Merry Christmas, guys 🎅✌️
And a very Merry Christmas to you! May your New Year be the best ever, healthy and happy!
Merry Christmas!!!
European vacation. Round about in London.
John guy Monty python in European vacation. Tv back 80s England four bbc channels. I lived there. It suxed they bring it up in the movie
"It's like he's a cartoon"
That's very much a big part of Chevy's comedy. The man loves a good pratfall or physical comedy bit.
Can definitely tell 😂
I think this is the first thing I've seen him in!
@@RyanCarrington Three Amigos, Funny Farm, and Spies Like Us are some solid 80's Chevy comedy. For something a little more serious with Chevy - Memoirs of an Invisible Man, directed by John Carpenter
@@RyanCarrington Fletch and its sequel are two classic Chevy Chase films you'll want to watch. He plays a sarcastic crime reporter which suits him perfectly since he's so good at deadpanning a line.
@@RyanCarrington It's all part of the experience.
My husband and I love this movie so much that last year for Christmas he got me an assortment of jelly samples from a gourmet shop. Yes, there were 12.
Hahaha amazing👏😂
Sounds like a keeper!
A lot of people dont know this but Chevy Chase broke his pinkie finger when he was beating up the lawn ornaments, and did most of this movie in incredible pain.
"Can I drive you out in the middle of nowhere...leave you for dead?"
Merry Christmas.
It's my favourite Christmas film because it holds all aspects, it has its nice bits that people look for in a Christmas film but it's also funny and actually relatable, the Christmas period tends to be 1 month of stress for 1 day of enjoyment, even worse if you're the host. Probably why in the UK the booze comes out before noon.
Haha probably!
Merry Christmas 👊
This is one of my fav Xmas movies next to scrooged! Eddie is always just ridiculous and I too love how they just freak out about the squirrel.. just kills me every time.
The shaky "COPS" cam cracks me up every time. Such a clever visual gag.
Yeah, that was a great touch!
What's everyone's favourite part/quote of the movie? 🎅
Please react to :
*National Lampoon's Vacation (1983)*
New sub from Chile+1
“You serious Clark?”
“Why is the carpet all wet Todd?”
“I don’t knoooow Margot!”
Makes me howl😂
@@nicolem376 that line is so hilarious
'' Hallelujah! Holy ****! Where's the Tylenol?! ''
I missed this notification, I love this movie!! I snorted so loud laughing at the cat getting roasted 🤣 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
love how this reactor pronounces the word "squirrel." lol
Apologies, "squirl" 😂
Merry Christmas Ryan! I saw this in the theater and the whole audience was howling! Always a pleasure watching the classics with you.... And have a happy New Year! ✌
I can imagine! 😂
Merry Christmas to you too. Hope you have a good one 🤙
Merry Christmas!
This is my favorite Christmas movie it never gets old
It's a definite fun one! I can see why it gets so much love.
Have a nice Christmas ✌️
Recently found your channel, Ryan, and am thoroughly enjoying your reaction videos. Between your comments, laughs, and accent, I'm having a great time at a time when I need it. So, thank you!
So glad to hear that, Jeff! You take it easy, man!
Yes, please watch the others National Lampoon movies. I rewatched the European Vacation one recently, it was pretty bad. Way more awkward, lot more nudity, and a cameo from a young Hagrid. Eric Idle had a bit part in it, he was definitely a highlight. Good luck!
I'm definitely up for checking out the others!
It's a great holiday classic for a reason
Bro, did NOT expect a RUclips reactor to make the same Fast and Furious connection that I do every time I watch this. Bravo! 👏 😅
(Although, it was the reverse for me as I saw Christmas Vacation way before I saw Fast and Furious. So, I think of Christmas Vacation every time I watch Fast and Furious lol)
"You surprised?"
"Surprised, Eddie? If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am right now."
Fun Fact: Beverly D'Angelo improvised grabbing Chevy Chase's crotch when the SWAT team holds up the house. She later said she did it on only one take, on the off chance it could make the film's final cut, which is what happened.
Final Bow Fact: Final film of Mae Questel, whose film career began in 1930, as the voice of Betty Boop.
Location Location Fact: The house in which the neighbors, Todd (Nicholas Guest) and Margo (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), live is the same house where the Murtaugh family lived in all four Lethal Weapon movies. The houses on this street are on the Warner Brothers backlot.
Signature Joke Fact: After Clark Griswold unsuccessfully attempts to demonstrate his handiwork with the house Christmas lights to his family, he asks Rusty (Johnny Galecki) to help him check all the light bulbs again. Rusty looks at his bare wrist, pretending to have a watch, and excuses himself. Looking at a bare wrist and pretending to have a watch is one of Chevy Chase's trademark gags.
