It’s interesting that Lizzy wears a University Southern Florida Bulls hat. That is in my hometown of Tampa Florida. My daughter goes to USF. LOVE the new sailboat.
What a coincidence! I love the new boat too 😁
It looks like a fantastic boat, a gem of a find. I loved the sailing part & sea views.
Thank you! I’m really loving the boat so far 😁
Also love the new boat and for a new boat you pair did great. Look forward to more.
Thanks Jeff!
Nice boat. Looking forward to seeing your adventures with her!
Thank you!!!
Nice boat, good channel
Cheers!
love the boat! you'll have fun with that one
Thank you!
Bravo Zulu Alex, great video
Cheers!
Alex is such a foody. Love the new boat
I am 🤤😁
Lovely project boat. My dad used to have a Telstar 26 tri back in the 70s. Didn't fold back like yours did though. Think his were hinged and folded down. Fair winds.
Thats awesome I did look at those. Glad I found this one though!!!
I think yours looks way more modern than the 26. Your sails look in good nick too.
@@digitalfantazia3953 2006 boat so definitely is! The Genoa is a little dirty but not too bad so I’m happy! 😁
Very nice upgrade on the speed and stability.
The food looked 😘👌
It’s a big upgrade! I do need to go back for the food 😁🤤
We went to Rutland earlier this year because of the trailer sailing weekend you put on and advertised. Now we are in the market to get a yacht later this year. The performance of your trimaran is fantastic. Looking forward to seeing your work on the boat and adventures! Let it fly!
That’s brilliant! Was a great event for sure. Meraki is for sale if you fancied something like her😉. Thanks for watching and I might see you at the next event!
I'm near sure you've bought the boat i put an inquiry in about. There was only one photo?
If it is the same one then I'm glad someone like yourself got it, it looks great bro!
Where did you see it for sale?
@@AlexGoesSailing It was on Apolloduck for about two weeks with only one photo. I was promised more photo's but they never arrived. Although to be honest, I couldn't have moved my ass fast enough to get it due to current work.
You might remember my "TOBOTS" comments on you channel regarding a race.. I'll not be racing you now.. LOL. I changed my channel name due to people not really liking "corporations". {Another story}
That's a fantastic looking boat Alex and i know it's in good hands ; } That make/sort don't come up for-sale a lot. Weldone!
Congrats on the new boat!! Can't wait to see what she can do with a center board! 7 is respectable in 10 knots of wind any day ... I'm really looking forward to the boat projects for this one!!!
Lots of projects to be done on this one! I’m excited for it and thanks Robert!
Some of the best times I had sailing were on small cats and I think you're going to have some seriously good times on the new boat. She strikes me as a perfect adventure boat; shallow draught and fast, and she performed well considering you had no centre board. It'll be interesting to see how she performs in a bit of lumpy stuff. Looking forward to seeing what she looks like after she's had the 'Alex' treatment; she's a cracker.
I agree!!! Perfect upgrade for me and I will have plenty of fun with her! Thank you 🙏
Thats the interesting thing about going fast compared to the true wind speed, the apparent wind may shift in direction and velicity as the boat speed varies.
You'll get good at discerning a direction shift (header) from a wind velocity drop!
I hope I can pick it up with some practice! Definitely lots of fun though!
Fab 👌😊
Alex ..... wow It's going to be a struggle getting used to seeing you in a boat bigger than you are 🤣. 6kn in 10kn that's faster than I have ever been in my 36 cws. Boat looks great and seeing you there in Guernsey looks like a different world from your usual stuff. Looking forward to seeing what's next.
Just a little bigger than I’m used too! The speed is amazing and it’s needs some work and then it will go a bit faster. Quite a bit different with the location but I’m loving it! Great change!
Nice one mate 😊
Thank you!
Brilliant Alex, really enjoying this channel and seeing it grow. Love the new boat mate and looking forward to seeing the videos next season 👍
Thank you I really appreciate it!!! Lots to come!
