Zac Higgins . Thank you very much my friend, I could not have done it without your amazing blank. I really enjoyed turning this piece. Thanks again Jim
Thank you very much Matt, the negative rake rolls are fantastic. The carbide negative rakes hold their edge very well, steel negative rakes need constant resharpening, especially on resin projects. Cheers Jim
Lovely. Flying egg shot too! Beautiful blank and you turned it into the best egg ever, might have inspired me to try something other than a pen! Ooh and I’ve just noticed that it’s possible to buy your t shirts on tee Spring! Might treat myself to some Jim merch 🤩🌲🦊🌲
That is beautiful. I turn, but never thought of using resin for much more than in smaller items to fill in voids. I need to start resin casting to get blanks I want rather than have to settle for. Great job and idea.
Thank you very much Kirk. The world of resin turning has endless possibilities and is awesome but it can get expensive, careful planning is best to avoid costly mistakes. Cheers Jim
Thank you very much. Yes high RPMs are certainly better with both resin and carbide tools. I think this was alumilite resin, I will check with Zac. Cheers Jim