Ooh thanks for the interesting read!
That crotch bit was genius. I almost missed it!
I keep meaning to watch Lethal Weapon. Just set a reminder! 🤙
You're very welcome! You'll love the Lethal Weapon franchise, but I would honestly stop after the third one.
Merry Christmas! (Luke 2 : 8-14 (KJV)) 🎄 🎅
Go in Peace and Walk with God. 😎 👍
@BigGator5 Merry Christmas!
So glad to see you back, hope you are well and have a wonderful season
You too, Merry Christmas!
The cast members wore cards around their necks facing away from camera with each insult to help Chevy remember them 😊 26:20
You're right in saying his boss is Scrooge. In a way both Murray brothers (Bill and Brian Doyle-Murray) played a version of that character in Christmas classics
He's Bill Murray's brother?!
@@RyanCarrington Yup
Brian Doyle Murray, who plays his boss in this movie, was in the first National Lampoon's Vacation movie too, in a smaller role. He was the hotel manager of the tent campground
New Subscriber..
Loved ur reaction, it was honestly the laugh I needed tonight..
Thank you..
Ok, Merry.......uh, ok its Labor Day here in the States. Glad you enjoyed it. Yep Gotta see "Family Vacation" then "Vegas Vaction" the just for fun, "Kingpin" Cousin (Randy Quaid) Eddie's Movie with Woody Harrelson. You will love all 3!!! Thanks for sharing.
This is a Christmas tradition movie in my house. Every year for decades.
“How many insults were in there?”
The director and Chevy Chase knew he was going to improv the insults, so the director decided to spice it up. The other actors held up cards with insults on them and Chevy integrated every single one in his rant. He did it in one take.
My fav lines though?
“Why is the carpet all wet, Todd?”
“I don’t know, Margo!”
Hahaaa that's brilliant!
Ah man, I can see how the Todd and Margot line would be a favourite.
The delivery was perfect 😂
You can even buy a pair of sweaters with those lines on it. I have been sorely tempted for years to get them for us.
My dad during the holidays used to always shout "Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?!" when things got chaotic.
Timeless.
Oh, another underrated is:
"I don't want to go sledding down this hill with nothing between me and my brain but a government piece of plastic."
"Do you really think it matters, Edward?"
This has yet to be a Christmas Eve movie in my household.. one to add to the list? Santa 🎅 🤶
1. Want chaos? All we need is Eddie. 🤣
2. GOOF: The lights outside the attic window don't match the pattern with the rest of the house.
3. My favorite part is when Ellen pulls the chain on the trap door. 🤣🤣
4. Mae Questel played Aunt Bethany. She was the original Betty Boop and Olive Oyl, This was her last gig.😇
5. In the big rant scene the other actors had Chevy's lines written on placards so he
wouldn't get his lines out of order.
6. Living next door to them must be kind of like living next door to the Bundys.
7. Fun fact; Chase actually hurt his hand karate chopping the reindeer.
8. Clark's boss is Brian-Doyle-Murphy (Bill Murry's brother) calls him greaseball when he drops off his gift. Then doesn't get his name right until the very end.
9. Ellen is played by Beverly DeAngelo. She also played in "Every Which way but Loose" with Clint Eastwood and in "Hair". EWWBL would be a great first time share but "Hair" would give you copywrite issues. Finally, she has a couple of kids with Al Pacino. I like her better than the sales girl.😍😋🥰
10. This IS my Christmas movie every year
11. Fun fact: This is the only Vacation where Audrey is older than Rusty.
12. My picks in order: Christmas, Vacation, European and finally Last Wages.
Man, I appreciate all the detail here 👊🤙
Merry Christmas! Impressive turnaround time for the edit.
I almost had it out yesterday! Although I didn't leave the house at all 💀
Merry Christmas dude!
Merry Christmas Ryan, hope you have a great day 🎄🎁👍🏻 Although Clark's house and the neighborhood are covered in snow, it was actually in Warner Bros. Ranch in Burbank, California, not far from Roger Murtaugh's house from Lethal Weapon. Sadly it was or will be demolished to make room for new sound stages and office complex.
Ahhh that's sad!
I'm actually looking at starting lethal weapon soon 🤙
Have a nice Christmas!
Glad to see you back
👊👊👊
Merry Christmas!
So the ladder gag is actually something that happened a lot I mean a lot when those ladders first came out. They hadnt gotten the locks perfected yet and yes many times the lock would give and there you go sliding down .
Haha oh jeez! 😅😂
Merry Christmas from Florida, Ryan. I hope you have a great one.
