    budget tips
    -have a grey pen for small white stress marks (works best on grey plastic).
    additionally u can rub the stress mark with ur nail... this one i didnt believe but it just kinda works, especially well with softer plastic just be careful about deforming.
    -a magic eraser (melamine sponge) will "ungloss" the super shiny nub u just sanded and polished to better match the original plastic.
    -i use an old metal plate rack for my runners to sit in, binder/folder sorters will probably also work.
    -a parts separator has saved me a couple times, i believe i saw someone on reddit say a lego separator works.
    -good lighting and a comfy chair, dont be a shrimp and check your posture.

    There's a side benefit to also having a cheap cutting blade set in addition to that. With a Dremel, you can modify the blades you don't need for other purposes, like shaving a thin engraved line to the side of where two parts meet or making generic chamfer shapes. Takes a bit of practice and creative planning, but you can achieve some great engraving effects with that and a cheapo set only costs ten bucks or so.

    So surprise to see how many tools from Ray Studio is featured in this video. They are not very well known outside China but they are great quality and reasonable priced. I remember waiting a whole year to get their scribers because the demand was so high. Ray himself is also a great gunpla builder.

      I am absolutely in love with Ray Studio products! They deserve to be known around the world for their quality. It’s the perfect example of tools made by people that love the hobby. I couldn’t get the scriber too, so I decided to go for the Dspiae one, but Ray just released the new model and I’m thinking about giving it a shot.

      Where do you buy raystudio tools?

      Unfortunately they are pretty hard to find outside of Asia. If you live anywhere else I would suggest looking for Dspiae tools. In my humble opinion they are slightly less good, but still legit and easier to find.

    The most important thing, a part separator. You don’t know how useful it is until you put on the wrong piece or the wrong way.
    I just got a cheap set of the basics. I’m glad I canceled the order quickly that didn’t have the part separator.

    • @TeaandGunpla
      @TeaandGunpla  5 месяцев назад +2

      That’s really a good point. Mine saved my life in multiple occasions! I am thinking about doing a part 2 video with some extra tools and the part separator will absolutely be part of it.

      @@TeaandGunpla One day I might get a pair of single bladed nippers, but with some sanding and polishing after a dual bladed nipper, the piece will look fine 99% of the time. I usually take my time with cutting it from the runners though.

    • @TeaandGunpla
      @TeaandGunpla  5 месяцев назад +3

      The single blade nippers will save you a lot of time. You can cut much closer to the surface and sand less. I couldn’t go back anymore after getting used to it.

      @@TeaandGunpla I don't mind taking a while to make building last longer. It's so fun to build them, so I'll take more time if I can get it lol. I might change my mind if I ever get a MG or if someone buys me a PG.

      That’s really a nice mindset! I love mgs, they’re my favorite line, followed by rgs. Pgs are just too big. But I need to get the Rx78 PGU sooner or later

    Awesome and very informative, i might get the dspiae siren for the simpler sanding process. Do you have any recommendation for budget nipper cutter?

    • @TeaandGunpla
      @TeaandGunpla  8 месяцев назад

      Thank you very much! I did not try the Dspiae siren, but I can tell you that it is a great brand. Alternatively I can recommend the Raser Plus combined with the Balancer. I had great results with them.

      As nipper cutter any will work to separate the part from the sprue, I use the Godhand Pn-125. Not expensive and it is very good.

      @@TeaandGunpla yes i heard that the dspiae siren is the more budget friendly of gun primer raser. I'm now torn between choosing the god hand pn 125 or the hobby mio entry level nipper + Hobby mio hm 105 which when it comes down to it is a bit cheaper than pn 125.

    • @TeaandGunpla
      @TeaandGunpla  8 месяцев назад

      Sorry for the late reply! I had to go abroad for a bit and things got a bit messy! If you are still pondering about your choice, I can tell you that Godhand in general is a great investment. They keep sharp for long time and they will last forever, if you maintain them properly. In case you got the Dspiae Siren, please let me know how is it going. I could get one too for an upcoming review of alternatives. Cheers

      @@TeaandGunpla Hey no worries, yea I'm pretty satisfied with the god hand pn125. On the other hand the Siren felt awkward to use imo. its really eating all the plastic especially the edges, and the edges often touch the other plastic part. I think part of it is how I use the siren but, in my case the Siren is do more harm than good in most cases. In the end I'm using sanding sponge for much better result, just like you said the glass file will give you faster result but with much less control and in the Siren case its really awkward to control lol. Anyway happy to see you back, cant wait for your next upload :)

      Great choice of nippers! One of the advantages of the Raser Plus are the rounded edges, that solves a bit the issue. Still I really prefer the sanding paper/sponges. Hopefully this week I'll manage to upload the water decals tutorial. Thanks for the support and happy building!

      I’m sorry for your loss. You could make one cutting and sanding the runners, but it’s not easy. I would probably find someone who can 3d print a replacement. Something like this that I found on Google: www.modellersworkshop.com.au/mg-rg-astray-red-frame-v-fin/
