    This season is a great example of how terrible the chase is. Seasons like 2007 when Gordon had 30 top tens, 2010 when Harvick was a monster all year, 2014 when gordon was amazing, 2020, Harvick winning 9 races. The chase screwed Gordon and Harvick so bad. I hate it.

    Jeff could've easily been the champion in 2014. One of the most successful seasons for the #24 team and who had to go and ruin it? Ryan Freaking Newman. The guy had 0 wins and 4 top 5's compared to Gordon's 4 wins and 14 top 5's. If NASCAR wouldn't have messed up the championship format, Jeff would've had 7 championships. I can see why Jeff retired when he did. NASCAR is a joke now. Jeff Gordon 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion.

      Jeff had the best car at Homestead too. Harvick would've shitted himself if Jeff had made it into the Final 4. Homestead was the race where Jeff, Alan, and the 24 engineers showed his true best car and Jeff shitted on the field that day. Phoenix I swear was the final straw for my dad watching Nascar. He was cursing his ass off and grilling Ryan Newman ass. We watched from 2004 all the way to that Phoenix race. We went to every Atlanta race from 2008 to 2016 too so it was cool to see both of our drivers win at Atlanta. He doesn't have that fire to watch Nascar anymore and after Jimmie(my favorite) leaves, I will probably leave as well unless all the young guns for Hendrick start winning or run better compared to this year.

    I get what NASCAR tried to do with The Chase. It was like a playoff system for the best drivers on the year just like baseball, basketball, football, etc. The problem is that everyone who isn’t in the chase still got to race and influence the outcome of the other drivers in the hunt for the title. When theMLB playoffs are set, there’s only those teams in the playoffs still competing and once they’re eliminated, they go home too. In NASCAR, they can still race and affect the outcome of the race which shouldn’t happen if done right. I thought it’d maybe be a little more exciting to watch if only the cars in the chase were the only ones on the track. That way the best of the best are still the only ones affecting the outcome. It’d be easier to let Jimmie Johnson’s 07 championship sit with me if he only had to race those that had already proved themselves throughout the year. Just my two cents.

    I just think back to that Texas race in the playoffs, and Jeff Gordon getting his tire cut down because of contact with Brad. Idk how he ended up a lap down when he spun in turns three and four near pit road entrance, but that prevented him from gaining any more points that race. Points that would’ve made all the difference when Newman dive bombed Larson to get into the final four. I think the worst part was he had two consecutive 2nd place finishes after that, and it wasn’t enough. For sure would’ve been five wins in 2014, and, with a sense of purpose going into that final race, a possible championship. :(

    Should’ve won that Texas race if it weren’t for Brad Kesolowski but Gordon’s pit crew is what choked

    • @jeffgordonedits1258
      @jeffgordonedits1258  5 лет назад +1

      Lol, choked? A team that averages a 10th place finish over an entire season can hardly be called chokers. Besides even if they had finished 16th at Texas (if the pit stop had gone right) there's no guarantee he'd have finished 2nd at Phoenix the following week. You can't go back in time and change something and expect everything that follows after that to remain the same.
