Fun fact: Salisbury, NC is the home of Cheerwine Soda and the Food Lion grocery store chain, but NOT Salisbury Steak. My dad's side of the family for many generations hailed from Salisbury, NC and I've been there many many times
I really hope Danny gets his own podcast or segment, because everything he's been in so far (Hot Dog is a Sandwich, GMMore, Sporked, etc.) have been awesome. He's a perfect fit haha
@@englishatheart Ah, the wonders of the english language. You knew it was supposed to be people without even asking them. That's an abbreviation that can stay an abbreviation, you know.
honestly guys sporked was such a great idea, I've had a couple trips to the grocery store where I legitimately thought to myself, which one of these did GMM rank highest? And literally waited in the aisle scrolling through a video like an oddball. Beef jerky was definitely one of them on a road trip.
I literally ran to the comments because he unlocked the same memory of that particular one! I used to steal my mom's all the time as a kid! But only that one!
I've never had the desire to listen to podcasts before, but Charles Neal is so naturally funny you bet your butt I'm gonna start up that podcast right now
I worked for a kitchen that fed highway state patrol men cadets for nearly five years. My father (head chef for this kitchen), a seasoned chef in his own right, would always refer to stoufers when he needed something quick and easy and delicious.
Wow banquet salisbury steak brought back memories lol we used to buy the family size frozen microwable one all the time growing up. Forgot how…interesting they look 😂
The reason they're similar meatloaf is because they're essentially the same thing. Ground beef, bread and few other things. The main difference is the sauce. Most meatloaf use a tomato base and Salisbury steak uses a gravy.
We (my brother and I) are Metaire born which is southern born and we have snapped green beans (sitting on the tailgate of our grandfather’s truck with our grandmother helping at the house that was near Bunkie) and we’ve never called them snap peas
They started with Stouffer's and I was like, oh, Stouuffer's, there's the winner right there, game over early - and sure enough Stouffer's wins. IMO, it's pretty difficult to find something that Stouffer's doesn't do well. Heck, their family size lasagna - just doctor it up a touch, and yep....made it myself, been working all day in the kitchen.....
Yeah, if I'm looking for food to prep for me and a few pals or a family/friend night I definitely look to Stouffers! (and lean cuisine all the time for my own single serve meals)
We called them string beans too and I grew up in West Central Scotland. Salisbury is a place in England and is quite famous. Especially as it is close to Stonehenge. Though here in the U.K. we pronounce it with a soft a and not the hard one that seems prevalent in the USA.
I'm a big fan of the taste tests episodes. Foods like this require more than a taste though. The real test is how do you feel after you are done. Or later in the day
Thank you for always giving me something to watch while I'm feeding my teins early in the morning. I always look forward to those 5am feedings just for this
The Lean Cuisine Link is searching for was the old version of Sesame Chicken. That was my jam. They have changed the chicken peices, and put larger veggies I believe.
I remember back In maybe the 90's or early 2000's the Stouffer's commercials that would always end with... "Stouffer's, nothing comes closer to home". I guess that holds true.
I'm from Philly PA, I grew up with "String Beans"... never heard of "green beans" until I was 18 (and a mom of an almost 1 year old) aka "green bean casserole"
I dunno what it is about this and today's GMM episode, but they seem much more energetic and like they were having some real fun. Maybe that's just my own mood and it's projecting onto how I'm viewing them, I have no idea. Either way, something made me really enjoy today's episodes.
Well for the termites thing. When people have questions like that they usually approximate for the variables. So they would approximate the exact population of termites and how much they weigh. Then for humans they would approximate how many humans there are and how much a typical human weighs.
Stouffer’s and Lean Cuisine are both made by Nestle, so they’re probably pretty similar at their base just minus all the unhealthy stuff that makes it taste good.
Just had the Stouffers Salisbury because i remembered this episode, AND THEY WERE RIGHT! Truly one of the best microwave meals I've had although the mac and cheese was bland as expected. Also the Stouffers mashed potato with chicken and corn caught my eye so i bought that aswell. I'll try that maybe tmrw
I believe the Lean Cuisine Link was referring to is the Sesame Chicken…. My mom used to buy that one when I was a kid too and I remember really liking it.
On a busy night I pop in a Banquet Salisbury Steak (oven not microwave)and whip up some instant mashed potatoes and a can of peas. easy, minimal clean up, no prep.
They didn't do "On-Cor" Salisbury steaks. If that's even still around. That was the go to for my family as a kid. But I rate it 0/10, it always had hard bits in it. 🤢
There is also a Salisbury, Missouri which has a Salisbury Steak Festival every summer. I once was in the running to be Salisbury Steak Festival Queen. 🤣
banquet meals have brought me through some tough parts of life. not saying I super enjoyed them, but I do respect them a lot for bringing some dignity to the absolute poorest with no time or skills to cook something
I gotta say, the other day I was at the groc looking for alfredo sauce, and being overwhelmed when I found its section something from the back of my mind said "hey see if it's on that sporked thing" so I googled it and lo and behold, it was and I found exactly the right sauce I was wanting
I really enjoyed what Danny brought to this episode. His personality is fantastic and interaction with Rhett and Link as amazing.
Ollliht
Yes he's great I hope to see him more
To me, Danny is by far the best on camera Sporked personality. This was a super enjoyable episode!
When I work the night shift, I'm always happy watch this in the morning when coming home.
I don't think ive seen Danny yet. He was enjoyable to watch. I swear your whole crew just has great chemistry and charisma.
He's been in 2 or 3 videos in the last 2 weeks....also no, alot of crew don't fit well and are bad members
Lol who pissed in your cheerios, Bruce?
I do miss Jen tho
He’s been on Mythical Kitchen!
He's been on a few More's.

Oh man I love Cheerwine, I work at Wegmans up north and it's like the only store you can buy the bottles in.
I work for one the food lion locations in Maryland, good place to work
Cheerwine is awesome!
i'm not from the South but I worked at a local Cost Plus World Market and they carried Cheerwine during my time there. good stuff

I believe the shredded green beans are called "French Cut".
I think so as well, I was thinking this the whole time.
It is called French cut
And its called glazed chicken. They changed it.
I literally ran to the comments because he unlocked the same memory of that particular one! I used to steal my mom's all the time as a kid! But only that one!
The fact that Stouffer's makes Lean Cuisine shows what good quality food they bring to the table.

Link that was the Glazed Chicken Lean Cuisine, also my favorite growing up. It's hard to find now in SC.
