At the beginning of the movie, when we saw the Griswold family station wagon slip between the wheels of the log hauler, I'm amazed at the stunt drivers' balls of steel and how they handled both vehicles. No matter how much compositing is done and how many safety precautions are taken, it's still a super dangerous stunt to pull off.

I have a DVD with director's commentary and he said that was one of the first scenes they filmed and he was afraid something bad was going to happen and he was thinking it had been a bad idea.

C/Z- National Lampoons Vacation -1983 (the original Griswold family vacation). Guys, 1983 Vacation is one of the funniest movies of all time. Cam/Zay great reaction to this Christmas classic and you will both love the original Vacation also. Chevy Chase is so good/funny in that movie as well. Love to see you react to that classic gem!

Fresh Christmas trees are notoriously sticky. The sap gets on your hands and you stick to everything for a day or two. Chevy Chase was a very famous comedian at the time this movie was made. He starred for years on Saturday Night Live alongside Bill Murray, John Belushi, Dan Akroyd and Eddie Murphy, among many others.

Aykroyd and Belushi also Murray are correct....Eddie Murphy is a few years later down the timeline. ...A very unknown little piece of trivia related to Chevy Chase is that he was also a drummer that played with a very early incarnation of Steeley Dan....Aykroyd is also an unknown musician as well who has collaborated with many well known musicians back in the 70's

Chevy Chase (Clark) was one of the original cast members of SNL along with other cast members such of Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, John Belushi, Jane Curtain, Gilda Radnor. He was the first "Weekend Update" anchor as well as the first SNL cast member to impersonate a U.S. President (Gerald Ford). Clark Griswold is one of his iconic movie characters as he played the character in National Lampoon's Vacation, European Vacation, and Vega Vacation.

We're going to have the hap, hap, happiest reaction since Bing Crosby tap danced with Danny Fing Kaye.
His hands were sticking to the magazine pages because of all the tree sap. The reason the tree went up in flames was because the dog kept drinking all of the water in the stand. Chevy Chase did most of his own stunts (including the sled scene, though I'm sure he didn't do the actual driving under the truck stunt) and actually broke his finger when he was punching the Santa decorations. There are several call backs to the first Vacation movie, both the beginning scene in the car and the end scene with the SWAT team are basically rewrites of the same scenes in the first movie. Clark also accidentally kills another old lady relative's pet in the first movie.

You probably don't recognize him in this, but Russ was played by a young Johnny Galecki. He's known more recently as Leonard Hofstadter on "The Big Bang Theory". Also, the woman neighbour, Margo (I think that's her name), was played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who would begin to be seen as Elaine Benes on "Seinfeld" close to the time this was released.

The other Vacation movies are totally worth it. This one was a sequel (Vacation was the original) and even tho it stands alone great as a Xmas classic, there are some scenes that take it for granted that the characters had already been set up in previous films... like Eddie showing up LOL . That's more funny if you already knew of "cousin Eddie"
BTW... the scene in bed where his hands were sticking to everything was from cutting up the live tree and having sap all over his hands. Totally a thing LOL
This was a fun reaction! Merry Christmas guys!! Squirrel!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone always comments on the sewer being green and ask how human feces could do that. It was a chemical toilet in an RV, it's not the feces that's the problem, it's the chemicals used to break them down.

Have to say I'm 64 years old and I watch along to your reactions and laugh like hell.Just a few notes: I read somewhere that Bill Murrey has at least 5 brothers and sisters, and the Murrey brothers own a bar (somewhere prob.California)called Caddyshacks. When I was younger I had a huge Nat'l.Lampoon magazine collection and in the original Vacation story, set in the 1950s and "narrated" by the son, the Griswolds set out for Disneyland(or Disneyworld, can't remember
the park in Cali.),have numerous setbacks, some featured in the movie version, and when they arrive at the Disney park it's closed.Clark loses it, drives to a gun store where he purchases a rifle, then calmly drives to Walts' house and shoots him in the leg. It's funnier in the mag.Anyway..fave.reactions when I need a lift. The adlibs are the best.Thanks.

36:28 it was written down. when he's having his mental/verbal breakdown. the family watching Clark scene was filmed twice.
once from the front so you see their faces and when their backs are toward us. that's when they were holding Chevy's lines
for that scene. I always thought he adlibed it, but the family held cue cards with those names on them. I think if he adlibed
it we would have seen an R rated or even NC-17 Christmas movie.

In the fall of 1975 Saturday night live went on TV for the first time. Chevy Chase became a huge star overnight on that show as the first cast member doing the weekend update and also with a couple of well-known skits. movie offers just came pouring into him so he never came back after the first season except as a guest host. to start the second season we got to meet his new replacement Bill Murray. Chevy Chase was in I think four major films before the 70s ended. in the 80s he was a huge comedy film star right there next to Bill Murray and Eddie Murphy,And Steve Martin.

    "You surprised?"
"Surprised, Eddie? If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am right now."
Fun Fact: Beverly D'Angelo improvised grabbing Chevy Chase's crotch when the SWAT team holds up the house. She later said she did it on only one take, on the off chance it could make the film's final cut, which is what happened.
Final Bow Fact: Final film of Mae Questel, whose film career began in 1930, as the voice of Betty Boop.
Location Location Fact: The house in which the neighbors, Todd (Nicholas Guest) and Margo (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), live is the same house where the Murtaugh family lived in all four Lethal Weapon movies. The houses on this street are on the Warner Brothers backlot.
Signature Joke Fact: After Clark Griswold unsuccessfully attempts to demonstrate his handiwork with the house Christmas lights to his family, he asks Rusty (Johnny Galecki) to help him check all the light bulbs again. Rusty looks at his bare wrist, pretending to have a watch, and excuses himself. Looking at a bare wrist and pretending to have a watch is one of Chevy Chase's trademark gags.

This has been our (like many) family film since it came out. I was born the year after and it was always a staple,
along with late 80s, early 90s SNL. Such a ridiculous film but fun and with good one liners and memorable quotes to last the year. 😂
Also, truly very cold in the suburbs of Chicago back then, moreso than now, so I try to think of that everytime I see this film. I like to believe they probably went close or into Canada for a tree **fictional film wise** However, for all we know they could have also gone to the U.P. *the actual filming for most of the movie was in CO*

Chevy Chase is a comedy legend. His time on SNL, is iconic. He was huge in the last 70’s to earl 90’s. I loved “Modern Problems”, “Caddy Shack”, “Fletch”

Chevy Chase is a douche of a human being and yet he is one of the best physical comedians of all time. Happy Hollidays gents. Let’s all take a break from all the animosity out there and have a good laugh and get back to loving our neighbour and remember how great it can be to simply laugh and have some Good Cheer. I know I’m ready for it and you guys are great at bringing it.

The girl in the poster over Rusty’s bunk was Carre Otis, a model who was very popular in the 80’s. She acted in 4 movies, including a mainstream erotic film that came out about the same time as Christmas Vacation.

Another great reaction. The ONLY thing I don’t love about your channel is that the action/TV programs aren’t my favorite genre. So, I don’t watch them. So, I don’t get much from those reactions. I’m NOT requesting you to NOT do those. It’s your channel. Do what you love!!!! But… I it doesn’t get me excited when I see there’s a reaction more up my alley. You two are are great reactors. Excellent team. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
