Just wanted to say that this thing is awesome. Took some time to get it to work, since it wouldn't turn on. My problem was that I used the included sticky tape to keep the ribbon down, which was too thick for the ps button to hit the sensor properly. If you guys have this issue and you don't have extra tape, peel off that tape after you apply it (gently) and there will be enough stick left on the bottom of the ribbon for it to sit flush with the board. Stick that tape along the top of the ribbon and it'll be good to go and won't interfere with anything

Thanks for the video man, I just finished my controller today. This is a great item if a person is willing to put the effort in to take the time to do it. Although it took me a lot longer than thirty minutes to finish. It really is a cheaper alternative to an elite controller. Much appreciate the video and link.
KSI- Nation I already have 2 Scuf infinity pro controllers and one Scuf impact controller. Just I much prefer the look of where these back paddle buttons are
I own a strikepack and have had a lot of issues with disconnecting mid game every 5-10 minutes. Talked to tech support (updated firmware, factory reset, new usb cable) and still happens. Search strikepack disconnecting and you'll see many others have this issue. When it works its a great product, but mine is borderline unusable after 4 months as the 20 seconds it takes to get it reconnected often means your dead in a game like Apex, PUBG, etc
Did all of this just to find out that I don’t have the right controller and I dropped all my screws and lost then ruining my controller and I took an L😪
Had two controllers. Took them both appart , and neither worked. On one of them, the trigger button stopped working, took it apart the second time, and after forever I eventually figured the plastic film wasn't flat on a surface to make contact and finally fixed it. Same day bought another controller model 55 with 30$ sold my other 2 controllers for 40$. At this point being able to win 1/5 apex games vs none previously was well worth the trouble. Thing is I havent used a controller before for too long so I didn't have to readjust and it became rather easy having slide and jump accessible while aiming. So if what you're affraid of is the trouble of setting up a controller with the module think how much more annoying is to die at a game because of the disadvantage of not being as agile as another player.

