I love all the idiot know it all cry baby Karen's in the comments "oh it was illegal they were cheating blah blah". But they're dale fans or fans of one of the other old timers who allllllll pushed the rules just the same!!! The car was LEGAL when it showed up to the Winston LEGAL when it left that night. Passed tech and was not an illegal car like some cry babies wanna say it was. They simply did what all the other good old drivers n teams did back then n read the rules and interpret and innovate around them so they were legal but on that edge. Every team did something at one point to push the limits it's what keeps competition competitive everyone's always tryna go faster. The car was NOT illegal until the next day. Bill France told Ray after the race that night to call his boss n tell him the car will be illegal tomorrow. Not that night for the race. The next day they wrote a ton of new rules and implemented NEW rules to MAKE the car illegal from there on. So anyone who wants to say Hendrick is a cheater n Gordon n Ray cheated with that car your just ignorant n have no clue what your talking about stop making yourself look like fools. And Nascar nowadays sucks it's cookie cutter cars with all the same shit nobody can do anything to innovate n it's become a joke. It's not even a championship anymore it's participation trophies. Championships are consistency and putting together an entire season n being the best throughout like world of outlaws. Matt Kenseth was the last true NASCAR champion period. The only person who said what really happened was Benny Parsons. Rusty hit the apron with his left front which loosen him up enough to slow a fraction THEN (and only then) did Jeff bump him... FOR THE WIN!! I think NASCAR told them to to repeat it so they could stoke the rivalry... which worked.
