Oddly enough, I just got a Gundam Aerial gunpla a little while ago and was wanting to watch a how to video before diving in. This was perfect timing (also appreciate the Witch from Mercury scene transitions).
Awesome! I just started building a 1/100 Full Mechanics Aerial last night!
Awesome video! I wish I had watched something like this before getting into the hobby. I hope you continue with the series.
Thanks, complete stranger!
I have only ever built MG Ver. Ka for Gunpla, But I've enjoyed all of them so far. Thanks for the video.
I've built both 1/144 and 1/100 scale gunpla. By far, the 1/144 scale is my favorite. What's even better is to make your own custom. I got into doing custom builds about 4 years ago. It is my favorite thing to do. Parts swapping, kitbashing, making custom pieces. I love all of that. This hobby is really great. It also helps a lot with mental health(for me anyway). It helps with stress and let's me escape for a while. Just be free. I know it sounds goofy, but it helps
Totally agree it helps with stress. For me, it's kind of like bonsai or something similar. Just something fun to do to relax after work.
@@HowItsPlayed do you paint or just straight build? The whole process of painting a kit is relaxing, I think. I've been going through a bit of a rough patch in life, recently. Haven't been able to build a new kit in months.
@@douggoins2960 I haven't painted a kit yet... they seem to look pretty nice just right from the box and I've never tried air brushing before. I do use a top coat on most of my models, though.
@@HowItsPlayed that's cool. Not everyone is into painting and doing extra stuff to their kits. I started out that way. Then I began to hand paint in the details and it just grew from there
I've been building Gunpla for the past... Maybe about 14 years? It's actually become a pretty routine way for me to plan my PF sessions haha, grab a cheap HG or a couple 30MM kits and let my mind wander.
I am also in my gundam fan phase. We are looking for a mecha rpg at the moment. We tried the lancer, but it didn't land on with my player group.
Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of Mech-based RPGs out there. I played a ton of the Robotech RPG back in the day using the Palladium system (I think they've moved to Savage Worlds these days). Of course, there is also Mechwarrior Destiny if you like Battletech. I briefly played in a Gundam RPG using the Mutants and Masterminds system, and it worked well but took a little bit of rules hacking. And I'm sure there are Mech versions of most of the generic systems like GURPS, Cypher, and the like.
And there is a kickstarter running right now for a Pathfinder 2e game called Mechfinder.
Thank you for your detailed answer, it is very helpful.
Mandatory *ackshtually* moment because 00 is one of my favorite series (and I've seen them ALL), but the HG model you have is not another Virtue, but rather a Seravee from the second season. Apologies if you did mention that, I fast forwarded through some parts because even though I love Gundam, I don't build Gunpla.
