful from now on 😅. In the past, these two actions have resulted in some numbness, but it would go away quickly on its own. Combining the two actions is what caused my current problem

If the numbness won't go away: -----> The condition can be cured by a very minor surgery. Don't be afraid to have it done. It is a very simple and non-dangerous out-patient procedure. My nephew had it done. They basically made a small incision on the inside of the arm at the elbow and slightly widened the canal that the nerve is running through. He said the result was an immediate cessation of the numbness which has never come back, and he had it done years ago. The procedure is very simple and usually 100% successful every time.

Can someone please tell me what this is I’m going through. In both hands at the same time, my pinky and ring finger start to tingle. Then seconds later both hands start to buzz extremely hard like all my fingers and my wrists. To the point where I have to park my car cause I can’t use my hands I’ll crash. My fingers feel like they are bending backwards by themselves and my thumbs feel as if they are twisting. My hands sort of lock up and it’s hard to move my wrists and fingers. It hurts and i my hands kinda look like they are stuck in half open but straight fingered way like this 🤏 but my thumb is stuck straight up. It lasts 10 minutes or so and after I’m very shaky like my hands are weak and very shaky. Right before this happens I have a funny feeling in my heart. One time when this happened it went to my jaw and I had slurred speech. Scary.. this only happens when I’m in the car but it’s happened when I wasn’t even driving just the passenger in the car. It’ll happen once a day for about a week or so. Then it’ll go away for like a month or so then all the sudden come back. What is happening.

Hi ...I am facing the same issue for the last 2 years. Are these exercises helpful if the issue persists for this long?

Hie Michelle, so I’ve had these exact symptoms for over a year now after i got into a terrible car accident and broke my left wrist, i had an external fixator for about 8 weeks. Now my pinky finger doesn’t straighten up at all and the numbness and tingling feeling is always there on half of the ring finger and my pinky. Ive tried 4 physiotherapists and it doesn’t seem to be changing. Wonder if you could help me by any chance
