- It's my last 48 hours here in Udon Thani, Thailand, and I wanted to take you along with me on my chill day adventure! Udon Thani is a super laid-back town, and I totally dig that vibe. Today, I'm just cruising around on my motorcycle, taking in the sights. First stop: the Chinese - Thai museum, where I'm checking out some cool history about Udon Thani. Then, I head back to the main park to soak in the relaxing atmosphere.

Enjoyed this vlog very much. Thanks very much for taking us along! Take it easy man!
Thank you John 👍
It is an honor to come to our province of Udon Thani. Thank you very much.☺️🇹🇭🇹🇭❤️❤️
Thank you 🙏 I really enjoyed Udon Thani.
@@WalkAboutWayne Happy Thai New Year Even though it's already Songkran❤️
Another top video. Cheers Wayne. 🤩
Nice one mate 👌👌
Just a totally chilled out happy place - very cool mate - you’ve shown us all a lot of UT 👌 - Thanks WW 😎✔️👍🙏
It's been great. I know where I'll be coming if I need to get away from everything. Cheers Ant.
Hey Wayne. I've lived now in Chiang Mai for 13 years, but lived in Udon Thani for two and a half years before that. Nice city , friendly people, very few tourists. Yes, I like living in CM more, but have fond memories of Udon too.
Nice one Mike, nice to hear from someone who has lived in both. Udon is one of the Most chilled cities I've been. It doesn't have the charm of Chiang Mai, but it could be a great option for me in the future. Not so touristy, like you mentioned. Udon seems like a nice quiet life.
Udon Thani close proximity to Nong Khai (1hr drive), Meekong River, Laos Freindship Bridge, beyond Vientiane, creates international tourism on a smaller scale. Scenic drive up the Meekong to Chiang Khan, really worth seeing Wayne, great vlog dude!
Already been over the border in the past buddy. Cheers man 👍
I like the look of Udon Than I, definitely the kind of place too chill an enjoy a quieter life style
This is the place to get away from everything. Great retirement option, away from all the normal stuff.
Another great video Wayne !
Chinese Thai culture center looks worth a visit.
Cheers Paul, it was worth a look around mate.
"I see a Starbucks down there... that is a good enough reason to run isn't it?" LMAO! Loving the chill vibes - great escape from the hustle of Atlanta.
Haha, me and Starbucks don't get along. Thank you buddy.
The mascot of Udon Thani being a duck, particularly the "Ped Udon," is based on the region's fame for its delicious duck dishes. Udon Thani is well-known in Thailand for its duck recipes, which are considered a local specialty (thanks ChatGPT!)
I knew one of you would come through. Good ol' ChatGPT 🤣. There was another place I went to in Thailand that had Ducks too. I can't remember where though.
@@WalkAboutWaynehi Wayne me and my family will be making our first visit to Thailand in October 2024, for me would be a highlight of the trip is if I can meet, we will visit chang mai for a week, to see some of the places I've learned about from watching your videos religiously for the past few years... would we be able to meet you even for a little bit it would be such a happy moment if I can see you... from your friend rusty
@@rustythelegend Hey Rusty, sure mate. If I'm in town I'll meet you. Thanks for watching and liking the vlogs mate. I hope to see you in October buddy 👍
Just a Heads up on those Skylab bike motors, even before you drive/ride it,
1. Drain the oil check for metal fragments/filings (Swarf),
2. Flush the motor with a mix of Diesel and cheap oil.
3. flush that Diesel/oil out with a thin oil then top up with quality oil.
4. ride for a 30min to a hour.
5. drain the oil check for Swarf again if there is none top up again with good oil and it should be good, if it still has Swarf, Swear a lot and drain, top up again etc etc.
i had a "Chonda" (stationary motor) on my Horizontal Bandsaw that i used to Slab Timber Logs, used the above method with great results.
I've heard they are really cheap engines, someone was saying in the comments, not sure if it was you Steve.
I live 35k south of udon Thani ,great city to go to and just chill.
Nice one John. I think Udon Thani, might be one of the most chilled city I've been.
3:00 - yeah, Rimping Market (like the one at Maya) is a good comparison. I did go in and have a look around.. I enjoyed walking around the area. Yeah, I walked through that park, too. The area around the railroad tracks to the north was REALLY interesting. I actually walked across several of the tracks (which was probably illegal but I saw quite few locals doing it.. 😅). 8:00 - yeah, a lot of Chinese crossed over into Northern Thailand (including Chiang Mai and Issan) to escape from the communists in 1950 or so. Most of the Muslims in Chiang Mai are ethnic Chinese, which explains why the large mosque near the Night Market has a big sign in Chinese in front of it. The Thaksins (who come from Chiang Mai) are also ethnic Chinese.
It's a good area, not the most exciting but I did enjoy the museum and reading everything 👍
Thanks Wayne Nice comfortable room . Nice area , clean and quiet . The Chinese culture place looks cool. Fascinating culture.Great video. In Khon Kaen, ubonrat dam and nong Wai dam attract many people for songkran festival happening soon. Maybe the same in udon Thani at the lake by the ducks .
Yes, nice and quiet city, great for getting away from it all. Everywhere will be crazy in a couple days. I wish I was in Udon for Songkran, but I have other plans. Thanks.
Nice hotel Wayne I did like it here in udon you seem like you like it there Wayne I have a feeling you will come back 😂 yes over priced coffee Wayne run lol 😂
Not a bad town, I could see myself here in the future, away from all the riff riff haha.
Udon Thani is too quiet for you Wayne. You need to get back on the baht bus with Bobby Dazzler in Pattaya.
I thin I'd rather stay in Udon mate 🤣
I wouldn't go back to Chang Mai for a while, because ive seen on the news that the air quality is awful all around that area .😷
Quackers are a specialty there…
The love a bit of Quack 🐥
@@WalkAboutWayne Quack heads!
The only reson for those ducks is Laab ped Udon famouse Udon Issan food.
Yes, seems to be for the love of a duck dish 👍
Figure at 8:53 is deffo José Mourinho🤣
Haha, I'll have to watch that back.
Well, if it wasn't you that I passed on a black Click scooter down See Ping Muang Rd 4 couple of day's ago. Then you have a twin brother mate.
Hey Lars, I can reply to this now. It might have been my brother mate 🤣
@WalkAboutWayne yeah right. So he's a bobby dazzler too 😉
