Just want to say thanks for actually telling us what you're doing/using as you go. Im new to wood turning and sometimes when im watching i have no idea why people are doing what they do. Really appreciate your in-depth guide. Thanks again!
This is truly great work thank you 🙏🏻 I have had a mill and lathe for years since my father passed away and I am going to start using it my father passed away in 1998 I finally understand his passion for this type of work once again thank you 🙏🏻
Koda crowder That’s what humans do: Create stuff. At least this form of creativity seems benign enough and doesn’t appear to be in the pursuit of creating personal wealth at the expense of all else.
Jim, I love the work and thank you for naming/labeling each tool used as they're being used. Too many turning videos out there that are completely silent time lapses with no explanation over what is happening despite how nice the finished product might be. From one craftsman to another this is very much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing more of your work now that I'm subscribed. Cheers.
1st timer here. I watch a few woodworkers. I truly appreciate that you have captions, so that we can look up the tools as we would like to. Thanks! Great stuff!
First off, so very creative! You sir, are a true artist! The finished product looked absolutely exotic!!!☺ Next, I truly appreciate you explaining the entire process in detail, esp. the tools used. Thank you!
Thank you very much Mark. Proper job is a phrase I use frequently, I first heard it used by a farmer in a cattle market in Exeter in 1986. I also like the beer called Proper Job. Cheers Jim
I liked that you included technical details on what you used and shared tips! Woodturning videos without narration are soothing and all, but I like hearing about the craftsmanship that goes into making these sorts of things.
Absolutely beautiful. Where I live we don't have pinecones, but I travel for work and I've been to alot of areas where I see pinecons scattered everywhere. I have always thought they would be wonderful to do creative things with. The lamp is very creative. I wish you would sell the things you make. Love it.
Looks amazing. I like how you explain what you are doing during the process. Other channels don't seem to do that. Looking to get into this some time in the future and you explain things will be helpful for newbies.
I was going to write a quick message on the beautiful work done on this project... then I saw the number of 👎. I’m shocked! I didn’t know so many people prefer a 99 cent plug-in.
What a lovely lamp, Jim! It was hard enough to do precision lathe turning, but you added that artistic touch of color and made the whole bulb fitting as well! Not easy to find, let alone create the socket structure below. You are a master craftsman of all trades. I would start with the bulb assembly kit first then adapt my project to it. Not as creative as you! 😍😍 Oh, and the video was excellent. Thanks for clear audio, visuals, and NO MUSIC!!!💖
So cool. In my 60's now and don't expect to buy a lathe, but this is the next best thing. Completely agree that allowing the cone to be partially exposed gives the best effect. Thank you.
WHy would anyone put THUMBS DOWN on this beautiful work of art. New viewer here from Orlando, Florida, USA says you did a BEAUTIFUL job on this Lighted Pinecone. Love this!! Ken
I can’t help but think just how good these lights would look in a woodland setting... AND also, well the woodland nymphs and fairies would have the lights away PDQ. A fine piece of work there that Jim!
You do a great video. You do not drag the viewer through every minute of every process. Seconds is all it takes. If a viewer does not get it in a few seconds, added minutes won't help at all. Nice project, nice video. Thanks!!!
*Consider a rotating base for special effects.* *Show it off by lighting up a dark room, such as a bathroom , and not a facial close-up.- (LOL)* *Perfect as a night light in any room.* *Thumbs up # 17K+1*
👍 verry nice. If i had a B&B near the woods i would like to buy them. Nice for in the bedroom or on the wall. You can sell them on the market verry easy. Keep on the good work.
Hello from Brazil, Jim. Congrats on the nice work. I have been watching woodturning videos and I am seriously thinking about starting doing that after the things go back to normal here. Take care and stay safe there.

*Is its natural path of becoming food or another tree not beautiful enough* ?
Nature is always beautiful but to preserve it in something that will be treasured forever, well that beauty can be passe down for generations to come.
