Also while it's true that Linkin Park doesn't make ''Happy'' music I don't nessecarily think it's a bad thing. Their music makes you feel emotion which is why their music is so good.
I always felt like their music was intended to make the listener feel like "you're not alone". Their music has helped me through some rough times for sure, just knowing somebody else can relate.
Absolutely. Music is art, and art is supposed to make you feel. There's no reason it all has to make you feel one way. Hell, there's so much value in music like this for people experiencing similar feelings to get a cathartic release, or feel less alone, or find ways to express themselves better than they knew how. Sad, angry, etc. music is important.
This was the lead single from their last album One More Light. It also was the last song released while Chester was still alive. Also the reason for the style being different is because Linkin Park got creative and felt like doing something more pop influenced and it resulted in some great tracks such as ''Heavy'', ''One More Light'', ''Good Goodbye'' and ''Talking To Myself''
Ooooh, Invisible is great! And it's too bad a lot of LP fans crapped on this album when it came out. But ever since Chester passed, they love it now. What the hell. I love the album! It's a great album just to chill to.
Fun fact: there’s a behind the scenes video for this that shows the scene where Chester is screaming at himself. They had a lookalike actor standing in. What he was actually screaming in that scene was stuff like, “You’re adorable!”
I honestly think One More Light is their best album. It was a departure from their usual style but it really worked. Even without Chesters passing I think I'd still call it my favorite.
I mean the departure from the usual style, went like 2 albums before this lol. They were always testing and trying new sounds. And this is not the best album, I’m sorry😂 I know it’s an opinion, but nah, that ain’t it.
As a lifelong LP fan since 2000, I will always have room in my heart for Kiiara. In their long history as a band, she was the first and only female artist ever featured in one of their songs, and it was on the lead single of their final album before Chester's passing.
I think because of this Song you could tell how talented Chester really was. Chester could sing everything. His voice was so great! He is such a Legend ❤
@@metalmike6668 What I wanted to say is, that Chester could do more than Hybrid Theory and Meteora stuff. His voice was made for all genres. I know not everybody likes the latest record, but I loved it. I loved it because Chester could show another side of his voice which I think is amazing.
@Michèlle Meteora /Meteora arts exactly his range was amazing I meet them in concert in 2004 in texas and he took time to actually talk to me and my girlfriend for a good 10 minutes that may not seem like a long time but when your a famous musician thats a lifetime and he will truly be missed.
I think we all knew that before hand lol. This album didn’t really show to much tbh. We all knew he could go high and sing his heart out. This album was super simplistic, it ain’t showing anything new
If they are not already on your list, I really think you need to listen to "The Messenger", "Leave out all the Rest" and "Shadow of the Day" from Linkin Park. Also fairly calm songs, while still showcasing all that Chester can (could) do. Also another band I like that I think you would like is Shinedown. I would recommend listening first to either "Second Chance" or "Sound of Madness".
I'm 34. I've been a fan of Linkin Park since I was in highschool. Chester just had a way of breaking through the ice And explaining your emotions through music That was so damn beautiful. L.P helped me deal with my Dark Days and keep my sanity. I remember the day he died, it was my day off I'm relaxing in my Room and I got a news alert on my phone And it said Chester Bennington of Linkin Park dead at age 41. At first I thought it was a hoax So I paid it no mind. Then later on a different headline with the same message About Chester Bennington. And unfortunately I found out it was real. I remember just staring at my phone in disbelief I couldn't believe one of my Hero's was gone from this world at such a young age. Never in my life have I ever cried for a celebrity passing away. But I did that day. The world had lost a Gift to Music. The dude helped me and so many others my age cope. But in the end he couldn't help himself.
It's totally different to their older music.I think you'd really like the one more light album,I 💖💖💖 it,it's so cool.also,I suggest you check out piano version of crawling, Chester's voice is incredible 🤘🎸🎶🔥🤘🎸🎶🔥
To answer your question about the different sound their albums A Thousand Suns and One More Light(which this song is from, also their last album) both had a very different sound than their other albums. Much more electronic and leaning towards pop which did bother some people at first but as time has gone on I feel both albums have grown on a lot of people who easily dismissed them when they first came out.