I'm loving the new boat. It's not exactly me, but I wouldn't hate owning one. It's fast, it's roomy, what's not to like. I totally didn't notice how much better Lizzy was getting fed than Sam or Daniel. Probably just a coincidence. Take care Alex.
It’s definitely different and hence why I wanted to try one before I went any bigger! Don’t worry this was the only meal out so it’s just my bad cooking for the rest of the trip!
@@AlexGoesSailing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Like the new boat. Can't wait for the center board performance.
Me too!!!!
great boat will be good to get to places at twice the speed and half the time, looking forwards to repair vids ,would,nt like to trailer that about every time you going sailing think would be on a mooring and only trailered at end of season to over winter and do repairs,i,m sure you,ll have a blast with it on the water for a few years at least
It will be so good! Lots of boat work to get on with!!!
@@AlexGoesSailing yups when a boat finds you theres a haze comes down, and you dont see half the work needing done until you go through it and the list keeps on getting bigger and bigger
@@theresnobodyhere5778 exactly that!!!
40 deg into the wind on a trymaran??? That is realy good!!!!
With no centreboard too! Probably crabbing a little so might be a little more but I was still surprised!
I'm loving the new boat, can't wait to see what adventures you get upto next summer 😊
I have been on lots of adventures so lots to come!
A good move buying the Tri. Give you far more scope than the old boat, more comfortable too.
pa had a sail on your boat in Rutland this year.
Thank you! Definitely a good upgrade. Way more room than Meraki as you know! Might have to bring this one to the next event!
Lizzie goes sailing ❤
She does!
@@AlexGoesSailing I noticed! Boat looks like it was sailing well considering the lack of centerboard etc
@@fat_tommo_goes_boating it was considering all of the problems it has. Very manageable which is nice!
@@AlexGoesSailing I'm looking forward to seeing her in the flesh....
I did see you on Meraki once but didn't follow your channel then and didn't pay attention 🤦♂️
I suggested getting or using more a head band to attach to the GoPro for better results but still nice job keep it up
I did use the head band but had to use my backup camera as my GoPro died so the stabilisation wasn’t great.
I'm intrigued to see how you are going to get that on a trailer. I'm guessing the old Merakai rig won't fit. I'll just have to keep watching.
It’s definitely interesting 😂🤦♂️
Any thoughts on the CE Stamp (or lack thereof). Have just bought an American yacht in the UK and the CE thing was something to consider. Presumably no issues at the various ports you stopped at so happy days!
Never came up so wouldn’t have thought it would be a problem really. Quite lax so the rest of Europe might be different.
Like the new boat, but then I have a Farrier TT680.
Nice!
Great boat Alex hope you go it at a good price with all the repairs. Hope you also checked the main stays the lee one looked very slack when you ere sailing on starboard although maybe how it is set up.
Thank you! Got it for a good deal but it definitely needs work. I did end up tightening it when we got in as it was a bit too loose. Didn’t want to tighten it too much as there was some structural issues that I didn’t want to exacerbate. All good though!
You now need to raise and reef the mainsail like the rest of us!! Are you going to mod the boom on this one? Looking at the telltale, you had the sails trimmed very nicely. You are just ripping through the water!
I’m sure I will have to reef it at some point! Will probably keep the boom setup how it is for now. She is definitely a fast one 😁
Interesting new boat 👍 You didn't explain why there is no centreboard. Is it stuck or missing? Also, I think you feel the cold if you are warm-blooded😄
Got shown in the last episode but it’s been snapped off which is quite common on this boat apparently. Should be an easy fix hopefully!
@@AlexGoesSailing Ah yes. I must pay more attention. Rewatched. I think just before, you revealed the centreboard issue you said something like "the roof has been compressed into the centreboard casing" and there was an image of heavy fibreglass cutting which was taking me a few moments to come to terms with 🙂Looking forward to the video(s) on that!
@@SimonJones-jy8ly as soon as I get back you will see all the work that needs doing! Not too bad though!
