Just found your channel and really enjoy your videos. Great videos on blackworms and vinegar eels. I culture my vinegar eels in a 1.5L soda bottle and if you use sandpaper to gently rough up the inside of the bottle at and above the water line, this helps the vinegar eels to climb up the walls.
Thank you! I have another video scheduled for publication the next week and one more video about vinegar eels in production yet. Those nematodes really deserve more publicity 🙂
@@mikes4224 this one is for some lab samples -I used a new one 😉 also, many 50-100 ml alcohol bottles have similar shape narrow neck and may may serve as well.
I've been keeping vinegar eels in disposable food plastic containers (8 -16 oz) for 2-3 years. Poke holes in the lid for air circulation and add slice of apple once in a couple months. Split the culture a couple times an year...and that's it. Use lids without holes for local transportation when I sell them (no shipping!). Wish you all the best!
I upload about dozen videos in advance and they all stay private until time of scheduled publication. The follow up video about culturing vinegar ells is scheduled for publication in the following weeks.
@@4me I have bought unfiltered apple cider vinegar a month ago, put apple in it, nothing. I did try to contact some apple cider factories, they responded that they have no such creature. I did try to dig hungarian internet and facebook for aquarium fish if anyone have vinegar eel. No result. :) I will try to make my own vinegar then, but I guess it's a little bit more time :D
Очень мешает "музыка". Когда вы прописываете субтитры, то звук можно отключить и избавиться от этого "музыкального" убожества. Впрочем, дело не в качестве музыки, а в том, что она мешает слушать человеческую речь!!!!!!
I add my music in all videos starting from 2018 mainly for copyright protection against copyright trolls and publishing companies exploiting flows and loopholes in US copyright laws and bureaucracy.
Well done! Your third method is one I have not seen before.
Thank you very much!
My vinegar eels never climb out

Thank you very much for the info! It really makes sense for helping them climb up. I will try it.
Vinegar eels! Glad you made a video about it

Fantastic - I haven't tried vinegar eels yet, so I'm looking forward to your video on how to culture. Will gather a few long neck bottles until then.
Thank you very much for been so patient with me! I moved the video to make it available for you the next Tuesday August 22nd at 6am.
thank you:)@@4me
I wonder if you remember where you found the narrow neck bottle you have the oral swabs in?

Do you leave the apple pieces in there?
Yes. Those pieces get eventually dissolved to some residue. I discard it all when I setup new cultures
@@4me Thank you
How long can eels stay in transportation bag ?
I never tried to keep them in transportation bags to tell you for sure.
@@4me I don’t mean keeping them in them in there permanently,it’s just until I acquire the acv

Couls someone send a vinegar eel base culture to Hungary?
Try making raw apple vinegar - you may find them right there 🙂
