I like Antec, but I don't care for the wooden "picture frame" design. The North was cool because it looked like the wood was doing something, here it looks like the wooden paneling on a station wagon.
To me it looks like it could be at home next to one of those frame TVs. Just turn off the unicorn vomit which is what REALLY makes it look out-of-place. Or set it all to white, I guess.
No one does wood as well as Fractal Design. I don't know why they even bother. That trim around the front panel looks like wood trim to hold the glass on the greenhouse 😅, not a good look.
I don't much care about the max RPM that a fan can spin, I do care about how well the fan affects the temperatures of interest and how much noise it makes doing so. I have seen many circumstances where a fan that is ostensibly better in theory, is not better in practice. I have some doubt that there are substantial untapped gains to be made over what Arctic, Noctua etc. have achieved thus far.
last case I owned was the 1200 and haven't been in the PC scene for around a decade or more. I loved it and yes it does make me feel old too lol. Been slowly gathering components to build a PC with my son.......time sure flies
The Antec Eleven Hundred was the first PC case I ever bought, hadn't seen anything that interested me since then, nice to see them making cool stuff again. The 1M looks great, reminds me of my Terra build shape.
I actually really dig that handheld with it's smaller form factor and slide screen with full keyboard and dock. But not at that price point with that screen. Wish it was more of an entry level handheld gaming PC.
I remember back in the early 2000s, Antec was it. Then they just went downhill for many years but I am so glad they are back. Releasing some great products!
@@WA5ON1 I completely agree with you. Nowadays, all pc cases seem to blend together, which is quite disheartening. However, this particular case stands out with its sleek design and fresh appearance.
Is it just me or do the corner plastic pieces on the inside of the Flux and Flux pro front cover which separate the wood pieces just make it look like the wood is ill fitting. Maybe if those pieces matched the colour of the wood or god forbid if they lit up that could be cured. Other than that looks like a lovely case. Cheers Dimitry, Michael and Eber.
I just got into retro handhelds 1 month ago and have been researching a bunch. It is absolutely astounding the amount of companies who are releasing a new gaming handheld atm.
At around 9:15 there is discussion about MB PWM controllers being only reactive in controlling fan speed but there is nuance here to consider. Agreed that sudden ramp up/down can be very noticeable but any decent/modern MB BIOS includes a fan setup section that provides hysteresis settings such that on a per fan basis, one can set rate of fan speed ramp up and ramp down independently. This in addition to the fan curve which is set up in the usual way. With this, one can dial in quite tolerable fan behavior. Of course, if one wants even more control, one can use a program such as FanControl which provides even more tricks. But one can still do quite well with just the BIOS controlling a PWM fan straight off the fan header.
Yep, that's exactly what it is. The outer shells look identical, they both have 60hz 1080p displays, the face button layout is the same, the joysticks look the same, the keyboard looks the same, and they both use the same CPU. They're also the same price, which makes sense all things considered.
@@davidfaustino4476 Those are different designs. Just having a slide screen doesn't mean it's a ripoff. By that thinking, the GPD Win 4 is a ripoff of the Danger Sidekick, or you could argue it's a ripoff of the Sony PS Vita, cause of its shape and aesthetic.
I like Antec. I hope they improve their product availability in the United States. I really like the look of the Orbit fans but, I prefer a silent PC build. So, I guess a P10 FLUX, F-LUX & some Nova Fans would suite my wants the best.
Be nice if they could update the Dark Cube case. Probably one of my favorite looking MATX cases I've seen in recent years. Probably gonna buy one soon before it gets discontinued or something. I wanna do an MATX build in the near future to replace my laptop in my semi. Just waiting for Arrow lake and RTX 5000 or Battlemage. (Kinda leaning towards trying out Battlemage, should still be a good step up from my RTX 2080)
weird how there's a lot of new itx cases and sff gpu standards but there was nothing on itx motherboards. Only itx motherboard I have seen coverage on is gigabyte's next gen intel itx board.
So the trends of 2024 are: *Fish tank cases *Wood accents I thought we were leaving glass and RGB puke out for mesh cases. I guess only the SFF will continue with that. Luckily we still have the Asus AP201 and the Fractal North. I need that Performance 1M in MATX and mid tower ATX variants.