Thabk you! You too! 👊
Nice to see you back, Ryan. Thought you disappeared for a couple months. A belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. :)
Happy new year! 👊
My family quotes this movie all year round 😊
Yes, Russ is also in Big Bang Theory show 😅😊 And the boss is the voice actor for The Flying Dutchman 😂😊 Great Aunt Betty is the voice actor for Betty Boop 😊 it's just such a good fun beautiful movie that catched a glimpse of average suburban "Medium class" family life😅
i recommend you react to :
*National Lampoon's Vacation (1983)*

Definitely coming after watching this!
Play ball!
Cousin's Eddie family is a recurring character from the first movie... (with the summer vacation).
The lady that played Aunt Bethany is the original voice actor for Betty Boop and Olive Oyl from Popeye
I've been told about Betty Boop, but I wasn't aware about Olive! That's cool.
Hi Ryan.. I realized i was just hurling out western movies at you after watching Blazing Saddles..i pictured you ducking & dodging them like they we're rocks.. Sorry.. it was like i was just talking about what i wanted..truth is..whatever you watch will be wonderful and enjoyable. Just happy you're back & Merry Christmas or Chrimbo day✌
Hahaha don't worry about it! Appreciate the input!
Merry Christmas, hope you have a good one 🎅🤙
Cousin Eddie and his wife (same actors) are from the original movie! But they don't really make any callbacks aside from a small comment when he first shows up. Definitely check out the OG sometime!
I'll for sure get to it! 🤙
Some people are easily unhinged by animals. I had a flatmate that woke me up at 6am proclaiming "theres a wild animal in the house". He was hiding on the stairs when I pulled the sofa out. As it scurried around the floor before running out the front door he was so startled he snapped the banister in 2. A 6'2" 230lb UFC fighter. Petrified of a 3" baby bunny. Lol
Ahaha "there's a wild animal in the house"
That's brilliant.
Name and shame 😂
@@RyanCarrington not sure you're old enough to know him. He was on TUF 7, Dante Rivera.
You should check out the other Griswold flicks:
Vacation
European Vacation
Vegas Vacation
and also The Great Outdoors! Hilarious John Candy flick!
The boss is the brother of the guy from "Scrooged" 😂
Yeah, I'm just learning this!🤯
Real niiice. Messy Xmas!
you needed to watch 'Vacation' before this, whoever says different is mistaken. 'Vacation' introduces you to the Griswolds and the little quirks that makes Clark, also you have some background on Eddie so he just isn't a pop up character. there is little easter eggs and jokes you wouldn't get without seeing the first movie.
I'll check out the other movies soon 🤙
Clark Griswald is the GOAT! The first of the trilogy is a fantastic, wacky film. The third one is "European Vacation", and it was a good film , but I just can't accept the two kid's in it. Maybe It's just me?? Another banger! And I don't me sausage!!
Definitely looking forward to checking out the others.
The European one seems to be dividing people 😅
Christmas recommendation:
Highly recommend Jingle All the Way starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad
I so love watching your reactions to comedy films. It's like seeing many of my favorites for the first time. Many thanks and Merry Christmas 🎅
Aw thanks man!
Merry Christmas 🎅👊
National Lampoon had some greats. Check out "Animal House" sometime for a non-seasonal reaction.
I'm definitely up for checking out the others after watching this 🤙
Merry Christmas to you. 🎄 One thing about Clark Griswold is he's chaotic good and things always just accidentally end up working for him. Also, if you haven't already seen Eyes Wide Shut (1999), Stanley Kubrick's last film, I highly recommend it for one of next year's Christmas movies. It doesn't get much more Christmas than that one, but you might want to watch it early in your line up so you can watch happier things after. Lol ✌🏽
Uh oh 🤨.... hahaha
Russ is Johnny Galecki (Leonard) from the Big Bang Theory.
You definitely would love National Lampoons European Vacation
From the comments, this one seems like marmite! Intriguing!
I know squirrels aren't dangerous, but they often carry bugs, germs, and rabies.
And I'm out here feeding them out my hands and taking cute pictures 😅
Happy Christmas
Merry Christmas 🎅
Yes, the son Russ is from The Big Bang Theory.
Hey, you recognized Johnny Galecki from Big Bang Theory! 😎
I definitely wasn't 100%
Thought this might be another one i was completely wrong about 😅
The first Vacation is the best one, and then this one is 2nd best. IMO
I'll be checking that one out too 🤙
The best overreaction to a squirrel was that video call guy this year in his home office! Have you seen that? Just look up "squirrel interrupts conference call" here on RUclips - it still cracks me up to this day!
Omg I've just watched it
Ahahahah!
