    Didn't matter who the crew chief was, didn't matter the team, this guy just flat out knew how to drive a race car. If it wasn't for back luck, he'd easily have 100 Cup series wins.

      Funny, but also back then the restarts were lead lap cars in 1 lane, lap cars in the next. A lot easier to get a good restart when 2nd place is behind you and the car next to you is someone you've lapped previously.

I think that would be cool to go back to that since most cars dont use V-8 anymore and I think they should stay V-8 in the cup series but V-6 in Xfinty series would be cool and give it something unique

    Jeff didn't ever run many Busch races after getting the 24 ride but it was always a special race when he did I recall. I always wanted to see him in more Busch races like Kyle Busch or Mark Martin or Kevin Harvick did but he wasn't ever interested apparently?

      Jared Kinney Jr He was focused solely on his cup car. That's why he was so dominant. Unlike the cats you just mentioned that's why they aren't as dominant and always had bad runs. They never focused on the cup cars production like he did.

      Good thing too. Imagine Jeff in the 22 instead of the 24. Would have been a waste of Jeff's talent. He still would have been successful enough on talent alone, but no way the 22 would have won 4 cups and 95 races.

    • @zlinedavid
      @zlinedavid 2 года назад +2

      He wasn’t Gordon, but in hindsight, Bobby wasn’t exactly a backmarker. 21 career wins, and was the first driver to ever win both a Cup and a Busch/Xfinity title. Bobby was a pretty good consolation prize.
