I love the mystery surrounding Jenova; so I'd like some answers too, but not too much. Keeping it more vague than not is far better than knowing all, in her case anyway.

Some says Jenova is Yunalesca from FFX

This theory is on the right track. Final Fantasy has long had a “tale of two Worlds” going on in the background. In FF9 Garland returned with a reveal of the dying/dead World of Terra sending its Souls over to Gaia to replace the original inhabitants presence in the Gaian lifestream.
Sin resembles the Lunar Colonies of Terra that FF 4, 8, 9, and 13 featured heavily, but FFX occurs after the Terran’s exodus to Gaia. (Even if major locations in FFX originated in FF3’s era of Terra, such as the Crystal Tower that we see ontop of Mount Gagazet in FFX-2, or Unei keeper of the Dream World who became an undead just outside of Zanarkand within the same mountain range while it was called Mount Gulg). If it wasn’t for Garland in FF9 naming some locations that were grabbed from Terra and placed upon Gaia in order to spread Terran souls into Gaia it would be trickier to be sure that those locations were the same ones across FF3, FF9 and FFX, but… things about Sin and Jenova start making a lot more sense if they are both “Arks” created ti ferry Souls across dimensions. Thanks of the FF13 trilogy we do have some names for potential Land-gods that would have created these “WEAPONS” or at least inspired them. Pulse, Lindzei and Etro each had a lunar colony made, and while we don’t know all the details on them… cocoon and fenrir were both “white moons,” and we know summoning Fenrir can summon its moon alongside it. The Lunar Tear in FF4 and FF8 can be used to summon a moon and alter gravity such that an atmosphere exists in between Gaia and the Lunar Colony, even if it does cause a Lunar Cry event where monsters rain down upon Gaia. Since the Black Materia acts very similarly to the Lunar Tear, one might suspect the “Calamity of the Skies” to have been a Lunar Cry event where someone summoned a Lunar Colony to Gaia, only to discover that all souls within it had become part of the WEAPON (ceith?) calling herself Jenova. It would have been fairly similar to Zeromus managing to invade Gaia in person rather than being defeated while still within his Lunar Colony ship. (And yes, I would call Zeromus, Zemus’s Ceith transformation after he drank too much hatred from the Souls trapped within the Lunar Colony and lost his mind to that wellspring of hatred)

Like the movie alien and Lovecraftian horrors Jenova is an example of the horrors that exist in the great beyond that even Science cannot explain or contain. Through the foolish still try.

    THIS WAS AWESOME!!!
I never considered Jenova to be the antithesis to the Lifestream. I really dig all of your theories. I hope FF7 Reunion (or whatever Part 3 is going to be called) ties all of this up!!

The Jenova - Omega weapon connection is excellent. First time I’ve heard that comparison. It seems so obvious.

I never thought about Jenova basically working the same as the lifestream… wtf.
I mean who’s to say the lifestream on Clouds planet is any different? I mean, the more humans who are born and then return to the lifestream, the stronger it gets.
Maybe it was a good thing that Shinra was sucking up the energy?? Plus, Minerva exists as the personification of the planet - what if Jenova is the equivalent?
Who’s to say the planets lifestream would be any different from Jenova? I mean, it did try to kill cloud and co at the end of remake part 1… unless that was somehow influenced by Jenova/Sephiroth.

I think Aerith is Jenova, and the legend probably related more to omega's arrival to the planet, and the cetra was the original species on the planet before it attempted to wipe them out. So Aerith is closer to the real Jenova, which explains why she is always there around sephiroth's illusions, always know about what's going on, and even knows holy has the potential to destroy all life on the planet. Sephiroth as a cetra sees her as his enemy and trying to devour all life and fool those into loving her, and showing them visions to have them question their and others realities.
Aerith may be the real Jenova. :)

In the original 7 didn't it say it arrived on a comet. Comparing to Omega, that doesn't seem the same at all.
A slight tweak to the idea of corruption. Maybe their planet got destroyed and a big junk got blown off. This part would say be, let's say 30% of the planets total life force. As it wasnt whole it was missing key parts of itself creating a confused 'anti-life stream' as you put it.

    • @JustinC721
      @JustinC721 Год назад

They called it "the calamity from the sky" and it resides in a place called 'the northern crater', so it is safe to say that Jenova arrived on a comet in OG.

So then sephiroth was not lying and now this begs the question is trinova a Gaia that lost her world through natural means but did not allow what remains of her to perish she took all the energy from her world which was already dying and was reborn into what we see now God reborn must mean that she was a Gaia innocence that once a new world to be like her old one again and either was trying to find the perfect one or was trying to get enough energy to be able to make sure this new one would be sustainable and never end and most likely was willing to do whatever it took to continue meaning that she is not actually dead and may still exist in another way or is dead and now we're Maids of her is reincarnated into sephiroth to continue what she started innocence she's only a Calamity to the worlds that fail her taste but ultimately world's like the planet of Gaia meet her needs so that she uses said planet to either reincarnate or has been corrupted over the years only to be turned into a world eater like atriox from League of Legends a world eater never truly be satisfied.

In my head canon Jenova is from Spira, the humans of Spira escaped the planet and came to the planet of ff7 and Jenova followed them.