The problem with doing random "recommended" songs is that you don't really experience the entire change from their HT era to their OML era. They're completely different sounds all together, and listening the albums in order is the best way (in my opinion) to hear their evolution. I love all of their albums :D
You should really listen to Mike's stuff. He came out with an album called Post Traumatic and it's about the aftermath and what hes feeling after Chester's passing. God I miss Chester. Thanks for the reactions!!
Sounds like you need to check out some more of their recent music. A few songs I’d recommend that I think you’d like: Castle of Glass, Invisible, Sorry for Now, Battle Symphony
If you only knew, this song and One More Light which you already reacted to belong in an album called precisely One More Light which is more pop and pop rock. It really was a change of sound and direction for the band and it had as many detractors as fans. Also the historical context and the reasons behind the creation of the album are pretty meaningful for Chester and many agree that the lyrics of some of the songs (Heavy in particular) says a lot about how Chester was feeling at the moment and resume some of the potential reasons for his death. You might like almost all songs from that album, I think they are more of your vibe.
I’m an old school fan from the first linkin park albums, and this is my favorite song. It’s the last stuff he put out before he left us, so that’s how he was feeling
To understand this song then it's best to react to "one more light" album as there's so many hints that Chester wasn't doing so well mentally and give you more of understanding why this album is different to their previous album RIP Chester 🖤🤘
Linkin Park has been my top artist on Spotify more years than not, but I find it hard to listen to this album because I had it on repeat when the news of Chester's suicide hit, so I tend to associated this album with that time frame. With that said, this is hands down one of my favorite LP songs and One More Light is an amazing album.
if you like this song then you'll love all the other songs in this album (One More Light). sharp edges, battle symphony, and sorry for now are some of my favorites from LP
In hindsight this entire album was Chester's one last cry for help, he took his own life I believe a year or so after this album was released, leaving behind his wife and kids. That line in the chorus "why is everything so heavy?" in this song is all those negative emotions piling up and feeling like its weighing on him, you can hear it especially in his solo bit after the 2nd chorus when he just sounds so weak and vulnerable, rest in peace Chester, you are sorely missed.
Yes it's a different style and Linkin park took a hit by "older Linkin park fans" bc of it. This was called "too pop" however I loved it. It just sucks this was the last one released before he died 💔 RIP Chester 🙏
I am pretty sure this is the last album before Chester Bennington Past away. Sadly, this is one of the ones that the True fans didn't like that much, I love this one as well. This album is called, "One More Light". It gets very emotional.
Kiiara is amazingly talented, if she wasn't Chester would not have done a duo with her. It would be awesome to see you do some reviews of her music! Her voice is off the charts.
Please please please do Waiting For The End, one of their best ever songs, gives me goosebumps every time! But if not then you should definitely carry on with their newest album, you’ll be very surprised I think

Wrong. Good goodbye was released after heavy.
@@nickdavis6676 True but I meant to say singles specifically but I forgot to specify because Good, Goodbye was released as a promotional song.
@@CarlosHuiskens Good Goodbye was a single too, Chester appeared playing basketball with Stormzy and others
Talking to Myself music video was released hours before confirming Chester’s death.
Fun fact: there’s a behind the scenes video for this that shows the scene where Chester is screaming at himself. They had a lookalike actor standing in. What he was actually screaming in that scene was stuff like, “You’re adorable!”

Linkin Park - Leave Out All The Rest. This one is also a great slow song.
React to the whole album, its literally right up your alley.
Kiiara almost broke down into tears performing Heavy without chester, in a later live version she burst into tears after performing Heavy.
Your reaction gives me the feeling that you'll really like their song "Waiting For The End"
Really sounds like a different genre too
Chester's last video🥺🖤. They're whole last album right before he passed is that style
Love this song so much! Whole One More Light album is amazing imo! :)

2 of my favorite Linkin Park songs of all time are "Leave out all the Rest" and "Nobody can Save Me". I would check those out as well. :)