Kind of annoying that Fractal is getting all the credit for adjustable spine in the ITX cases. This is not the first video I see where no one even mentions FormD (not 100% sure if they did it before everyone else, but at least way before Fractal did).
Was thinking the same. It's a tech enthusiast channel so a somewhat accurate lineage would come before the popularity contest, you'd think. But yeah, that was just an offhand remark and fractal was what came to his mind first, probably. FormD is quite a fringe if we're honest - but what a fringe that is!
They patented perforated side panels? What, how? Like there have been holes on the side panels since forever. Also it seems Lian Li with their Lancool 207 had the same idea so let's see how that goes.
Very cool! But damn- if this is air cooler only and no AIO is supported, if you want a high powered GPU, you're only going to be able to manage low-TDP CPU coolers.
The cases look pretty slick, albeit for my taste the current fractal design torrent and north are the best cases. Also, i'm always glad there are more players in the handheld space, nintendo switch needs some competent competition or they will give us another potato powered 15fps pokemon machine. Although i probably won't consider buying the windows/linux handhelds before the new snapdragon chips revolution reaches them. Whether the compatibility issues for games will be a nightmare or a non-issue, we will see in a few weeks when the laptops finally come out.
The 1M looks great. I hope we get some orher color accent options. I think it'd look slick with glossy metallic gold, or semi gloss indigo as an accent colour.
I wish someone would make a nice looking mATX small but not too small case. It's a forgotten segment. I want a case that looks nice but isn't too large. Even "mid tower" is too large for my preferences. I want a modernized Silverstone FT03 case. That case looks amazing but it lacks airflow for high end hardware, even though it can physically fit inside. Please. Someone make an mATX case that doesn't force me to compromise CPU cooling or GPU compatibility, and looks as nice as Fractal's recent design offerings.
The 1M itx seems silly. No rad support, fans at the bottom (with the red tab up top, I doubt that the case can be flipped around easily), and bigger than a Terra? Nah, I'll stick with the Formd T1!
any gaming handheld should have usb 4.0 for egpu support. egpu support should be a gaming standard by now even mini pcs. so I'm disappointed and hope antec fixes that.
>18L and using sandwich style? why tho? it's just going to fuck up all your compatibility whilebut not give you the incredibly tight size advantage of stuff like the Dan Cases and Fractal Terra.
I couldn't give a crap about mid and full size cases anymore. ITX and Matx really excite me now.
I like Antec, but I don't care for the wooden "picture frame" design. The North was cool because it looked like the wood was doing something, here it looks like the wooden paneling on a station wagon.
Same... it reminds me of the 80s... not in a good way.
To me it looks like it could be at home next to one of those frame TVs. Just turn off the unicorn vomit which is what REALLY makes it look out-of-place. Or set it all to white, I guess.
I agree with you 100%. But I would take that over glass.....
With this, we get both..lol
"Looked like the wood was doing something"? What exactly was it "doing"?
@@michalsvihla1403Looking good
Bruh, ITX has been getting so many wins this year! I am so excited to see what all of the testing for them shows on how they perform.
Damn Antec. Loving the MITX cases and the new console. Just wish they would've used something faster like the 8000 series APU.
Glad to see Antec back in the PC case game.
Genius positioning of the power supply
Antec were the GOAT in 1998-2000's, for both power supplies and cases. I strongly want them to succeed in raising again.
I love this video because we get to see all of you guys taking turns presenting!
Every case manufacturer is going for wood or wood finish now a days! Also good to see the USB C
No one does wood as well as Fractal Design. I don't know why they even bother. That trim around the front panel looks like wood trim to hold the glass on the greenhouse 😅, not a good look.
I wouldn't even consider a case now-a-days without a USB C front panel input. My minimum requirements are 2 USB A and 1 USB C.
I don't like the wood personally especially with rgb fans it just doesn't match
@@Shadowzz. I agree. It looks better on the non-rgb version....but I'd still rather have aluminum or some other metal as a frame.
@Shadowzz. 100% RGB and the Wood looks so dumb. I have a Fractal Design North white mesh with All Noctua fans.
I don't much care about the max RPM that a fan can spin, I do care about how well the fan affects the temperatures of interest and how much noise it makes doing so. I have seen many circumstances where a fan that is ostensibly better in theory, is not better in practice. Remember the good ol' days when the 900 & 1200 were THEE case? Man I'm old

