It was day 3 in Myanmar and we were the only tourists in the entire area! Due to the ongoing situation in Myanmar tourism has completely died over the past few years. The news has been nothing but negative headlines and tourists are understandably afraid to come. However in this video I show you the positive side to Myanmar and why you should consider coming!

I am born Burmese and left birth country in 1976. It is not paradise, it has been under military rule from the day I was born until today. The people are suffering every day and do need Tourist Dollars and so thank you for visiting.

There's been a few youtubers doing Burma recently but they have mostly done Rangoon, but only an Australian guy went further up to Mandalay and Bagan, your blog has been so much better you have gone to a place way out on the west coast, that is a place i would like to travel to. i live in Thailand and have been wanting to drive across Burma for a long time but its not possible, so i might follow in your footsteps.

Besides, Myanmar should learn from the likes of North Korea & Bhutan in dealing with 'Foreign Tourism' in order to maintain the country's cultural heritage, socio-economy & other factors, and at the same time to promote 'Domestic Tourism'.

I backed packed Myanmar for a month a few good years ago. Still one of the most unique countries ive visited with the kindest people.
Also got to do some photography... amazing memories
I love seeing locals, no matter what country you are in, be genuinely appretiative when you give them a tip.
Tip as a tourist and create tourist prices! Smart.

Been to Myanmar numerous times myself but only border runs from Thailand (13 years mainly in bkk). Hopefully one day, I'll venture inside / explore 😅 the beach looks awesome so did that pool.

@@ominousplatypus380 arent there thousalds of islands of the coast of Burma? I watched a travel video that showed all these really cool looking islands like Pillars and arches and that sort of thing, some too small to land on but others that people stopped and explored off the coast. Burma (or Miramar itself is a Peninsula most of which apparently is not really a good idea to go to), but I remember there being lots of islands all around that looked really cool

I think ALL of the Peninsula of Burma looks great; I was just thinking about Islands because they were talking about taking a boat to the island. I know the area has issues at the moment and I hope they get resolved soon so the people can get back to making a good living off Tourists.
yeah - I'm off to Kyrgyzstan soon - to check out the islands there - but I don't think they will beat those in Belarus

Great video. Not sure if you noticed it but there is a beautiful monument and cemetery for British soldiers who died in Burma during WWII that I noticed it as we were on a tour bus returning to Yangon not far from the city and asked the driver to pull over. The inscription, They Liveth Evermore caused tears to instantly well up.

What happened in Laos? I was watching a video where in Thailand they diluted alcohol (drinks) with methanol and poisoning.

I had sea urchin at Borough Market in London. You just eat the inside, tasted salty as I recall similar to oysters but very red in colour

Burma (Myanmar) is a cruel cruel dictatorship, led
by a military junta. The government many years ago changed the country’s name to cover this up. A fresh start. Forced labour and forced evictions prop up the wonderful beaches and hotels that the tourists enjoy. Tourism money Ben, funds this. The UK don’t trade with Burma. Very few multi nationals do either. Hopefully your videos will educate us all a bit better. Take care. PM

I’m so glad you two went to Myanmar. I remember choosing it on a poll. Or at least I thought I did. Small brained Americans Myanmar series was so chaotic and amazing, I figured you and Kat would show us the less chaotic side. The more normal experience. You should try the fresh sea urchin- apparently it’s amazing, but only when fresh.
I was on that beach in February 2007 and still empty i see. :-)

I have met several people over the years of my travels who had said Myanmar was their favorite place to go. They always reminisce how it used to be and hope things return to normal. Seeing you guys visiting reminds me of my Covid years traveling with empty tourist areas. It was hard to find things to vlog as everything was deserted!

Myanmar is also my favorite country in SE Asia and one of my favorite in the world. I'm constantly reminiscing myself. Never thought February 2020 would be the last time I'd be able to visit parts of the country that haven't reopened since then (such as much of Kayin State, one of my favorites). I have been to Kawthaung twice, including the islands, since Covid, including last year and earlier this year.
Ben I'm gonna be honest, both you and Kat truly show the genuine sides of these places, looking forward to your next video 🙏🤟

Im 50 up but I tell you I like Myanmar it reminds me of Thailand in the early 90s.
More like Vietnam in the early '90s. In 1992 I was the only person on Nha Trang beach for 3 days. Once in a while some Vietnamese would sneak up to take a photo of the foreigner on the beach.
