How to Culture MILLIONS of Vinegar Eels Like a Pro!

- Take a look as I create a dozen vinegar eel cultures. This is a very simple process and the resulting live culture is one of the least expensive and easiest to care for. I let mine sit for 6 months before I begin to use them, and they will continue to produce for a year or more. Thanks to Andrew for the Bottles!

Let me know down below if you have a vinegar eel culture and what you feed them to!
what if i don't have some and do the bottle and the apple it will work
That string tip is KEY, I've looked at a dozen blog posts and like sure I can use tweezers to remove the filter floss, but the string just solves that whole issue.
Great video! Advanced technique of narrow neck bottles and harvesting process!
I'm behind on videos 😳 tanks for the vinegar eel culture video. Excellent explanation and delivery 😊
I’ve three cultures going, in a couple of wine bottles, I feed apples or grapes. Now I understand the Big Time nickname good video as always
Top video
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you for the video!!! I am going to be starting my own cultures!!! Great info!!!
Thxs for sharing
Loved this. I use wide mouth mason jars to grow the culture them and use long neck beer bottles to harvest LOL. Either way wine bottles or beer bottles, we get to drink...
Nice 👍
I've been thinking about getting into culturing my own live food. I have never done it before, but I've only been keeping fish for about 3 years or so. This year I got a stock tank and have a pond outside.
sounds like you are well on your way!
@@gregjonesonline I am really grateful that so many of you guys share your knowledge on the internet!
I like the shirt Greg
saya dari indonesia sangat ingin tau cara budidaya ini
Hi, thanks for the video. For the harvest, you mentioned that the eels would migrate through the floss over the course of days. Yet earlier you mentioned filling the bottle to the shoulder for maximum oxygenation. How long does it take for the culture to become starved of oxygen when set up for harvest?
An hour or two before harvest, top off the bottle, then come back, should work
@ Does the ACV need to have the "mother" in it ??
Yes I dosed a few syringes full of the old mixture to inoculate the new cultures
Your new name is Greg "BIG TIME" Jones. Because you don't do anything on a small scale. 😁 I chose to go the Micro worm route, both Vinegar Eels and Micro Worms have almost identical nutritional value so I don't think either one is a bad choice. I was worried about the temperature sensitivity of the Vinegar eels , my fish room is in my basement and it sometimes goes to the low 50's. In the end we are just building a bridge from egg to brine shrimp. In most cases the hardest part of the breeding journey.
Yeah I'll do a Microworm video soon, I'm not a huge fan of the smell, it would be nice if all fry could start on BBS, lol!
@@gregjonesonline We need to create a smaller brine shrimp.
@@NYGOLD fairy shrimp are smaller than bbs when they first hatch, the fat content is way worse and they are way more expensive to source, but i'm going to give it a try soon
Can someone send me a little culture to Hungary?
Do you sell these iv been looking for awhile so far all iv gotten is duds. And I breed bettas id love to get in contact with you because i will definitely buy from you
You going to sell these ?
maybe i'll just give them all away one day like a mad man!
@@gregjonesonline do it! Lol