I'm looking forward to doing what you did next week. I got ALL the Call Of Duties, can't wait to test out the controller & get used to it. Thanks again Bro!
I have a Scuf impact and I have 4 home built controllers. The home built ones work just as well. I have 2 with Extreme Rate textured grips, paddles. The other 2 have just regular paddles. All have Xbox Elite magnetic sticks so you can change them (I even use these in my Impact). So basicly if you want a controller with all the functionality of a Scuf: Extreme Rate textured grips, Saber paddles, remap board of choice, trigger stops can be made with a simple screw and hair triggers can be made by glueing something between the triggers. If the controller breaks you can simply transfer the stuff to another controller. Only downside is that there is about 5 dual shock revisions at the moment so you need the right parts for the right controller. Even the later style controllers are not all the same, there is a JDM-040, JDM-050 and JDM-055. And not all parts are compatible between them. Also if you open them a lot, the flatcable from the USB port to the mainboard tends to wear out after 4-5 disassemblies.
I play on PC. I'm a man who loves mouse and keyboard. That being said, there are certain games even in shooter titles that as a keyboard warrior I prefer a controller. This mod has made getting a viable controller affordable and I love it. There are a few things I hate, like the sharpness of the k2 and k4 bottom beEls, but overall it's amazing
Great how-to video thank you - bought and installed. Your video and tips made it easy. Just one thing, use a decent screwdriver.... the one supplied is too small and it is easy to strip your screw heads.
Nils H. It took me no less then 15 minutes especially with never opening a ps4 controller before was actually quite easy considering you don’t have to solder anything
If you are planning on using this as a competitive controller you will not be able to! You have to use a licensed controller without modification, meaning that the scuf/astro is allowed but this is not!
from their web site "Turn your existing PS4 controller into a professional eSport elite controller. This remap mod solution gives you competitive edge in Online Gaming and Tournaments, and totally legal." - www.extremerate.com/ Not sure how true that is, but other 'Official Controllers' like Battle Beaver are just modded controllers
@@willionlorric8644 If you take any modified controller to a tournament you will be DQd. I think Battle Beaver and Evil controllers are tournament banned as well because of the ability to load cheats and mods onto the controller. I know Scufs and the new Astro controller are alright for tourneys, but I've still seen players DQd for using scuf. It really depends on how bitchy your competition is about losing and how far hes trying to go to be a poor sport. Every Scuf controller I’ve bought has broken. They just don’t last, buttons stop working buttons get stuck, etc. what is still fully functional is my Xbox One Elite controller. It’s on 5 times the life of the longest last scuf so far. Zero issues.
This is awesome. You might have mentioned it but is this or a similar product available for the Xbox controller. I do have a PS4 as well so thanks for this video.
WARRIOR3 I think there is on amazon search out extreme rate remap Xbox one
been using this for over 2 years and I found it thanks to your video so thank you
I can vouch for this...not too hard to install and is solid product.
Did you do soldering?
@@ambientocean9021 no
@@jman7196 what's soldering?
Dude you’re a life saver... maybe the console gods bless you!🙏🏽
i received it today and managed to install it. im having a problem tho, whenever i press 2 buttons 1 right after the other its lie the second one gets pressed twice.
Great vid! Watched this b4 I bought the DIY and watched this while installing and it was very thorough.
Right when he pulled out all those pieces I said hell no i’m just going buy a scuff😂.
Lol it looks intimidating haha but it's a fun and easy diy project
Yeah I just finished up my install. Follow the tutorial, makes it super easy
This channel is underrated. Thank you for the video, I’m definitely gonna try this.
Thanks!
Lmao I actually just watched a 20 minute video without skipping any of it😂😂
My man!!
samee. that's rare to find
Same and I have xbox lul
Thanks for the video man, I just finished my controller today. This is a great item if a person is willing to put the effort in to take the time to do it. Although it took me a lot longer than thirty minutes to finish. It really is a cheaper alternative to an elite controller. Much appreciate the video and link.
I wish someone could just send this to me pre made and I will happily pay the extra bit for it haha
Get the Strikpack FPS dominator it’s only 40$ and it’s just an attachment to ur controller no need to open u r controller:)
@@chiefnakoma so your a cheater?
@@kevincallaghan5519 Lol. Stop trolling. I use it for the paddles as a $40 option rather than a $100-200 scuf or battle beaver.
I know this is an older vid now but wanted to say great guide mate, bought a kit myself and installed it. 👌👌
Did all of this just to find out that I don’t have the right controller and I dropped all my screws and lost then ruining my controller and I took an L😪
Buy new screws 😂😂😂
I bought the kit, came with new screws. Took my time, about an hour or so, works great.
Rip
Great tutorial dude, I love messing with tech stuff like this, I’m gonna order one right now! Thanks for explaining everything in so much detail
19:33 "it's kinda hard to show on camera but you will see it when you see it" 😂😂😂
Jokes aside, this is a great review. I watched the whole video even though I doubt that I'm going to buy it and do it myself.. You've earned my sub and a follow on twitter 👏👏
Thank you sir!
This mod is so good for Fortnite, Apex Legends, Call of Duty, Mortal Kombat, etc...
Yan you think it’d be helpful in GTA 5 online gun fights ?
@@mrjones2189 yes it is it helped me so much
Great video! But do they also have a version for the V3 Dualshock for PS4??
Thank you, your walkthrough made it very easy to install my kit. Works very well, great affordable solution
Dude... "sold-ering"? "disseminated"?? 😂😂😂 Still, I like the in-depth, hands-on, show-and-tell style.
Hey I need to get your attention with my grammar lol. I know it's pronounced wrong haha. These are my Easter eggs lmao
I Bought one of these and it's pretty simple. Great video. Mine didn't have color coded wires but still easy to install.
Fps strike pack gives you paddles for $40 with a easy installation
Lord Flacko its comes with mods for cheating tho

Back in the Black ops 2 days I drilled a hole in back of my PS3 controller and glued a switch in that I sodered to the circuitboard. I was so pumped that it actually worked 😄
Really cool that they made it so easy and affordable!
Yo I would appreciate more details
@@Razor-gx2dq there are a few RUclips tutorials on it

