I love this vest! My GF wasn't too keen on watching me squid around in a T-Shirt in Summer, so I bought this. Wore it for the entire Summer Season in 2023, plan to do it again in 2024.
Most important parts of your body: brain, chest, thoracic and lumbar spine (no gear protects the neck). This vest with a full face helmet protects those areas better than a jacket which typically only protects against road rash. People who claim this vest is for squids only, have no idea what they are talking about.
See was going to get a 500$-700$ leather jacket but haven’t found solid chest protection on them. Was thinking I should rather get this vest and an armored hoodie with upgradable elbow and shoulder armor
i use a vest like this i got from amazon itt has c2 level 2, on top of that i use a breathable jacket which is also ce level 2 with shoulder, back and elbow guards. for my legs i use a kevlar cargo pants with knee protection
I came off my bike recently and broke three ribs and my scapula. I was wearing an Eclipse mesh jacket with shoulder and elbow armor. I'm looking to buy some extra protection that I can wear underneath my jacket. Would something like this vest provide protection to ribs in the event of a high side?
This can not protect from an impact that will break your ribs, you should also know that back protectors do not protect you from twisting injuries, those are the type of injuries that break your spine and could cause nerve damage (paralysis). Back protectors and this kind of products will only protect you from scrapes, cuts and minor bruising, and statistically the back has very low probability of this types of injuries.. This vest is more of a fashion item then anything else
Ok I bought this.... #1 I like it, #2 make sure you measure right if you are going to wear over garments. I am an xl and 2xl fits perfect. #3 Why did I buy this? A: cuz it is hot as the devils balls here. #4 I also bought elbow and knee guards so I can be cooler. Over long sleeve and jeans..etc.
What if im 5'7" but with a 41.5 chest? In the chart it gives me a L/XL. But im concerned that my height would make this way to big/long for me. But the S/M too tight... any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I got the d30 icon vest. Not this one. The other one is really sweaty sometimes but it's so comfortable and easy to wear under any jacket
