they probably didnt have access to Yuka (mandioca) or corn crumble so i'm assuming they used wheat instead, and that must have been nasty to eat looking at Links reaction.
Brazilian here and farofa (the powdery stuff on the Brazilian plate) is EVERYTHING! Brazilian food is the best :)

As a Calgarian I was pretty excited to see Ginger Beef represented! Sadly The Silver Inn where it was invented actually shut down on October 9, 2022 when the owners retired.

@@whollitrolli it is powdery, think of it as fine sand, very crunchy and salty, it is delicious, their's looked very weird, it's not like that
@@whollitrolli you can just think of it like a dry sauce. Its just a base of toasted cassava/corn flour which you put stuff on, and then you use it to spruce other types of food. It looks weird, but its really just a strange type of sauce.
@@whollitrollithat dish was so dry! we usually eat farofa together with something wet, like beans (feijoada) or a typical brazilian barbecue sauce called “vinagrete”( tomatoes, onions, sweet pepper and vinager)… you can also make farofa moister adding banana and butter, very tasty. By the way, the garlic on steak its not usual at all in Brazil
Link has really upped his guessing game. He's been way more insightful and accurate in placing the food, in addition to vastly improving his aim over the years.