New subscriber! Excellent video, very very informative and to the point. Good choice of background music too, nice & chill, not too much like others here on RUclips. I'm looking forward to doing what you did next week. I got ALL the Call Of Duties, can't wait to test out the controller & get used to it. Thanks again Bro!
The scuf is the final mouse of the console community
Hey dude, how are they holding up wear-wise? Reckon they'll last? :)
Probably longer than a SCUF but I have a feeling they eventually just stop functioning.
I’ve had mine for 2 weeks and no problems... just follow the directions and you will have a $200 controller for $35 bucks
Lionel Viera Jr - 2 weeks... even a SCUF lasts 2 weeks.. give it time you’ve barely used the product
Arthur Shelby lol it could but for 35 bucks it’s well worth it
I play on PC.
Imagine someone coming at u with scissors while doing this
That'd be crazy
Great how-to video thank you - bought and installed. Your video and tips made it easy.
Just one thing, use a decent screwdriver.... the one supplied is too small and it is easy to strip your screw heads.
Great tip!
"laughs in keyboard"
Aiming is with the mouse, idiot. Sorry, you can't beat the pc Master race.
@_ David _ no body cant aim on keyboard you need a mouse to aim lol btw im hybrid and play controller and keyboard and tbh i have crazy aim on k&m !

Do you have to buy a controller yourself, or do you get it with that stuff
This kit has the backplate and the scuf parts it does not include a controller
My mom bought it for me, its not here yet but i hope i can build it that easy as you biuld it
One question: how long took it to build it?

This remap mod solution gives you competitive edge in Online Gaming and Tournaments, and totally legal." - www.extremerate.com/
Not sure how true that is, but other 'Official Controllers' like Battle Beaver are just modded controllers
Scufs are legal for MLG tourneys though and the proof is at this link. support.majorleaguegaming.com/customer/en/portal/articles/191755-what-controllers-are-allowed-at-the-event-
There ain't no pro player buying this garbage😂😂😂. They can just buy a scuf or get one from their org.
Great tutorial and review. I'm getting one!!!. And the sreen behind you.... ZOMBIES ATE MY NEIGHBORS 💪🏼😂
Vs 32$ fps strikepack dominator :P
its much more expensive now tho
RFrenzy I bought mine last week for under $40. Not bad
@@r8td nice, it's a really good substitute. I'm just saying that it's no longer 32$, it's closer to, like you said, 40 ish $. I just got some of the paddles and I love them btw
RFrenzy Tbh I can’t get used to the paddles bro. I’ve never used a controller with paddles and for me it’s hard to get used to new things
M4RK I bought this kit because with my strike pack my audio gets screwed mid game and I play plenty scrims plus its not wireless so I think this might be a better alternative to scuf
Big tip, if you can get used to junping eith L1/LB and using X for tacticle (or abilities for apex) then use Bumper Jumper, ez to jump & aim, you can also use Bumper Jumper Tacticle to slide/crouch&jump without your thumbs leaving the thumbsticks
Ok y’all so u can either spend 2 hours modding a controller and most likely breaking it or you could just buy a strike pack for $5 extra and have it set up in 2 seconds and have no risk of damage to your controller, plus modifications.
I have a strike pack the only problem i have with it a the blue tooth lag on it
Victor Maldonado umm strike pack isn’t Bluetooth it’s wired, if u have latency try making sure ur settings are correct and make sure ur monitor/tv has low latency on
Only has 2 paddles though
Salvador Ortega it’s still so much easier and more convenient
My strike pack disconnects constantly
Hands down best investment in ps4 ive made this vid got me to buy one and so happy i did
Do the back buttons work if you use the controller on pc!?
Yea they do
No they don't
Explain how Nickmercs plays with a scuff on pc buddy
Thug Nificent I think he is talking about the cheap attachments one. I use a scuff on pc and it works great.
Seymour it remaps the controller not the console so it should work because it’s happened internally but idk I’ll try mine after i install