I am still rocking my P190! :)
any words on this 1m performance case? T__T been waiting for it.
PLEASE I love the new SFF case but why oh why can we not have MATX SFF cases, I feel like I have the middle child of motherboards
The Antec Eleven Hundred was the first PC case I ever bought, hadn't seen anything that interested me since then, nice to see them making cool stuff again. The 1M looks great, reminds me of my Terra build shape.
The mini case is really cool
I actually really dig that handheld with it's smaller form factor and slide screen with full keyboard and dock. But not at that price point with that screen. Wish it was more of an entry level handheld gaming PC.

0:23 🤔 The non-flat mesh also has the benefit of more rigidity, making it less prone to flexing. Like a corrugated sheet Vs a flat sheet.
You only want to switch to 3200rpm for benchmarks 😅 aka angry bee mode.
I would nice to see a M-ATX of the 1M case, to support dual 360.
that would be great and i wouldnt be surprised if they do it, its a very cool fresh design different from everything ive seen tbh
@@WA5ON1 I completely agree with you. Nowadays, all pc cases seem to blend together, which is quite disheartening. However, this particular case stands out with its sleek design and fresh appearance.
It's good Antec is making a come back, their small cases from the past were innovative.
Is it just me or do the corner plastic pieces on the inside of the Flux and Flux pro front cover which separate the wood pieces just make it look like the wood is ill fitting.

Not just you, I thought the very same thing!
@@3st90 Thanks. Glad its not just me. Thought I was seeing things there for a minute.
Yeah these are prototypes.
@HardwareCanucks Thanks. Hopefully if enough people feel the same they will take notice and make a little change. Cheers
I wish that 1M had the red outside as well.
I just got into retro handhelds 1 month ago and have been researching a bunch. It is absolutely astounding the amount of companies who are releasing a new gaming handheld atm.
It's the new marketing trend because of the steam deck.
i think wood trim on a pc case will be trend for this year.
At around 9:15 there is discussion about MB PWM controllers being only reactive in controlling fan speed but there is nuance here to consider. omg im so excited its been so long since i had a reasion to buy a antec case
great to see Antec making cases again but the Core HS is just a rebranded AYANEO Slide.
11:30 Ok this hits me right in yhe nostalgia they got me... fuck.
The 1M is so nice
(Edited into a positive comment) 💀.
Nice to see the handheld PC market getting more competition, but Valve reigns supreme so far with the OLED model and SteamOS.
Man I just want a worthy successor to the HAF XB Evo 😢
I'm still using mine 😂
The white Core HS looks so good
Does the Flux non-pro have the same psu orientation?
Is the motherboard tray removable?
think may have just found my next case the itx case looks sweet
10:50 So basically, a rebranded Ayaneo Slide
The Ayaneo Slide is a ripoff of the GPD Win 4 😁
It literally just is the Ayaneo Slide
Yep, that's exactly what it is. The outer shells look identical, they both have 60hz 1080p displays, the face button layout is the same, the joysticks look the same, the keyboard looks the same, and they both use the same CPU. They're also the same price, which makes sense all things considered.

That white Flux case (not the Pro one) is my next case. Pending your review of course!
As a huge fan of black things with red accents, those 1M cases are making me drool now :D
yeah agreed, gave me a Star Wars Empire vibe (black, silver and red) plus I wonder what it's volume is...

does it use eco friendly wood veneers though?
What did American Walnut ever do to you 😂
Hooooly crap! Antec perfomance 1M looks fantastic!
It looks soooo good. I wonder about the fan setup though. I would've thought the fans on top more optimal.
Honestly for the size of the hs and the Add ones that’s a compelling device
3 host approach is different and surprisingly a good watch.
cable management innovation is the highlight in PC building in 2024

The température screen is using 7 segments display ? What year is it ? 1990 ? B&w OLED screen can be have for littéral pennies
Ya but 7 seg looks cool.
I like the wood trend.. should come up with something that looks like a grizwald wagon.
Antec coming back swinging.
Is the airflow in this better than my Omen 40L?
No radiator support for those cases is a bummer, they look fantastic
Love the design of the mini case. Looks like a ThinkStation. I'll have to put my AMD build in there
Good coolers HC,they could help any PC.

Good. No more water in cases.
the 1M looks nice but why no radiator support for high end systems? missed opportunity imo
The ITX case is money and also those are sweet rebranded Ayaneo handhelds 😉
What's LCP?
I hope those wood finish cases are in stock in SEA regions as well atleast the non pro version... most good antec cases not available here...

*Wood accents