@@RyanCarrington 😂😂
This was the first Vacation movie I saw on NBC back in the 90's.
All Clark wants is a normal family Christmas but not everything goes according to plan.
You can say that again 😄
So the Griswolds you need to see the 2 before this one. National Lampoons Family Vacation and National Lampoons European Vacation
Yeah, I'll be getting to those after checking out this one 🤙
I have a yule log for Beverly D'Angelo
Russ is the actor from big bang theory.
I thought so!
the Vacation films are a mixed bag. This is probably the best, but National Lampoon's Vacation is the first and second best. There was also Las Vegas Vacation which was okay. the modern remakes tho... oof.
Please react to :
*National Lampoon's Vacation (1983)*
New sub from Chile+1
Great to have a Chilean in the community!
After watching this, National Lampoon's Vacation is definitely on the way 👌
Merry Xmas, shitter was full
Ellen is the real life girlfriend of Al Pacino (or maybe they broke up), Their son Rusty played Leonard from the Big Bang Theory and David from Roseanne, Clark's boss is the real life brother of Bill Murray and Ellen's mom plays Robert and Ray's mom on Everybody Loves Raymond.
Pacino is a lucky guy!
I thought that was the Big Bang Theory dude! I clocked the mom from Everyone Loves Raymond. I mentioned it in the full length. But I'm only just learning about Bill Murrays brother! 🤯
@@RyanCarrington Beverly D'Angelo (Clark's wife, Ellen) was married and she was falling for Pacino. When she told her husband she wanted a divorce and why, he gave them his full blessing since he was a huge Pacino fan! (Useless knowledge is my forte lol). I think they have twins together.
I've never seen anyone react that way to a squirrel before either lol. And I've always wondered how they got that huge ass tree from the lot. Unless they hooked the car to it and pulled it out roots and all. A stretch but the only way I can see it happening. I highly doubt all 4 of them rocked it loose and dug it from the dirt.
Anyways have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year! Keep up the great work on your reactions...you're "sleighing" it 😁
@@stacycoy5437 I heard there was a scene cut out of Clark going back to the owner of the lot asking to borrow an axe and all he has for him is a shovel.
@@mikegilgenbach4840 lol probably something that could have been kept in the movie! I'm surprised that a. The lot didn't tell him that he's now into the deep woods to cut down a tree and they aren't helping him commit a crime by stealing a tree b. A Christmas tree lot doesn't have an axe? Lol..sorry I delve too deep sometimes
Please check out National Lampoon Vacation from 1983. That includes the debut of cousin Eddie.
I meant to have watched it by now, but got sidetracked. Coming soon!
You have to react to National Lampoon's Class Reunion next. It's a horror spoof movie.
I'll definitely be taking a look at the other movies 🤙
Fun fact. They guy who plays Todd is the brother of the 6 fingered man.
Who an earth is that? 😅
@@RyanCarrington Have you not watched The Princess Bride? If you havent, put it at the top of your movie to do list. It will soon be your top viewed reaction video. Im realizing that identifying the six fingered man my be spoiler territory.
@Mike Gilgenbach oooh okay, cheers for the heads up! Guess I'll be checking that out soon then 😅
There are one or two references to the previous film but nothing important.
I'll probably be in the minority here, but I really like the 2015 reboot Vacation. It's by the same filmmakers as Game Night and it does a similarly great job of subverting expectations all the way through.
I've heard of that movie, but I didn't know it was a reboot of this series.
@@RyanCarrington It's one of those ones that is also a sequel.
Yeah it is more of a sequel than a reboot. It focuses on a grown up Rusty and his family's vacation trip. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo have cameo appearance towards the end of the movie as Clark and Ellen Griswald. One of the running gags throughout the series is that the two of them always play Clark and Ellen but Rusty and Audrey are always played by different actors. They even switch up their ages as to which one is older and which one is younger. Also, the Vacation movie does bring back the Family Wagon Truckster from the first movie too, in all it's Metallic Pea glory!
It ain't Christmas until the shitter is full
For the people that always say it's only a squirrel; how would you like for one to jump out of your tree in the living room? It's different when it's outside, but to have one just leap out of your Christmas tree!
You ask about the fear of a squirrel, Americans are afraid of everything
Love your sence of humor, you caught all the jokes, most don't. Merry Christmas brother
Thanks as always for watching 👊
Have a good Christmas! 🤙
you sped up his home movie lol
Randy Quaid was a great actor. He’s lost the script these days.
Yeah, I just saw a video someone told me to watch, and WOW 😂
@@RyanCarrington lol…yep!
Clark would have to spend his entire bonus on all the repairs his home would need.
Haha definitely 😆
